I compared Kira to Superman because Superman is often criticized by people for being too perfect and too powerful, but I've read some Superman comics and he's a better written character compared to Kira. @Joseph132100 Yeah. I used to respect him for being analytical but for whatever reason he prefers not to look at what's shown. He refuses to acknowledge flaws, and at the same make positive statements about the show that are never made apparent at all in the show. I mean if someone likes GSD, there's not much I can do about it, but he seems to think that those who dislike it are morons. That's what I take offense with, espcecially since the complaints about GSD are well-founded.
@TheAnimeOverviewer Yeah and one of the worst things about it is that it is that the series was already established. In fact, there really wasnt a major reason to bring Kira and Athrun back except for fanservice. And, of course, fanservice is what killed. I honestly hope that Tomino takes the chance to make a remake with this whole Remastery thing. Only chance I see for redeeming himself with this.
@Joseph132100 Tomino has nothing to do with the Seed series. And I doubt he even cares. He's not even involved with Gundam the Origin as far as I know. He's working on something else called G-Reko. Plus from what I've seen of the Seed Remaster, the only changes are purely visual and nothing else. If/When Destiny gets the remaster treatment, it's gonna be the same shit as before.

@Boyoyoable - If you are a person who hates boring, one dimensional main character in a Gundam series, then avoid Wing or even Seed/Destiny. If you are a newcomer, go with 00 (characters dont make you pull your hair out or feel like you wanna punch them in the screen). Buuuuut... if you forgive anything that is related towards the classic ART STYLE from the oldies, then go with the original Gundam or Zeta Gundam. Stop right there only and decide yourself whether you wanna continue.
I thought Seed Destiny was a bitch slap to Gundam. The only thing I liked about Seed Destiny is the music, voice acting, and Mobile Suit designs and I understand that designs aren't original. I mean, who hasn't seen a Gundam with robotic wings or actual Angel wings? Other than that, it wasn't a great Gundam show. At least I'm enjoying Gundam AGE because it reminded me more about the Universal Century Gundam shows. Great Commentary by the way.
also for the record I'm saddened that Seed fanboys try to defend that Kira is the main character *tries not to laugh* Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Kira in Seed but Shinn was as you mention different than most Gundam protagonists so it was a good change of pace. Anyway, I'm getting off subject, Kira fans claimed that it wasn't called Destiny due to the Destiny Gundam but because of Durandal's Destiny plan.....it still shocks me that I was so narrow minded.

@maverickhunterdelta Call me a newfag but 00 seemed pretty solid to me. The second season did have its bad times but the majority characters helped me through. (ignoring Saji, Louise, and Marina) Seed got better once the Freedom and Justice came along and they stopped being like original Gundam and became its own show. That's the main flaw I see with Seed/Destiny, they tried too hard to be like other Gundams instead of being their own. I'm a fan of Athrun and Setsuna.

Setsuna is freaking badass, the pacing wasn't irritating compared to SEED, and yea, S2 was awsome. Even the fight between ribbons and setsuna, that was the epic highlight o the series for me.
@maverickhunterdelta The reason I consider myself a Newfag is because I have a hard time watching older Gundams, I have seen and loved 08th MS team and I saw most of Zeta but I can't stand original or ZZ. I do figure that I don't like original because I know everything just from the games and character bios so there isn't any real point, plus the pacing is horrible. Mostly due to Sunrise needing to bring in new MS to keep the show going during its original run.
@CyberSlayer128 - Fair enough, but I was able to watch the Original though, and it was in those 3 Compilation movies. Because they added in newer animation. Check it out if you are interested or wanted to get back on it. You dont really need to have prior knowledge of ZZ *as long as you have enough depth within the Universal Century (like Zeta, which is a classic)*. Just say your a Newbie, cause the term "newfag" means you are a biased fan nut. I only use those for personal stuff
@CyberSlayer128 When it comes to original, I recommend the trilogy version. While much of the animation is the same as the TV series, it does add some new scenes or changes some things around. The third movie is mostly new animation and it looks very impressive for a show that was made in it's time.
@TheAnimeOverviewer I know about that film, I have seen the first one and half of the second but I've just been putting it off as I have been trying to find a website that has a good quality (and has the sound synced) F91 to watch then I plan to finish Zeta.
@Joseph132100 - ZZ wasn't really bad, since I was actually rooting for Kamille near the end of the series. The only thing about ZZ was the first earlier episodes, though later on, I'd take it over the SEED series anyday.
@maverickhunterdelta Yeah....looking back it wasnt that bad in fact it was pretty good as a carry over anime and at least it was better than certain Gundam anime. HOWEVER, it will NEVER even be able to touch Zeta as far as character development, skill of pilots, and realism (Bright NEVER gave any of them a brightslap and they ESPECIALLY needed it).

I'd say Banagher was just starting to figure it out during ep 4. Daguza taught B. to take responsibility and follow his heart, so B. decided to protect the civilians and use his gift to stop Loni. Besides, the real lesson from ep 3 was that no good comes from blind rage (killed Gilboa, nearly got Marida too), and B. was trying to apply that lesson. He finally used his newtype powers to do that at the end, but Riddhe didn't realize it and undid his work.
@TheAnimeOverviewer Well, I would say that I was impressed with it. But not as much as the first 3 episodes. With the Banshee coming onto the scene and the climax only 2 episodes away, we can only keep our hopes up.
@CyberSlayer128 - (continue) I thought Setsuna wasn't as emo compared to Kira, when you think about it. He is pretty much a veteran in the battlefield. Who could forget about the Sniper Gundam (Dynames/Cherudim), Ario/kyrios, or even Seravee and Virtue/Nadalee? Thought it was awsome seeing it in 720p hd. Check out Unicorn if you haven't yet :P.
@maverickhunterdelta I have been watching it, I consider it the most overrated Gundam in history, from what I hear from the rewrites in the OVA the novel is 1000x better. The writing for the OVA is god awful as it has made Benagher's character become like mid Seed when he should be more like Shinn when he had his mind cleared.

In the novel he shot the mobile armor Loni was piloting (Forget the name of it) of course he was hesitant but he had to and she wanted him to take it out and the only way to would kill her (and her brothers I believe) also another change they made changed Loni's character, in the novel her father is still alive, in fact he assigned her to the mobile armor. They changed her for the sake of having another case like Four from Zeta.
@CyberSlayer128 - Yea.... that made me (well I haven't had the time to read the novel version, but maybe later on) disappointed of this particular episode. However, this series pretty much is the continuation of the UC timeline (after Char's Counterattack). But when I rewatched the episode, it isn't too bad since it "kind of" makes sense to watch it through the second or third time? When you get down to it, the zeons and feddies were/are STILL at war for like from 100 years now.
@CyberSlayer128 - Whenever Banagher is faced with certain issues (angelo told him off, that was funny), he does make up some valid points on they were battling through years and years now, since the original. And do the Zeons and the Feddies changed since then? I think not xD
I used to like Destiny, and then I watched Zeta :P I still love SEED, cuz it got me into gundam in the first place, but with Destiny, I lied to myself trying to like it, when I remembered that I was really suffering from all the stupidity xP

I used to be a Kira-Fag until I saw other Gundams but my god I really am glad that I'm no longer like this guy, I used to go on praising the Strike Freedom (I still like it) but said it was the best and would rage if someone said otherwise. Plus, a fan not knowing what Jesus Yamato means isn't an actual fan of Seed/Destiny. I really wish that the last half had less brain cancer in the writing.

Or that Sunrise should use this remaster to have another director and writer (preferably ones that aren't married) for doing an actual rewrite? This could have been a chance for giving the CE another chance but it's more than likely not going to happen. Also, not saying I'm wanting it but I've been thinking that this is to jump start Seed again for models and....well....*sighs* a movie.
@CyberSlayer128 I doubt it. The HD remaster, the re-releasing of old HG's, and upcoming MG's, that's all because it's the 10th anniversary of Seed. It's not gonna lead to this massive revival or the movie. Plus the ending of Destiny killed off any possibility for a new movie. Unless they re-tread the same old coordinator vs natural story, or have the characters act out of character. The only way a Seed movie can be doable is if they rewrite Destiny, which is not gonna happen.

That's a interesting subject to think of. I have also been thinking on how Seed Destiny and it would be nice if anyone could share some thoughts with me.
But I have to say, and I know I may get some stick for this, I do kinda like the mobile suit designs, not all of them though. And I'm not saying they are the best looking ones out of all gundam universes. I have a master grade strike freedom and I do think it kinda looks badass. But it's just a shame that the series it came from didn't do so well. But that all being said, I really wanna see seed stargazer. From what I've heard from others and you overviewer, it's a breath of fresh air from the
@Valentineskidd I like most of the mecha designs too. And even though I'm not a fan of the Strike Freedom's design, the master grade and perfect grade do look good. I just don't think the mecha designs are original.
And in the end I just tuned right out of it. Not really paying any attention to any other faults I just gave up on it. BUT, I saw both 1/2 and 2/2 boxes of seed destiny on the shelf. I thought, maybe it gets better? Maybe it improves from seed? Nope. To be honest I found it pretty much the same. Right down to the final boss fight. The name escapes me but even the two final bosses of the two series look the same. I was really disappointed...
In the beginning, I purchased seed because I was getting into gundam modelling so I thought hey, why not get the actual anime? So I got both 1/2 and 2/2 boxes and at first I though it was alright, being new to gundam I didn't know any better. But as I was progressing through it I just found my self becoming... Bored with it. The recycled footage was one of my major gripes with it. It reminds me of an animated show I watched as a kid called 'Heavy Gear', which was just pure recycled footage. I t

Seed destiny is what happens with an animation budget of $3.73, a writers budget of $1.21 and a paper clip, and an editor who was paid in gum. Not even trident layers.

My thing is I can say that I like Gundam Seed Destiny by technically cheating....I don't consider the TV series itself to be canon. I see it's appearance in SRW Z to be canon. Shinn's seiyu himself stated that he felt Shinn's character is more accurately depicted in Z, and believes that version of Shinn as the "True Shinn Asuka" so to speak. And I figure, well, if he says it, and that version is honestly way more likeable and understanding, why not just go with it?
@TheAnimeOverviewer What essentially happens is Kira gets called out for what he does by Harry Ord in a particularly cool scene, and Shinn's interactions with Setsuko (the main heroine), Quattro Bajeena, Amuro, and especially with Kamille all help him gain a much better perspective on everything that goes on throughout Destiny's plot.

The second was your use of the term "racism" to describe the naturals vs. coordinators debate. A more correct term is actually "eugenics", and which was used to justify racism, but is not racism itself per se, as it can be used to create segregation even within peoples of similar racial backgrounds. Ethnic cleansing is eugenics taken to its furthest extreme.
Actually there was a couple of things I disagree with you on. First, Shinn's status as a displaced main character. While he did share some things in common with many Gundam protagonists, I never really felt, even from early on, that he was going to be able to carry the show on his own as the main character, he just seemed to weak. This was only reinforced when I realized that Shinn's character development had stagnated. Once Kira reappeared, I knew for sure that was the death knell for Destiny.
@KdogPrime Well apparently from what I've heard, Athrun is Morosawa's favorite character. That could explain alot. I would've been if Shinn wasn't so much a hero as much as he was an anti-hero. I would've been fine with that. Shinn always struck me as a rebellious character then suddenly for no real, logical reason, he becomes a lapdog to Durandal, and he pretty much has Rey thinking for him.

I recently read in wikipedia that in the story line of Seed and Seed destiny yazak got court martialed for killing the bunch of civilians in the shuttle after Seed and before Seed destiny, now i would have love to see that. and something similar done to Shin: to see him and the rest of the chars come to terms with what they had actually done.
I'll start this by saying that i like SEED and SEED Destiny, but i do see the big flaws the series and the one before it has. IMO SEED Destiny ha a lot of potential that went wasted, infact with a few story changes and two more episodes as a epilogue i thinks Destiny would have been far better a story. The way they made Shin look towards the end made me hate the guy, purely for his stupidity. and yeah Kira is a bit godmodded but i good story idea could have made him far more human than he was.
I'm surprised no one addresses about the guy (Otakuvideo dude) stutters in every word, sentences, and syllables he spoke throughout the video. (Off-topic on the argument on Destiny) It would be funnier Chris if you inserted a "Samuel L. Jackson, Pulp Fiction" referrence in this xD.
Here's what Fukuda said concerning GSD in the SRW games:
"To be honest, I'm not very happy. The original story is complete as it is, so it's outrageous to add or modify the images and script. However, games are a different media so I think it's fine. The thing I hate most about the games are that even though they use the name (Gundam SEED Destiny), the contents are totally no good."
As for the "Who's the main character of Destiny?" question, Athrun had the most screentime throughout GSD. And the TV movies retells the show from Athrun's POV.
Morosawa claimed in an interview that Athrun was her favorite character, alongside Lacus.

@TheAnimeOverviewer I don't know if you said it already, but while Shinn was popular in his own right, he wasn't getting over as Sunrise expected (compared to Athrun and esp. Kira).
Meanwhile, Kira was still crazy over with the Japanese audience, as was Athrun and Lacus. I don't what the original ratings were like, but I've read that it was lower than the original Seed.
I think that Sunrise bent to the UC and the Kira fanbase with GSD.

@TheAnimeOverviewer I guess that this is pretty much Sunrise's current MO when it comes to characters: how much screentime the character gets is proportional to how popular s/he is with the audience. For example, Feldt (a supporting character) had more screentime in G00 because she ranked high in the Gundam Ace polls, prolly because, to the Japanese fans, she's Lacus 2.0 with the pink hair and Haro (despite Feldt and Lacus being different characters).

And to add on to the "Fukuda being demanding on the VAs" rumor, Naomi Shindo (Cagalli's VA) began criticizing on how Cagalli was portrayed in Destiny, and when Suzumura and Maaya Sakamoto (Luna's VA) backed Shindo, we all know the result.
Suzumura dropped hints on his Twitter account that Fukuda was also demanding on Sakamoto, in the same comment when he called the SRW-Z incarnation of Shinn the "real Shinn in his heart".
@JimHawkwind03411 I heard alot about that. I wanna see SRW Z translated just to see how Shinn ends up in that game. I heard he gets proper character development in that. And when Fukuda heard about Suzumura's comment, he went off his rocker. That's what I heard anyway.

It wasn't just Fukuda and Morosawa's fault; blame should also go to the Sunrise/Bandai executives, as they were also trying to pander to the diehard UC fanbase by including the references to the original MSG (CE retreads of the Zaku and Gouf, Heine's "NO ZAKU!" line, Kira disabling 23 mechs in the SF being an obvious homage to Amuro downing 9 Rick Doms), and even bringing in Shuichi Ikeda (Char's VA) to voice Durandal.
As for Morosawa's "brain cancer" rumors, it wasn't brain cancer. Depending on the source, she had breast cancer or uterine fibroids.
My cynical side tells me that the "cancer" excuse means that she's going through a severe depression phase a la Tomino during Victory Gundam and Anno during Evangelion.

There's this one guy named SilverWorldEnter who went on some of my other Gundam reviews and not only was he putting words in my mouth, he kept going on about how good Seed and Destiny are even though he hasn't seen any other Gundam series. As far as I'm concerned, he was trolling so I blocked him.
@TheAnimeOverviewer Yeah there's that lot as well and I honestly pity them. There was one guy I argued with way back where he said Newtypes were bullshit and stupid while Coordinators are the best thing ever so to speak. Even refused to watch original Gundam just because of the animation.

@williamfan210 I did, but I don't hate the Destiny Gundam. I could care less about it's color scheme. To me its biggest crime is not it's unoriginality, but rather it not living up to being the main suit of the show, and for being in the worst 10 episodes of the worst Gundam series.

He refuses to acknowledge flaws, and at the same make positive statements about the show that are never made apparent at all in the show. In fact, there really wasnt a major reason to bring Kira and Athrun back except for fanservice. And, of course, fanservice is what killed. I honestly hope that Tomino takes the chance to make a remake with this whole Remastery thing. Only chance I see for redeeming himself with this.

@Joseph132100 Tomino has nothing to do with the Seed series. And I doubt he even cares. He's not even involved with Gundam the Origin as far as I know. He's working on something else called G-Reko. Plus from what I've seen of the Seed Remaster, the only changes are purely visual and nothing else. If/When Destiny gets the remaster treatment, it's gonna be the same shit as before.

(continued)...who was Mu La Flaga. as for the rest...eh...not so much. the acting was done poorly, the animation (namely the stock footage, and flashbacks, and recap episodes, and etc,) writing (especially the writing) the characters (both design and development) and the overall execution were done in a pisspoor fashion. there was so much potential in this! it could have been a Great Gundam series.but sadly in house politics and a few other negative things within the crew officially killed it.

@Boyoyoable - If you are a person who hates boring, one dimensional main character in a Gundam series, then avoid Wing or even Seed/Destiny. If you are a newcomer, go with 00 (characters dont make you pull your hair out or feel like you wanna punch them in the screen). Buuuuut... if you forgive anything that is related towards the classic ART STYLE from the oldies, then go with the original Gundam or Zeta Gundam. Stop right there only and decide yourself whether you wanna continue.

I thought Seed Destiny was a bitch slap to Gundam. The only thing I liked about Seed Destiny is the music, voice acting, and Mobile Suit designs and I understand that designs aren't original. I mean, who hasn't seen a Gundam with robotic wings or actual Angel wings? Other than that, it wasn't a great Gundam show. At least I'm enjoying Gundam AGE because it reminded me more about the Universal Century Gundam shows. Great Commentary by the way.

also for the record I'm saddened that Seed fanboys try to defend that Kira is the main character *tries not to laugh* Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed Kira in Seed but Shinn was as you mention different than most Gundam protagonists so it was a good change of pace. Anyway, I'm getting off subject, Kira fans claimed that it wasn't called Destiny due to the Destiny Gundam but because of Durandal's Destiny plan.....it still shocks me that I was so narrow minded.

@maverickhunterdelta Call me a newfag but 00 seemed pretty solid to me. The second season did have its bad times but the majority characters helped me through. (ignoring Saji, Louise, and Marina) Seed got better once the Freedom and Justice came along and they stopped being like original Gundam and became its own show. That's the main flaw I see with Seed/Destiny, they tried too hard to be like other Gundams instead of being their own. I'm a fan of Athrun and Setsuna.

@maverickhunterdelta The reason I consider myself a Newfag is because I have a hard time watching older Gundams, I have seen and loved 08th MS team and I saw most of Zeta but I can't stand original or ZZ. I do figure that I don't like original because I know everything just from the games and character bios so there isn't any real point, plus the pacing is horrible. Mostly due to Sunrise needing to bring in new MS to keep the show going during its original run.

Check it out if you are interested or wanted to get back on it. You dont really need to have prior knowledge of ZZ *as long as you have enough depth within the Universal Century (like Zeta, which is a classic)*. Just say your a Newbie, cause the term "newfag" means you are a biased fan nut. I only use those for personal stuff

@CyberSlayer128 When it comes to original, I recommend the trilogy version. While much of the animation is the same as the TV series, it does add some new scenes or changes some things around. The third movie is mostly new animation and it looks very impressive for a show that was made in it's time.

I'd say Banagher was just starting to figure it out during ep 4. Daguza taught B. to take responsibility and follow his heart, so B. decided to protect the civilians and use his gift to stop Loni. Besides, the real lesson from ep 3 was that no good comes from blind rage (killed Gilboa, nearly got Marida too), and B. was trying to apply that lesson. He finally used his newtype powers to do that at the end, but Riddhe didn't realize it and undid his work.

@maverickhunterdelta I have been watching it, I consider it the most overrated Gundam in history, from what I hear from the rewrites in the OVA the novel is 1000x better. The writing for the OVA is god awful as it has made Benagher's character become like mid Seed when he should be more like Shinn when he had his mind cleared.

In the novel he shot the mobile armor Loni was piloting (Forget the name of it) of course he was hesitant but he had to and she wanted him to take it out and the only way to would kill her (and her brothers I believe) also another change they made changed Loni's character, in the novel her father is still alive, in fact he assigned her to the mobile armor. They changed her for the sake of having another case like Four from Zeta.

However, this series pretty much is the continuation of the UC timeline (after Char's Counterattack). But when I rewatched the episode, it isn't too bad since it "kind of" makes sense to watch it through the second or third time? When you get down to it, the zeons and feddies were/are STILL at war for like from 100 years now.

Or that Sunrise should use this remaster to have another director and writer (preferably ones that aren't married) for doing an actual rewrite? This could have been a chance for giving the CE another chance but it's more than likely not going to happen. Also, not saying I'm wanting it but I've been thinking that this is to jump start Seed again for models and....well....*sighs* a movie.

@CyberSlayer128 I doubt it. The HD remaster, the re-releasing of old HG's, and upcoming MG's, that's all because it's the 10th anniversary of Seed. It's not gonna lead to this massive revival or the movie. Plus the ending of Destiny killed off any possibility for a new movie. Unless they re-tread the same old coordinator vs natural story, or have the characters act out of character. The only way a Seed movie can be doable is if they rewrite Destiny, which is not gonna happen.

And in the end I just tuned right out of it. Not really paying any attention to any other faults I just gave up on it. BUT, I saw both 1/2 and 2/2 boxes of seed destiny on the shelf. I thought, maybe it gets better? Maybe it improves from seed? Nope. To be honest I found it pretty much the same. Right down to the final boss fight. In the beginning, I purchased seed because I was getting into gundam modelling so I thought hey, why not get the actual anime? My thing is I can say that I like Gundam Seed Destiny by technically cheating....I don't consider the TV series itself to be canon. I see it's appearance in SRW Z to be canon. @TheAnimeOverviewer What essentially happens is Kira gets called out for what he does by Harry Ord in a particularly cool scene, and Shinn's interactions with Setsuko (the main heroine), Quattro Bajeena, Amuro, and especially with Kamille all help him gain a much better perspective on everything that goes on throughout Destiny's plot.

Probably because of the fact that it took a VIDEO GAME to fix Shinn's ENTIRE CHARACTER DEVELOPMENT. That's why not.

The second was your use of the term "racism" to describe the naturals vs. coordinators debate. A more correct term is actually "eugenics", and which was used to justify racism, but is not racism itself per se, as it can be used to create segregation even within peoples of similar racial backgrounds. Ethnic cleansing is eugenics taken to its furthest extreme.

Actually there was a couple of things I disagree with you on. First, Shinn's status as a displaced main character. While he did share some things in common with many Gundam protagonists, I never really felt, even from early on, that he was going to be able to carry the show on his own as the main character, he just seemed to weak. This was only reinforced when I realized that Shinn's character development had stagnated. Once Kira reappeared, I knew for sure that was the death knell for Destiny.

@KdogPrime Well apparently from what I've heard, Athrun is Morosawa's favorite character. That could explain alot. I would've been if Shinn wasn't so much a hero as much as he was an anti-hero. I would've been fine with that. Shinn always struck me as a rebellious character then suddenly for no real, logical reason, he becomes a lapdog to Durandal, and he pretty much has Rey thinking for him.

I recently read in wikipedia that in the story line of Seed and Seed destiny yazak got court martialed for killing the bunch of civilians in the shuttle after Seed and before Seed destiny, now i would have love to see that. and something similar done to Shin: to see him and the rest of the chars come to terms with what they had actually done.

I'll start this by saying that i like SEED and SEED Destiny, but i do see the big flaws the series and the one before it has. IMO SEED Destiny ha a lot of potential that went wasted, infact with a few story changes and two more episodes as a epilogue i thinks Destiny would have been far better a story. The way they made Shin look towards the end made me hate the guy, purely for his stupidity. and yeah Kira is a bit godmodded but i good story idea could have made him far more human than he was.

"To be honest, I'm not very happy. The original story is complete as it is, so it's outrageous to add or modify the images and script. However, games are a different media so I think it's fine. As for the "Who's the main character of Destiny?" question, Athrun had the most screentime throughout GSD. And the TV movies retells the show from Athrun's POV.
Morosawa claimed in an interview that Athrun was her favorite character, alongside Lacus.

@TheAnimeOverviewer I don't know if you said it already, but while Shinn was popular in his own right, he wasn't getting over as Sunrise expected (compared to Athrun and esp. Kira).
Meanwhile, Kira was still crazy over with the Japanese audience, as was Athrun and Lacus. I don't what the original ratings were like, but I've read that it was lower than the original Seed.
I think that Sunrise bent to the UC and the Kira fanbase with GSD.

@TheAnimeOverviewer I guess that this is pretty much Sunrise's current MO when it comes to characters: how much screentime the character gets is proportional to how popular s/he is with the audience. For example, Feldt (a supporting character) had more screentime in G00 because she ranked high in the Gundam Ace polls, prolly because, to the Japanese fans, she's Lacus 2.0 with the pink hair and Haro (despite Feldt and Lacus being different characters).

And to add on to the "Fukuda being demanding on the VAs" rumor, Naomi Shindo (Cagalli's VA) began criticizing on how Cagalli was portrayed in Destiny, and when Suzumura and Maaya Sakamoto (Luna's VA) backed Shindo, we all know the result.
Suzumura dropped hints on his Twitter account that Fukuda was also demanding on Sakamoto, in the same comment when he called the SRW-Z incarnation of Shinn the "real Shinn in his heart".

It wasn't just Fukuda and Morosawa's fault; blame should also go to the Sunrise/Bandai executives, as they were also trying to pander to the diehard UC fanbase by including the references to the original MSG (CE retreads of the Zaku and Gouf, Heine's "NO ZAKU!" line, Kira disabling 23 mechs in the SF being an obvious homage to Amuro downing 9 Rick Doms), and even bringing in Shuichi Ikeda (Char's VA) to voice Durandal.

As for Morosawa's "brain cancer" rumors, it wasn't brain cancer. Depending on the source, she had breast cancer or uterine fibroids.
My cynical side tells me that the "cancer" excuse means that she's going through a severe depression phase a la Tomino during Victory Gundam and Anno during Evangelion.

@williamfan210 I did, but I don't hate the Destiny Gundam. I could care less about it's color scheme. To me its biggest crime is not it's unoriginality, but rather it not living up to being the main suit of the show, and for being in the worst 10 episodes of the worst Gundam series.
