CRT dont make 10 meter radios, they make cb radio that are markeded as 10 meter radios to get them into the uk market, there cheap junk, dont confuse them with icom, kenwood or other makes, you take your money and get what you get,if you are on a budget there are ok,but no high grade radios, but there ok for the money, audio is not bad either.
@battlestarone What.???. this is a CRT 2 Meter 144-145 MHZ (as in VHF!!) radio and for your information I have VHF radios made by Yaesu/Icom and Kenwood and this is every bit as good.
Hi Dave, Good review! I am currently experimenting with the CRT 2M to make a Simplex repeater. Since it can RX and TX on different frequencies. I got a good software from Gabriel f6dqm1 in France to run on Windows server 2008 R2, the TX switching uses the RS232 port, just read from the provided schematic using 2 resistors and 1 diode and 1 transistor. This makes the TX switch. I am just waiting on a female gender changer for the RS232 port, then I can test it out probably on Tuesday next week!
@2e1dxy Yes it does me.........I have owned an FT1500M from new and it has been in my van for around 8 years, never been a problem......if the CRT is as good as that it's a jem!!
@VictoreCelia Its an Anytone or Comtex and it retails for around 99-129 euros. Add the programming cable and works a real treat. Use them here on UHF and also VHF. 73s
Nice review Dave. Just watching you tune the radio @4m53s. Looks like it will tune in 2.5kHz steps?

Hi,
Interesting review. Now you've had it for six months, what are you impressions of it?
Have any problems surfaced with it, do you still think it's a good 2m radio, even though the Yaesu FT 1902 & 2900 are cheaper?
Thanks. :)
