I was at this show and i LOVED it. My parents wouldn't let me go the to the real thing in 1976 - so it's cool I kinda got a second chance.i also LOVED seeing Linda there too. It really made it a Wings tribute. Wonderful night. I also remember one of the band bringing up the idea of having a Lennon tribute as well. Still waiting for it.
i love the bass line, because it was probably the first disco bass lin, which in turn inspired disco music, i'm not a fan of disco, but it's good to know where it came from
Okay, so since everything else about this is amazing, here's my one nerd comment: Compare this with the 1976 Wings live version, and the tone of the bass here is much more subdued. The reason why? The pickup selector on Ardy's Rick' is set to the 'middle' position (both pickups) instead of the 'bridge' position which would've given it that real punchy high-end "bite" that the original tune has. Surprised he ignored that. But the live horns make up for it!
I have to say you guys are fantastic! Please consider performing more of Wings awesome rockers like... The Mess Hi Hi Hi Girlschool I've Had Enough Getting Closer Cafe On The Left Bank Big Barn Bed Old Siam Sir Best Friend Beware My Love I wish McCartney himself would do these songs, but you guys would do a great job as well, really please consider performing these songs. Would be an absolute treat for all McCartney and your fans!
@bttfnut89 Paul didn't use the Hofner in the 70's or most of the 80's. He didn't pull it back out until the "Flowers in the Dirt" album and tour, so using it for this time period wouldn't be authentic
Actually, Ardy is a righty. Incredibly, he taught himself how to play the bass left-handed. Not just play the bass, but play well enough to cover some of the best bass lines in pop music.
this is literally EXACTLY the same, other than the singing. thats all, even the bass! its crazy! try audio swapping in pauls voice just to see how accuratre it would be
@1:50 Ed Sullivan does whatever the heck he wants.

The Rickenbacker 4001c64s bass is period-correct for this song. Look at the 1976 Rockshow tour video for reference.

@growlyman very true and extra props to you for reshaping the upper horn just like Paul himself did to his
very good attention to detail
but theres no surprise there ..this band sounds and LOOKS like Wings!!
