@craigneilpearson i'd love to have beckford still, but even though they are players that bring different qualities to the pitch, we will do fine with Becchio, especially with Somma here too! Snodgrass firing, Howson contionuing to grow into a good attacking midfielder, among others ... as long as we continue to improve and strengthen a bit more defensively (kisnorbo back soonish will help!), we'll be a championship team at least! :)

I'm very sad we lost Beckford, but I suppose now in hindsight, it was bound to happen. We would've benefited greatly having him in this season, but now we've gone in another direction and hopefully it works for us!

But i will say that i don't think beckford was ever lacking committment, evident by him getting it done for us as captain in the last game. But I agree that we can find someone who can fill the void he has left! I hope so anyway!

@blueroomexit Max Gradel would have a really good game, and then the next he would be the complete opposite. Don't get it twisted I like Max, but he makes too many silly mistakes, like putting the ball in the wrong place into the box or at the wrong time. What I mean is that he's decent, but he isn't a very conistently smart player.

@blueroomexit yes that may be true but you can't put a price on the goals he scored for us, and as for being dropped to the bench, i wasn't happy with that, i'd have him in there over max gradel anyday. Gradel's decent but too inconsistent, plus he makes dumb decisions. And it's obviousa he's not gonna score as many goals, he's moving up 2 divisions. And for some of those players, matteo was already getting old, kewell was unlucky with all his injuries, and viduka was class for middlesborough

@DrSamular7 and also, Delph did what beckford is about to do - jump 2 divisions. He is only 20, he's talented, but he's got a,long way to go. You can't just expect Delph to just slot into villa's regular squad when he leaves just cos he was good for us, they're a quality premiership side, with a lot of talent. he will make it, but it will take some time as he has only just made the jump and he is still very young.

@stumpyeverton2006 yeah I reckon you guys will do better this season, I doubt you'll have such a sluggish start like you did last season. I remember spurs started the last couple of seasons quite poorly, and ended strong. But this season they starte well and got top 4, so you guys can definitely do it!

I am disappointed that he is going, but for everything he has done for us, especially this last season gone (and particularly final day of the season), I hope that he does extremely well in the Premier League and proves all those doubters wrong who don't think he's good enough!
