Wright expresses feelings based on consequences of an oppressed people. I'm sure these comments inspire fear in some whites, probably because they see some truth behind what he is saying. Wright's mistake is that he thinks that these problems are static and do not change. I believe relations between blacks and whites have improved a great deal. As for the Arab slave trade, while historically true, I doubt it has much psychological weight compared with what people experience in their own lifetimes and in the generations immediately preceding.

And as far as this video is concerned it is IDIOTIC to compare what Reverend Wright said (mostly true from his perspective) to what Imus said about black people.

almost. wabc's audience is more favorable for imus. nbc radio's audience has changed since imus's debut 20 years ago. wabc's audience resembles that of jerry springers. basically his core fan base just changed stations so it seems that imus had to do so aswell.
and the media neglects to mention the white preacher who blamed us for 911 quite similar to the chickens comin home to roost speach by wright.

Not sure on Beck but the other two have Opinion shows. I was speaking of news anchors and writters in my local papers than opinion. And i would have to say in that area I am almost sure there are more left leaning shows than right. I don't think he should've disowned him at all. Rev's most controversial remarks are saying that America brought 9/11 attacks on itself with its overseas aggression (Tragic, but true, we weren't a random innocent nation pegged for attack)and also that Blacks were done a lot of damage by this country and because of that shouldn't hold patriotism to a high degree. Back to my original point, Wright is radical, outspoken, and arguably unpatriotic, but far from racist.

BLT is a Christianity-based belief that God sides with impoverished and oppressed groups of society. It cites that Jesus's mission was to end poverty and secure equality. It also holds that God will punish oppressors cruel holders of power. Wright's example: US kills many overseas and oppresses minorities here; God punishes the US with 9/11.
BLT doesn't meet any of your 4 charges, it sounds like your too closely associating Wright & BLT with more extreme groups like the Nation of Islam.

Trinity Church built a ONE million dollar home for their retired pastors to live in (in this case Wright). Most big churches do have Pastor's homes owned by the church, not the pastor. Also, Wright didn't put those videos in the news spotlight for attn and money, they were dug up from 5 years ago to attack Obama's campaign. AA means that you can't discriminate based on race, Blacks don't get preferential treatment(Regents V Bakke). Colleges may market more to minorities, give scholarships, but can't consider race in admissions. We should've had that from the beginning.

The difference is:
Imus made racist and insulting comments, so, he didn't mean it - has a big mouth, but shows a huge insensitivity and an ingrained bias. The same mouth that made him famous.
Rev. Wright has made anti-governmental remarks, everyone knows this, but has publically expressed his belief in a conspiracy of white people against black people. Rev. Wright is crazy, and his comments could be viewed as incitement to hatred, and possibly illegal.
