Like the music or not he has to be proud of the fact that his music is so well received and adored by so many, whether it's for the music itself or the movies it is a huge part of, it has to be a rewarding thought to think of your creations are so well received and enjoyed.

@JPF941 keep in mind that after 60 years in the "industry" you can be very tired that people know you only because of ONE movie.At the end of his concerts, it's like this " can you sign my Starwars sheet poster mug etc. ?"an issue happened recently because JW is now 80. a bunch of ass*** came at one of his concert with Star Wars vinyls to have his autograph and resold them on ebay. the security had to protect Mr Williams because these guys became angry when williams refused to sign them

0:11 I love how he's going "bah-bah-bah-bah!" like *we're* going "bah-bah-bah-bah!" when he conducts. That, and the huge smile on his face says to me that this is, if not his favorite, then one of his favorite pieces. And it's not hard to imagine why. None of the other pieces have touched so many lives and can bring a smile to peoples' faces like the Star Wars main title can.

@millenniumf1138 look at an audience when he plays indy theme , or the Jaws "2 notes", and you will see the same reaction. i don't think starwars is his favorite tune. after hearing it so many times and people asking him so many time about it, and with all these fanatic starwars fan, i'm sure he must be tired of it. you can't ask or think to a question like "it must be his favorite" to a composer. usually, it's like to ask you which childs you prefer if you have several ones.

@martyprod2 True. Guess I'm a bit biased. No one can deny though that the Star Wars score is probably his most ambitious. The others are all limited to four or five themes, maybe ten or so, but Star Wars has at least thirty themes and motifs that make themselves heard, each one a work of art.

I don't think he's tired of it yet. Composers hardly ever tire of showing off their work, especially with the kind of audience reaction Williams' pieces invariably invoke.

@millenniumf1138 there is so many themes because williams used wagner technic, letmotiv, so each caracter, situation etc in the movies have his own theme. Vader, obiwan,luke, yoda, the force, duel, emperor, love theme, etc ... Crazy !! williams didn't used this in the new trilogy. and it's not done as much on his other movies in the 70/80's.

i'm a fan of a rock band ,Toto, and i can tell you that his guitar player can't stand anymore to play their hits .. (hold the line ...).

@martyprod2 I studied about that in music theory. I think it was perfect for Star Wars because it gave each character an emotional connection to the audience and allowed you to know what kind of character they were from the music alone. Instantly you know the character and can empathize with them. For a fantastic setting like Star Wars, that's pretty essential, since there's no terrestrial basis for comparison and nothing is familiar, save for humans.

@proudmary86 This is not a Fake. it's a youtube issue, who make some videos having a delay between audio and video on some browser, it's happen randomly, after a while or immediatly and not on all videos. i could re upload the video, but the issue will be the same after a while, or immediatly, and we would lost all the comments and the viewers. i admit i don't know what to do.

@martyprod2 i have to say i can't either tell if it's "fake" or not. but people must remember, they play in a concert hall, much like the song was recorded in, and these are top musician who are probably as good as it gets in every of there performance, and you do not use many microphones to record an orcestra. thus the sound is just as good as the recording.

@jonplee He only writes the melody and partly orchestrates. If you look at the credits at the end of the films he's scored, there is also an orchestrator who basically takes John's theme on a piano and scales it up for the orchestra. So I guess he needs the score to know what everybody is doing! Plus he's written hundreds of pieces of music. Can you remember what you wrote 20 years ago!?

@GGbreizh you are completly completly wrong. if you studied John Williams works, you know that williams use orchestrator because he just have no time to do both things.his orchestrators are Herbert Spencer = Star Wars 4,5,6, Superman, Close Encounters, Indiana Jones 1,2,3, Empire of the Sun, E.T, 1941 etc.

Conrad Pope = Schindler's List, jurassic Park, Star Wars 1,2,3, Harry Potter 1,2,3, Minority Report, AI, Catch Me If You Can, War of the Worlds, Munich, Memoirs of a Geisha etc ...

How williams work ? he write very detailed Sketchs with Strings and the most important instruments. it's one of the few composer who give to the orchestrtor a very detailed sketches. part of williams success is related to his orchestrators. impossible to deny that. one of the guy who thank ALL the time his orchestrators everywhere (film, Cd, interviews, Books) is Alan Menken.
