Great idea. I never knew a wire saw could cut that good. Do you recommend any specific brand? The only one I ever had was a cheap one that came with one of those junky hollow handle knives when I was a little kid.

While on the subject of saws, many old time woodsmen up in Maine used to carry buck saw blades taped to the inside of their belts, and would improvise a handle much like you did if they needed to use it.

with the wire saw i is better to get the expensive one really i got one out of a hollow handle survival knie they are no good at all compared to the other ones ,my one was a webtex wire saw

They are good for cutting thru bone and horns etc. as well. We used them on the farm I grew up on to de-horn cattle.
