i bought my first rubik's cube 4 days ago and my average is around 2:30...i suck :(... but my goal is 1:30 by the end of the year and 1 minute by the time i turn 15 lol ^_^ btw...great job! ur awesome!
Yeah I recently tried lubricating the cube with soap water, but then the soap dried and now it keeps jamming the cube, and my best time is 1:51. If you practice like several solves a day for a couple weeks, you'll get better, but 1:10 to 1:30 is about the range where you can't get any better without lubricating the cube or using hand tricks with this method.
Not sure, but my dad didn't mix it up too well so after I finished the first layer I had only 4 edge pieces on the 2nd and 3rd layers that were misplaced, so I used this trick I'd figured out earlier to switch them around.
My fastest is 1:25 too

keep practicing..i'm sure you'll be faster w/ finger tricks..my fastest time for the Layer By Layer method is 54 seconds.

the best way to lubricate a cube is to use silocone spray!!! watch some tutorials on how to lubricate proporly. my best time is 54 secomds

Lol I couldn't find any silicone spray, so I just used vegetable oil. It's definitely not as good, but it works.

New record: 27 seconds, but it was an extremely lucky solve, so if you don't want it to count I've got 56 seconds (done today)
