He sounds so much older. Maybe about 4 years older. I have always imagined him to be about 14. In this song he sounds about 17 or 18. He sounds so beautiful and full of emotion in this song. Len has always been one of my favorite Vocaloids.
@cutie97100 sorry, Vocaloid is a Japanese singing program of robotic voices made from voice actors, so there's no anime of it. but there are a bunch of songs on youtube and a manga called "Hatsune Mix"
I downloaded Gakupo's version of this song first, so I'm used to a different key, but both versions are really pretty. and I like Len's mature voice! (my favorite song that sounds like this is "Gray" by Len- google it)
Ack, sorry, that came out wrong! I just meant that your experience greatly outweighs mine, but it sounds like I'm calling you a begginer too. Sorry. ^^'
I'm still a beginner in Japanese - probably much more so than motoko-san - but I do have a clarification to offer up for people trying to interpret the translation.
触れる爪先 --> "You on my toe"
I think that sentence is just trying to convey the general idea of lightly brushing against something with the tip of your toe - it could be perhaps an idea, emotion, or the "you" mentioned here.
I'd just like to interject for a moment. What you're referring to as Japanese, is in fact, Chinese/kana, or as I've recently taken to calling it, Chinese plus Kana. Japanese is not a language unto itself, but rather another derivative of a fully functioning Language made useful by the pretty letters comprising a full Language. Many Japanese speakers speak in a modified version of the Chinese Language every day, without realizing it. Through a peculiar turn of
events, the version of Chinese which is widely used in Japan is often called "Japanese", and many of its users are not aware that it is basically the Chinese Language, developed by the Chinese people. There really is a Japanese Language, and these people are speaking it, but it is just a part of the Language they use. The Kana is an essential part of an language, but useless by itself; it can
only function in the context of a complete Language. Japanese is normally used in combination with the Chinese language: the whole system is basically Chinese with Kana added, or Chinese/Kana.
Plus - Chinese isn't a language... it's a nationality. What people would normally call "Chinese" could actually be different languages. Ask someone who speaks cantonese to speak to someone who speaks mandarin and see how well they communicate. China has many different dialects within itself.
So while I don't disagree that Japanese stemmed from Chinese, I would not call Japanese a variation of "Chinese", but rather a different language with it's origins based in China.
wow this song was originaly by Len? I think this is cool but Gakupos ver was the first one i listend to so i find it better. but thats just my opinion

Hehe, okay! I've always thought the song Jewel by KAITO deserves more popularity than it has because of its unique sound. :)

@GGLoneGWolfGG
Most european langauges stem from greek, germanic, celtic, slavic, etc. That doesn't mean that any of us speak any of those languages.
Yes, languages stem from other languages, and share common syntax and vocabulary, but that doesn't mean that it's the same language.

Aren't you thinking of Hiragana? Kanji is different from Chinese, seeing as how it uses the SYLLABLES.
gg533 1 year ago
@gg533 You have it backwards. Hiragana and katakana uses syllables. Kanji is what stems off of Chinese pictograms.
