  • Nice rig! I have 5 of them, 2 work and 3 parts rigs, lol.

  • Coul you make another video with a little more lighting? I have a old Tempo. I've never used it. I'm giving it to a friend. I have a Yaesu FT 840.

  • One question; why does the manual say to disconnect the mic plug?

  • A good rig. So how does it perform on AM? i have a line on two of them.

  • Transmit is pretty good, the receive is pretty noisy but I haven't tried it on AM since I moved out to the country.

  • I got one yesterday for 10.00!!!!! but it needs a power supply. What i found odd was it uses 6KD6 tubes instead of 6JS6 tubes.

  • Thanks for the video! This was the first rig I used on the air when I was first licensed in 1978. I had tried to build a Heathkit but it never worked right and after a lot of effort my parents bought me one of these used. I loved this rig and spent countless hours using it, mostly on 40 meters with an inverted Vee. I always got great signal reports. What a great walk down memory lane. Thanks,

The finals were 6CL6's on my Tempo-One.

  • Nice little rig. Does that use sweep tubes in the finals like the Yaesu 101's?

  • It sure does. This rig is the predecessor to the great ft-101's.

  • I still have a FT 101 E, how available are the finals? What are they 6KF6-C's? I can't remember.

  • When I was first licensed, the big thing was using a VFO with 75 watts CW

  • Believe it or not this rig was rescued from the 11 meter market and I use it exclusively on 20m. The 28.5 segment was converted to 11m but no big deal.
