I think Tool is a bit like Pink Floyd, in so much as the lyrics are often intentionally left open to interpretation. Yes, they may have been inspired by a specific event, but very often, the emotions and interactions are applicable across a variety of circumstance..

..just my 2cents..

Im pretty sure in on the CD its Lovers both but live he sometimes says brothers once because the song is about the band.

@123sonyas I always thought that the song was about the band because before Lateralus, Tool had a lot of problems with legal transactions because their record label was trying to sue them. In between Aenima and Lateralus is when Maynard made A Perfect Circle and the band lost contact of each other. They talk about the loss of communication with each other in a couple interviews, but thats the beauty of tool. Interpret their songs anyway you want to
