I think the point everyone is trying to make is that Hamas is the obstacle to peace. Being an Israeli, I can tell you that we can care less what the Palestinians do in Gaza and the West Bank so long as it doesn't involve killing Jews, which is all Hamas is concerned with doing. They can't claim to be a political organization if they have no platform other than "Itbach al yehud." They don't tackle the real problems like education and employment because they don't care about their own people.

Jews are encouraged to act collectively because they are supposedly divine and their religion requires them to do so and it is their "religious freedom" to do so, while Gentiles are ridiculed and taught to hate and distrust one another.
