They've got it backward. NBC hardly "bows to Leno's every whim." It was their idea to give Conan the Tonight Show in the first place although Leno was ahead in the ratings, their idea to put Leno on at 10, and their idea to move him to 11:30 when the 10:00 show flopped. He asked to be let out of his contract but they wouldn't let him. I liked Conan on the Tonight Show better, but the fact is he wasn't pulling in the ratings and that's what "the biz" is all about.
