Pro: Good overall sound, LOUD !!

Cons: Heavy as hell, the shared EQ for the two channels. The two channels have a complete different character so what sounds good on the clean sounds bad on the lead and viceversa. The solution is (IMHO) to use one of the two channels and use some pedal in front of it.

I bought the wonderful fender super 60 in 1988 made in USA. It works beautifully, its sound is warm and unmistakable! Great sound!!!

Great tone, awesome feeling from your fingers. Very soulful. Your amp and pedal settings are spot on for that Knoffler, SRV, Johnson, Cray, Clapton, etc., type blues sound. I don't know why some musicians knock the red knob amps. They have a great history and heritage of being the first amps released from the new Fender when bought back from CBS. I have a Stage 185 that just sings like no other brand.

@rdownings Thanks ! The "red knb" amps are really good. The only "strange" thing I noticed (..on mine) is how different the two channels are in term of EQ. Anyway, once you set up your tone on your favorite channel, I thinks it's awesome !

@MbM20100 yeah I only use the drive channel set just at the edge of breakup and boost it into OD territory. Plus, the 60 watts is rated from the drive channel, so it is much louder than the clean channel. I find that just works better than dealing with the weird EQ voicing on the different channels.

This video cemented my decision to purchase the Super 60 head off ebay! Excellent playing and excellent tone! SRV and Robert Cray would be proud! I too use a TS 808 and a Stratocaster. I bought the Super 60 head to power my Orange 4X12 cab alongside my 65 Super Reverb Reissue in my live rig. I like to blend the sounds of the open cab and a closed back. But again, excellent playing and really good tone!

Davvero bravo, bel tocco, ottima dinamica e si sente che quando suoni ti diverti da matti. Fatta con cura anche la base. Complimenti, è un piacere ascoltare questa registrazione! Sto acquistando ora un ts 808 da abbinare al mio tube driver della buttler...se la qualità del ts è questa verrà davvero una cosa stupefacente (uso un fender deville)!

Ho da poco preso un backup per il TS-808, si tratta del TS-7 sempre Ibanez. Beh…a parte il prezzo, le differenze sono davvero minime !

Si, l'ampli è a valvole. Usa due 12AX7 nel pre, una 12AT7 come readdrizzatrice e due 6L6GC nel finale.

Nuovo...no....non è ancora "vintage" ma è sicuramente roba del secolo scorso ! :-))

E' un ampli a due canali che Fender ha prodotto tra il 1988 ed il 1992... e che si narra sia stato progettato da Rivera....ma in rete si leggono talmente tante cose.. :-))
