LYRICS2: Everything that breathen only by you, only by you, oh, you, days of love, sweet days, young dream of spring,In my heard, age of hopes you betrayed, everything, everyng has passed.
LYRICS in russian:Oh where are you days of love, swet dreams, young dreams of spring,
where is the sound of forest, songs of the birds, where is the colours of the filelds, where is the shapes of moon, where is the sparks of dawns, where is the everything you have take by your flow with you, and the sunlight and the love and the quietness.
Like Yingdat, this was my introduction many years ago to this wonderful and apparently "easy" melody. But as other supposedly easy pieces by Chopin,Mozart,Schubert, they can be sublime(as with Chaliapine) or cheap. That why we need great interpreters to discover the gems hidden in the sometimes despised "popular" works.
His technical skill is on the verge of perfectness, the voice is pouring wide and freely like a mighty Russian river. His only concern is feeling and the maestro give it to us tenderly and generously.

Карузо и Шаљапин - величине које се не пореде, као аксиоми у математици! Свако њихово извођење је драма у малој форми.

Wonderful. Great music. But the best version I've every heard is countertenor's Nicholas Spanos which is easy to find on YT.

Never heard anything even similar to Chaliapin. Takes the soul out of me each time I hear him.

No offense, but this doesn't suit him at all. He sounds like he has marbles in his mouth.
