@Vegas242 You can do what I did and just get a Mother 2 cart for around 20-40 dollars off Amazon or Ebay and follow this guide and using Starmen.net for the item guides translated etc.

I started last Tuesday on part 1 and just finished now, it is not hard to do and all you have to do is snap two little clips in your SNES to let the cart fit better theres videos on youtube on how to do it.

Wow. I first found out about Ness on ssbm, and had absolutely no idea what earthbound was. Now after watching this playthrough, I can say that I feel in love with this game and regret the fact that I had never heard about it. This is an epic game!

@andoykids The first game of the series, Mother, is known in America as "Earthbound Zero". This Mother game, Mother 2, was the only game publicly released in America.

Earthbound Zero had only one official copy ever sold.

Earthbound zero was an incomplete translation of Mother 1 that was unreleased, Earthbound is Mother 2, and Mother 3 was originally going to be on the N64, but ended up being on th GBA, and was never released outside Japan. There is a fan translation for Mother 3, and a ROM version of Earthbound zero, all of which have been played by chuggaaconroy.

Thank you for your playthrough! I managed to beat this game with Ness at less than lv. 80, Paula with only 286 HP, and Poo having no sword of kings. It was hard, but it was indeed worth it to play this awesome game.

what bothers me is the three games don't really connect, each game has its own Charterers and Story they don't reference the previous games 4example earthbound may be similar to mother 1 but in earthbound and so on to mother 3 they dont bring up the last two games at all, and since they have there own story so it doesn't matter what game is first played, unlike the megaman games which continues where the last one left off, so who wants earthbound II to be made?

Gigue, the alien at the end of Mother is Gygas, Since in mother one his emotions made him lose, so he destroyed his mind and emotions to become pure evil. In Mother 3, Pokey traveled time so much his body became old even though he acts like a child still, and he's the one who rules the Pigmask army in Lucas's time. It shows lots of references to Earthbound in Mother 3, there's a few rooms specifically for them.

Actually, there's a lot of speculation as to why Mother games can't be released in America. Earthbound can't get a rerelease in America because of all of its pop culture references, and how copyright laws have changed since the 90s. Many believe Mother 3 can't get a release in America because of the Magypsies and some other parts of the game (a certain Tanetane Island). Mother 1 might be able to slip by, but today's audience wouldn't enjoy its level of difficulty or the fact that the game is ve
