no one might be looking if your at home, but in a hall or a bar, there is always someone watching, scoping out your every move. best would be to learn how to legally jump or learn how to kick. A kick and a miss is still more respected than a scoop shot.
Don´t pay atention to all those trolls out there! you did a great job in this video! I love your honestly and the way you play pool! just keep it going!! thanks for the video! I tried with your tips and I had really good results! thanks!
Why the hate? He says it is technically illegal right at the beginning, but a lot of people don't mind when playing non-competitively. It's not like you'd be watching pool videos on youtube if you were playing competitively anyway. Obviously you should not do this kind of shot when playing a stranger unless you've talked about it, but in alot of friendly games have house rules that allow this sort of shot.
What stupid advise "Look it up online maybe someone else is better than I am"...well for your information that is what I'm trying to do, but people like you who can't do it is wasting my time!
@RonTheRectum NO HE DOESN'T KNOW WHAT HE IS DOING!!!( i mean for the jump shot) and for the mache?? the thinging is correct but he isnt that skilled to do it.
BTW jump shot its really hard and you do it the same way he holds the cue for mache, but you have to hit the whit ball in the center above.
Why are we teaching ppl illegal shots? If I see someone trying to jump a ball by scooping the cue ball, I stop them. Actually jumping the cue ball, kind of takes a little more skill and it isn't illegal. You have to come down onto the cue ball to make it rebound off the felt. You can't hit the felt first or scoop under the cue ball to make it jump! That's a rule in both APA and BCA handbooks.
dude, this guy forced me to make a youtube account to just post my comment, that is clearly an illegal jump shot, scooping the ball means that the ball ride along the shaft of the cue of you watch in slow motion, riding on the cue is a foul. As for that masse shot, you have to be pretty much an open level pool player to play that shot from such close distance, you would not be able to masse it and do a legal hit at such small gap at your level. So please learn to play before you learn to teach.
@dotamaster123 i couldnt agree more....unless he wants to go 90 degrees on that masse and pull an eric yow there is no way that he is making a legal masse....let alone the fact that he cant even do a masse to get around half the face of a ball. as far as the illegal jump this video should be banned from youtube to prevent people like this from messing up tables in pool halls that are covered with simonis cloth or just pool tables in general.
This guy is NOT qualified to teach jump or masse shots. 1. Legal jump shot must be done by hitting the cue ball into the table so it bounces; to scoop it off the cloth is illegal. If you purposely scoop in a classy billiards parlor, you may be kicked out. 2. It is called a "masse" shot, unrelated to Mike Massey.
If this guy plays that type of pool... and by those 'rules' ... I'll give him yellow AND blue... We'll see how long it takes me to break his bank roll....
You think so? Where I'm from if he tried a scoop shot in a money game, he'd get called on a foul, and might end up with a knife in his kidney, depending on which bar. The best player in the world shouldn't be teaching people to cheat OR possibly ruin someone else's felt.
wow guy, this is horrible, i think there's a 5 year learning how to play pool somewhere who is even frowing at this. THIS SHOT IS ILLEGAL - NOT BECAUSE U MAY RUIN THE FELT! and pros don't ruin stuff, it's amatuers trying to be pros that ruin sticks, felts, and tables.
alright there bubs... that is a scoop shot.. and u arent supposed to shoot that particular shot... because its not a real jump shot! they will call it in league!!
omg what kind of "expert" do you make yourself as? A) don't teach people illegal shots B) if you want to do that, teach it properly, you dont HAVE to hit the surface/carpet first, the jump can be achieve with a very low english shot, with some cue elevation, not that it should be encouraged..
That's a spoon shot.
