Your a true inspiration to this 17 year old who hops to become a musician and a lot of other people around the world aswell. Thank you for everything you gave us, through the good, the bad and the ugly, we will always miss you. RIP and Love.

  • A very nice song, it's terrible to think about the fact that John was recording it in the days he was killed.

  • Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be. ~ Robert Browning

    music by Lennon

    together; Perfection! So touching.

  • the world misses you john!!! we love u

  • I love this! The original tape for this song was in a box Yoko found that said "For Paul" that makes it 100000 times cuter :)

  • First dance at a wedding? I think so

  • @TheRockinGinger its to personal to be played in public, better alone together

  • Johns most touching song ever !! One of the greatest songs

  • Best song ever!

  • John Lennon was BUSH-whacked.

  • Even in this rough, unpolished state, this song remains unimaginably beautiful.

  • @Samalamalamdam He is God of music... founder of the beatles...half of lennon/mccartney... what else do u need to know?

  • i love it very much

  • I don't mean to offend anyone but I don't understand why people is so fixated with his music. I mean, some songs are good but some people put him on a pedestal, I just don't understand.

  • @NevermindVzla No offense taken; however, your 22 and probably don't know much about Lennon... if you did, you'd find him one of the most remarkable people to have graced this planet last century. His music reflects his thoughts and feelings... John was a creative genius, an outspoken person against things he saw in the world that he didn't think were right, and he was someone who united people. He was and Yoko still is a peacemaker. This is an incredibly beautiful love prayer about REAL LOVE!!!

  • 16 people who do not want to grow old with his love

  • JWL - You touched us all, we will never forget your legacy. thank you.

  • I hope that one day in the future i will feel the same happiness that John felt when he met Yoko

  • 16 people wanted to kill John Lennon. D:

  • its so adorable how he helps her do her hair. I mean isn't that what everyone wants, someone to love them in every aspect and do everything with them? They had it, and its wrong that they couldn't grow old together...:(

  • what a song...it is timeless --epic....can you believe it..it is unfinished.

  • God bless his soul!

  • Haha, maybe next time John.

  • @nudaydawning

    In hindsight bro.

  • This makes me sad cause John died young :(

  • His songs never fail to touch me.

  • Is not all about the physical world, there is a spiritual world which is much better! I think they are still connected in someway!! out the blue and this song tells you about a love that not even the evilest thing could end! Viva El Amor!

  • Ok, that video was really sweet and extremely difficult to watch given the reality.

  • :')

  • AS LONG AS WE KEEP HITTING THE PLAY BUTTON LENNON WILL NEVER DIE

IMAGINE ALL THE PEOPLE LIVING THEIR LIFES IN PEACE

  • JOhn Lennon are dead

  • The 16 that disliked this must be Mark David Chapman's relatives, although, I hope you find peace Mark, you don't deserve it, but to say anything less would be against what John was speaking about, peace

  • Very sad they never grew old together. They will see each other in heaven and keep dancing. God remembers those with hearts of gold like John's.

  • John Lennon was In Love with Love!

  • god bless you JOHN LENNON RJK

  • My mother and father had this song sang at their wedding. It was a beautiful song they told me. I guess before my father proposed to her my mom, John lennon was shot. My dad basically grew up loving the beatles along with my mom. My dad thinks this song was almost like a gift from john to him before he died. I thought that was a true love story.<3 Thank you john for having my parents be with eachother because of you, this song is their song togather.. forever<3(:

  • esta cancion tiene la misma melodia que memories de el mismo john..uhmm

  • 16 people still haven't found someone to grow old with.

  • Two beautiful soulmates :)

  • i played lennons grow old with me for my wedding song...very awesume lyrics and melody..0n 9 9 09

  • @thedudeluvspeace9 That's really cool to know that despite this song being unfinished, that people are out there playing it at their wedding 30 odd years after the original recording. It is a shame however that we'll never know if this could have turned into something big like 'Imagine.' It had that potential IMO.

  • @ShelterDogs i actually didnt know it wasnt finished..im glad i used it..i actually went thru all my music and that one screamed at me..

i am among one of "those"who thinks..no matter what all the others say...that despite what is said about yoko being whatever...he loved her and wrote some really great stuff while he was with her...

the other song i absolutely love and played at my wedding was'out of the blue'

can u let me know how you know about the song not being finished

  • @thedudeluvspeace9 John Lennon wrote "Grow Old With Me" while on holiday in Bermuda (June/July 1980). That is where he wrote many of the songs that are included on Double Fantasy. It was originally meant to be on this album, but there wasn't enough time to finish and record the song in the studio. So they planned on recording it in 1981 for Milk & Honey instead. This version was recorded in John and Yoko's bedroom, November 1980. But you can hear other versions he recorded earlier in Bermuda.

  • ohhh He really loved her ... she was soooo lucky to married someone like John :)

  • Beautiful lyrics, beautiful melody! John just keeps on amazing me more n more!

  • wondewrfull

  • He truly was a musical genius.

  • Listen to my acoustic cover, hmpfdroop on youtube, for John !

  • RIP

  • rip...

  • r.i.p John..today was the date you died and i still cry over it.God Bless you now and forever

  • Aw, I love Yoko. And Lennon? They were perfect for each other.

  • I remember hearing the news like most people watching Monday Night Football. hard to believe that 30 years have passed since that God awful night. The world's a much better place for his life and that's always a good measure to go by. His death was senseless and deprived him of his future which by 1980 looked very bright.

  • It's hard to fathom that it's been 30 years. It still hurts my heart.

  • Amazing genius of the music

  • i miss u john. it breaks my heart to think that you are only a voice now. Thank you for all of your great music. Such passion is very rarely found. I cant imagine all the great songs you couldve created if it wasnt for mark david chapman. when u died. Music came with you.

  • angelusgarielus, actually Yoko has been able to grow old with John. Just like the rest of us who loved him. As we grow old and see the end coming we have the comfort and joy he gave us as we all grow old with him...

  • It was on milk and honey. I waited forever to get that cassette. It breaks my heart every time I hear this song.

  • It was on milk and honey. I waited forever to get that cassette.

  • i cant hear im deaf n dumd but i can Touch u MY LOVE,I wish u LOVEx

  • u knew i would if im still Herexxxxxxxxxxx MY LOVER Gx

  • grow old with me, everybody! :)

  • it's sad because he didn't have a chance to grow old. :(

  • John , why did you have to go?

The world is weird without you.

  • John is best.

Why did you have to go?

The world is so strange without you...

  • This was going to be the sunset dance song on our wedding ... this used to make me tear up with rage and self-loathing evertime i heard it for months after she cast our love aside, now i see things differently and can listen to our songs without feeling too much sorrow. Beautiful song, but my advice is don't let your love consume your individualism.

  • we grew old with him through music.

  • god bless our love =) i want this song to be my wedding song, i think is just perfect for that moment, god bless you John, for making such beautiful music

  • Sounds so much like Julian

  • Sounds so much like Julian

  • Yoko must be ok because John loved her

  • maestro, song maestro, his voice like that of an over-child -- we lucky, happy are to have known you -- all that you did Johno has much more meaning, significance and penultimate value

  • FELEZ CUMPLE!!!!!!

    ERES EL MÁS GRANDE

  • Sigh! As I type I am reminded that John would have been 70 had be lived. 70!!!!

  • these videos are from a film calld blood on the floor, I watched it in 1997 and since then I want to get it, but I could not.

  • I realize that I love his voice so much. Is in my heart. LOve John Forever.

  • Is a very beautiful song.

  • good tune, cheating cow

  • @SuperGashy Grow up.

  • sadly this is one of his last songs..its soo sad cause he was the greatest and his music was always going with the time era and generation..when i hear this song is like a time machine..it takes me back 2 the year 1980 wich when it was recorded so was double fantasy..he was a man of his time from 1970 till 1980

  • bellaimages - Their love for each other has nothing to do with the money I spent wanting only to hear John.

I wonder if they ever showed this video to Chapman.

  • "God bless our love"

  • I heard this song was actually for Paul.

  • @MirokuGirl14

    i heard the same thing

  • "Grow old along with me, the best is yet to be...God bless our love, God bless our love" ~ dedicated to my beautiful fiancee :)

  • shame he never got to grow old with her, breaks my heart

  • @angelusgabrielus1982 Beautifully said. Those who hate Yoko forget (or ignore) the love between them.

  • @danbeatless Thank you

  • @angelusgabrielus1982 FUCK MARK DAVID CHAPMAN !!!!!!! :'((

  • I love the LENNON ANTHOLOGY version of this song!

  • This song is very sad :( but a masterpice. His last recording with the other songs "Free As A Bird", "Real Love" and "Now And Then". :( so sad. Lennon will live forever. Screw Mark David Chapman. How can he kill such a loving person who just wanted some peace?

  • The Beatles were supposed to do this, but it required too much work in 1995, it seems okay to me....

  • who made this video? where did u get it?

i like this version the most, the remastered and the one with orchestra doesnt sound as good

  • @mekore I think this is the official video. I remember seeing it on MTV. This version of the song was on the album "Milk and Honey", I think.

  • @leia176oo thx for the info, now i should find the unremastered milk and honey cd :)

  • @leia176oo yes! is the "Milk and Honey"

  • @leia176oo It is off the album "Milk and Honey."

  • I wonder if he had lived might there be peace in our world today. I miss him terribly...

  • @2224612

He left us all he could.

"I hope some day you'll join us

And the world will live as one."

  • God bless our love.

  • John seem to reach a creative apogee whilst married to Yoko, so regardless as to whether or not I understand that, I appreciate that...

  • all you need is love- and peace. John was happy and that's all that matters, none of us lived in his shoes or have the right to critique his life. He was an amazing musicians and quite wise and had the guts to stand up to the world and say the truth about things unlike other people

  • Just the fact that he couldn't grow old with Yoko makes me just break down :'/

  • Everyone should have that kind of joy.

  • start to cry :(

  • God bless our love?

    He was an atheist.

  • @TheTheJPShow

He was actually RAISED a christian...and he was an agnostic not athiest

  • La mejor marcha nupcial jamas escrita; otra de las canciones inmortales de John. God bless you John

  • This is it... John Lennon. Period.

  • John cantaba muy bien, nada y nunca habra nadie que cante como John.

  • Does that include being brought to the studio telling everyone how this song should be played and how it should be arranged like they were part of the band. Or bringing beds to the studio?

  • Well you got your wish some American maniac (and there are quite a few American maniacs) murdered him so he won't be seen in front of a camera again. Hope that makes you feel happy. You seem like a sad bastard to me. Hope your proud of your nation - Lennon murderers.

  • If they were so in love why did they one time seperated and Yoko forced her assistant May Pang to get involved with John. John was then in love with May until one day Yoko calls him telling him she found a cure to stop smoking and then they were back together from then on. If you're in love fine but bringing your wife or your girlfriend to where you work like John did with The Beatles is not right or healthy. Nobody in this day and age would do that. It can drive anyone nuts.

  • @cometandcupids do you seriously think they were living in the real world? And I wouldn't begin to guess how many rock stars and movie stars bring their girlfriend, boyfriends, husbands or wives to work with them. It's not like working at AT&T, get real.

  • @cometandcupids I don't understand your closed mindedness

  • It''s better to flaunt love than hate.

  • @hazifantazi

No, better to just fucking go away from a camera for two seconds (John and Yoko's weakness).

  • I LOVE this song!

  • makes me weep...

  • Beautiful song

  • john was in shock over the death of the original paul mccartney or the firing of him, give him a break

  • @DCAreaguy2001 - What do you mean "the death of the original Paul McCartney?!" Paul McCartney is NOT dead! If he was, how could I see him (A)LIVE in concert today?

  • @RollingOrmond pillock

  • para maribel te amo....

  • Maybe, just one day, there will be peace between a man and a woman....:o) John and Yoko could step beyond the stigmatization of society and especially within their own minds/ hearts......See you on the other side......soon I hope!

  • You can feel the love...and you're right...doesn't matter.

  • the last song of lennon, the song he has written shortly before he passed away, lennon was and still is an legend (now and forever), he has written so many masterpieces, he's a musical genius and his legend will never be touched, rest in peace john

  • the last song which lennon has written.. is an amazing masterpiece... rest in peace

  • Peace & Love. <3

  • She inspired him. She was an artist. She wasnt some stupid media trollop who suffocated him with her idiocy. Who did you want him to marry? Jessica f'n Simpson? Damn the world is a pile of shit nowdays!

  • @DIONYSES000AD Nowhere you find women like this nowadays. Almost every girl despites art,

  • @DIONYSES000AD I wanted him to marry ME! Even tho I was only about 14 at the time.... Honestly, I think she brought out the best in him; certainly his romantic side. We'll always love him too, Yoko.

  • @DIONYSES000AD well, at last an intelligent comment about Yoko and John's relationship. It's so easy to judge people and situations when you're not really involved..

  • It's so sad and amazing...and chilling in an awesome that this was his last song. He was so full of love and peace, and they killed him. He planned to grow old with Yoko, and he never got to. So sad...

  • adorable

  • Yoko Ono woke up one morning in the summer of 1980 with the music of "Let Me Count the Ways" in her head and promptly rang Lennon in Bermuda to play it for him. Lennon loved the song and Ono then suggested to him that he should write a Robert Browning piece to accompany it. That afternoon, John was watching TV when a film came on which had the poem "Rabbi Ben Ezra" by Robert Browning in it. Inspired by this turn of events, Lennon wrote "Grow Old With Me" as an answer to Ono's song.

  • what a beautiful song.

  • i hope i can grow old with my lady and sing along this beatiful song...lennon did have the touch to speak about what was real life and real feelings.

  • Beautiful.Enough said. Ignore the haters,they don't know shit.

  • @maxwall7755 I agree completely. She was his soul mate. The haters don't know what they're talking about.

  • John Loved yoko so much.

  • So sad.

  • a couple of things, first off great song unbeleivable man in so many ways, two whats this crap about transvestites, im just confused how that came up. and ive never been a huge yoko fan, in fact quite the opposite but i guess you really shouldn't judge because while we may see one thing, john probably saw another and so i dont think its right to critisize that relationship

  • This song is beautiful and so is John Lennon.

  • this song is absolutely heartbreaking!!! R.I.P. John!!!

  • @flakbac

    fuck you
