Trying to take away an estimated 300,000,000 guns from Americans would probably result in enough casualties to slice the world's population in half. Guns are here, almost 1 for every person, and definatly 1 for every person between the age of 12 and 90. Gun laws would only work if guns weren't already here. The only defence from firearms is firearms, in almost every situation our 2nd amendment rights have been taken away, people have died.
Sorry about all the comments but gun control causes crime. Look at the states of Mass. New Hampshire and Vermont, Mass has strong gun control and high crime. The other two are like the wild west and more gun freedom than texas and lowest gun crime in the USA. It's a small region where people cross state lines all the time.
This paradox with gun control as a solution to the failures of gun control adds to my view of how socioeconomic engineering has screwed up the USA and how it caused the NAZI tragedy of Europe. Lets look at NAZI Germany as the example of uncontrolled socioeconomic engineering.

The true believer in gun control is not able to identify this as the problem, and so they will only make the problem worse.

This is why we had the tech bubble, the housing bubble, the bank loan bubble, the dollar bubble, the energy bubble and now the stimulus bubble that will pop within about 10 years. Now if you want to argue that our civilization or other modern incarnations of civilization are corrupt, fine, but I think that's a different argument than saying that civilization itself is bad. It just seems to me like sometimes you encourage people to be hermitic but in this video you obviously aren't. originally, yes, and i'd probably be down to live in civilization in its original state. the problem is right now, we don't support each other: we support the system, and the system supports us. Some of my friends have lived alone for 20 years, with no solid long-term friends, dead family. Lonely gay guys waiting tables in NYC, completely alone.

Well, I guess it would depend on how large a scale you want to look at. I mean I have friends, but sure, there are a lot of people that I would generally consider to be unsupportive; but in some ways there may be some benefits to that. Every day that passes it seems like our government and culture seem to support, to an increasing extent, the idea that we should be baby-sat from cradle to grave. I think that's a mistake.

I've always had to work for anything that I get in life, but I think that makes me a stronger person. This increasing dependency on the government, prescription drugs, or anything else is nothing more than a means of control. So I guess the reason I have some reservations about saying "let's all support one another" is that I can only agree to the extent that it doesn't become a dependency. Does that make sense?

You also didn't know that statistically, they're more people who are actually mental ill, than just upset about being picked on. Every day there's thousands of teenaged people being diagnosed with these disorder and such. Statistics show that 5 out of every 10 people are depressed. And 11 out of every 1000000 people are depressed enough to kill themselves or others. Cho, happened to be one of those few people.
