  • I have one of these but i can't play with it because..."!Batteries Not Included!"

  • It has not been demolished they had issues with some systems in it that is why it has not entered service as of yet.

  • @Midknight99 No.. it was officially canceled. The costs went to high off the budget and thus they decided to shut it down. No systems malfunctioning was behind it.

  • @nonibandoni I will say no more then I will get in serious trouble if I do.

  • That chopper is awesome. Why in the hell was it not put into service

  • @TheBmxstreetrider Costs the economy went to shit.

  • that thing was badass

  • rah-66 vs ka-58 its nice

maybe stealth helicopter its totally fail

but sound no changed and helicopter fly in low altitud so its bad technology for helicopter

  • come on it was going to be all over the place in 2006..

  • Not the most manuoverable heli, but it's stealthy, and a great mix of both.

  • When are you going to build a helicopter for all of us, come on you can beat Robinson 22s!

  • it cost to much money so the army put them in storage "that what they say" and instead went with a upgraded Apache which was much less expensive.

  • Or was it cancelled??

  • Comment removed

  • It wasn't put in production because of a simple reason: The weapons range is short enough for the point defense system such as Tungiska M1 and Pantsir to spot it early enough. The range is such that radar sees it regardless and a SAM would be launched before Comanche could come within its ATGM or rocket range. Losing such expensive and ADVANCED chopper to RPG, AAA or MANPAD is easy as wars proven. Just wasn't worth it.

  • Weekday wings... I used to love to watch this show everyday after school!

  • Where are the Comanches! Tooo expensiv may be! Buy the Türkish T-129 has the same engins!

  • Funny thing about project cancellations though: Many projects are actually part of technology development cover stories used for new ideas that are intended to be integrated into other things. It is entirely possible that Commanche was just a development platform for quiet rotor technology (which WAS used in the OBL raid, you recall) and probably other technologies. This happens all the time. They have to be able to spend the money in such a way as not to raise certain red flags.

  • Comanches are back baby, yeaaah....

  • too bad they cancelled this

  • unfortunately no. Technology stays and will be used to other purposes but comanche wont see daylight anymore. Reaper drones can do pretty much everything Comanche wouldve done cheaper and without endangering pilots.

  • This bird wasnt scrapped it was just put away for now. Soon itll be back.

  • @BoredomKills25 they made enough they, made enough i flew the actual flight program for years befoe it was built and it is unbeliveable i wish i had got into one like the liucky guys in these vids, but as they showed the majority it was cancelled in the pr and large number arena putting people like myself out of the loop a loop i miss highly...

  • to bad they scrapped this and used the funds to upgrade the kiowas and apaches.. oh well

  • i would putt a one way black windows on it so they could see out & no one can see in

  • why not just use it? we already spent like millions of monies on it!!!

  • this lady is creeping me out...

  • sucks that we dont use it anyways, i just love how this helicopter cost us almost 30mill and we dont use it and thers alot of them. nice job on buying things we dont fucking use u.s. military -.-

  • that is just a sexy ass chopper

  • Hopefuly we will not require military equipment in your future !

  • i prefer, the kamov ka-52

  • @kantusr1

i also prefer Lada over Maybach.

  • @kalx007 look kamov create way better quality attack helicopters than boeing or sikorsky.

there aren't many rah-66's to be an effective fighting force.

were as there so many more divisions of kamovs, ka-50-ka-52 blackshark, e.t.c

plus kamovs aren;t as expensive to produce than the rah-66, i'm not saying the commanche is crap 'm just saying as a tool, it's flawed in some ways..

i'd be happy with a lada rather than a maybach, i wouldn't look like some rich dick

  • @kantusr1 "many divisions of kamovs..."

    Where?

  • @kalx007 In kamov land, where do you think?

  • They should not have canceled this project, 7 billion spent what's another $30b?

  • @mike31jmb Yes but the SR-71 wasn't invisible nobody could catch it, missles were faster but the pilots knew when to really punch it and escape... after all none of these have been shot down and sonic booms aren't sealthy hence the rotor blades on helicopters *thup* *thup* *thup*c

  • @GreenAce92

SR-71 could fly over Mach 3,3 and was flying way to high for SAM Missiles.

  • How do you make something that has parts at or near the sound barrier stealth?

  • near would be the U2, F117 and the B2 at or above would be the SR71, F23, F35 and the F22

  • Another causality of dick-head cheney. 60 billion spent and ready to be put into production; all in the toilet, thanks to that traitor neo-con-artist. I'm so glad that the money was spent for "land warrior" stupidity vaporware, morons with overpriced cameras on their head and rifles.

  • @ThePatriotMuckraker Nope it is being used by SEAL TEAM SIX! XD

  • @ThePatriotMuckraker you know every one yelled when the B1 was cancelled and made it go into production as the B1b wich then took all the money from the B2 that was then a secret,so maybe they got somthing badder and nastier than this in the wings.

  • @ThePatriotMuckraker I think I speak for more than mysellf when I say that I agree with you on the wasted money and dick-heads stupidity. But please do not call the land warriors morons. And their cameras is a must, in order to keep up with the modern age.

There has been a lot of money that got directly into private pockets. Once again, have at least some respect for the troops, please.

P.S Watch "Iraq for sale". then you know about the money ;-)

  • @ThePatriotMuckraker most of that money also went to upgrading every single apache in the army to a longbow edition. plus the war that comanche was built for is no longer around. now we deal with with people in non teched up trucks spraying ak47 rkp and pkm fire. it was a better way to go about things. also that stealth tech went on to other helos that the 160th is using, IE the osama raid with the "unknown" steath helos. give and take i geuss.

  • @ThePatriotMuckraker You should write your congressmen if you do not agree. Without a strong military, we might not have freedom of speech.

  • @ThePatriotMuckraker you're so bitter, take a deep breath...liberals have cut plenty of promising programs...like the Valkerie Bomber etc...and also lay off knocking are guys in uniform they're risking their lives for you....God Bless Our Soldiers have a nice day :)

  • I used to believe the disinformation too, but where do you think the so called "stealth Helis derived from?

  • Суперский вертолет. Лучший на сегодня. Но думаю что более распространенным станет его следующая модификация.

  • Впечатляющая форма

  • @wellerocks i work on the delta model longbow for a living. to repair it, we still use parts originally designed and built for the alpha model in 1986 (there are some exceptions) which even today cost more than i could make in my lifetime. imagine what we would be spending on late model tech to repair a bird whose unit cost is just as much as that of a AH-64D. futhermore, the camanche was designed to replace the AH-1Z super cobra and the OH-58 kiawa warrior, not the apache.

  • as if a 28 million dollar price tag is even a large sum these days. The 2012 US Federal budget is set at 1.242 Trillion, with roughly 60% of that (754 Billion) allocated towards national security.

Further, of the 754 billion, fully 88.9% (671 Billion) of that goes to the Department of Defense for directly supporting the military branches.

For comparison, China spent just 110 Billion on their 2010 military budget.

  • @SyberKhanX it is when the US is trillions in debt and china aren't.

  • @SyberKhanX China has been lying about what they've been spending on their military budget for years. Don't believe everything you read! Why else would we spend as much as we do? There wouldn't be a reason to spend that much if someone else wasn't as well.

  • good news tax payers!!! this project was canceled years ago!

  • Comment removed

  • @bikerboy773 Good news? That means the DoD spent about 2 billion dollars for NOTHING. It was a great helicopter and it was cheaper to fly than the Apache. Good news my ass. And there are so many things more unnecessary than military helicopters.

  • Seen that before

  • ugly piece of shit

  • I wish the US stop giving indian names to their deadly machines, who serve nothing but ripping off american citizens of there tax money, remember the native american genocide, but not this way......

  • sickkk looking chopper

  • Please upload the total episode of this program showed in the discovery channel

  • Beside costly, the Apache has proved so much in battles lead to cancellation of Comanche.

  • Who needs helicopter gunships when you have drones?

  • @jrm21386 guess thats what they thought

  • @xBABYxKICKERx no, they are museum toys now :(. But I think in the future, the military will revive the program or make something similar to it (and cheaper too) :).

  • man i wished this wasn't cancelled but it cost to much money, but atleast we have the Apache

  • are these in use today?

  • @xBABYxKICKERx no the commanche project was cancelled. it was cancelled because the Army used the program's funds to speed up development of the UAVs. Which are in service already. I wish they didn't cancel it. It looks awesome.

  • @1992Xenomorph oh thats to bad. Are there any left? do they still use them even if they didnt make them? or r they just some museums toy now

  • High speed rotor give it a stable like a humming bird, sorry it was canceled due to high cost and Apache has proved enough in real wars.

  • why was it cancelledd? I recon they got something much better now?

  • and then came the uav and there was no use for this plane

  • There is a program to update the f-22s and f-35s wiki it. The Chinese now have a fifth generation fighter supposedly lol.

  • @SuperErich1980 Ya its called the J-20, the expected date for service is 2020 i believe, its only in the trial stage now

  • @spyderc85 Stolen tech from the US.

  • And for those arguing tards....f22 is fielded but no more are being produced and will not being upgraded. That is what canceled means. The us economy is shit and basicly the whole world economy is shit. The only nations that are as u say "self suffcient" are china and india as of now. Britain is in just as deep as the us is. So stfu and deal with it u little bitches

  • @EMAXXMASTER Austrailia is doing well to

  • Good job army for paying 7 billion for the program and pulling the plug. That's money well spent

  • Look here the common misconception is we owe to china, it actually is false because less than 30% of our debts are with china...

  • @iamgig9876 30%.....8 Trillion equates to 30%? fucking hell your debts must be crippling.

  • Good news everyone you can buy one for 28.3 million dollars

  • @Dysthymaeon but theres only 2.

  • @Dysthymaeon Ah that's nothing I wipe my ass with 28.3 million dollars!

  • @Dysthymaeon for real? i thought it doesnt work properly since its not finished?

  • @Dysthymaeon not really the Army discontinued it too expensive:/

  • Comment removed

  • @Dysthymaeon thats cheap

  • Is this the helicopter they used in the bin laden raid

  • Its too bad, the army could have really used this well, they need more recon capabilities

  • The F-22 project was not scrapped and plenty where made. Only a couple short of the original order. The plane does have issues..........but still the best combat plane in the world.

  • ahh fuck how spoiled is this army...

  • the rotors are lagging

  • Promised a cool heli, but it's nothing but a taxpayers hoax

  • Canceled....

  • i bet they have models with blacked out windows or no windows at all an armoured plates instead.

  • can any helicopter be stealth when its rotors make so much noice...........geese these engineers cant realise that.............

  • @youboylk

Stealth is needed when approaching the target, far away where your rotor can't be heared.

When they can hear you, they are allready dead ;)

  • @youboylk the most of the noise comes from the interference between the air flow from the main rotor and the structure of the tail rotor. The fenestron system mounted on the comanche greatly reduced noise.

  • @youboylk Hey... Ask Osama Bin Ladin!! Why didn't he flee when hearing the sound of approaching helicopters?? And those are much bigger than a recon aircraft!!

  • Comment removed

  • America the continent not just one country, the USA the country not the continent, USA will take the world down, first will be the USA citizen to suffer, really nice people who's hate around the world thanks to USA government.

  • This thing started out as an attack helicopter in the early 80's to replace the Apache and morphed into a recon one in the late 90's and couldn't do either well. The reasons it was cancelled are that it was to lightly armed for the attack mission, as are all stealth aircraft. To lightly armored, relying on its stealth when a guy with an AK47 can see you with his eyes is dumb. And lastly the cost kept going up every year. I live near Sikorsky in CT everyone talks about this alot.

  • the comanche-program just was rised up to top secret thats all... they wouldnt abadon such a programm just like that!

  • @PhuxX87 lol mate you are so wrong its unreal. This bit of kit was scrapped before it was even fielded. It wasn't rised up to top secret. Thats some wishful thinking right there. Newsflash for you, listen to Ron Paul..the US IS BROKE..you had to scrap the F-22 project as well for the same reson. You owe China TRILLIONS. You are broke...sorry..time to wake up now.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer i agree...all of America needs to wake up.(coming from an American)

  • @LCStreetPhotographer

saying that the biggest economy, largest military budget, largest GDP ... is "bankrupt" is plain stupid.

  • @kalx007 You are 8 trillion in debt to China alone..... that doesnt equate to being an economically stable nation.

I like America and Americans but you do need to wake up.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer

china wouldnt survive western economics collapse. since its economy is built on consumers living in I world countries.

thats why they are frantically buying our bonds. this also allows america to "print" money - with no consequences. i wouldnt be suprised if china erased most of americas debt in near future, in order to quarantee consuming frenzy that has been going on past 30-40 years.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer Dude, U.S can print out infinite amount of Dollar. Don't get too high. Without the West china is nothing and they'll die out of hunger!

  • @LCStreetPhotographer So Mate who are "you" and where do "you" come from? Because "We" americans most likely (assuming you are from austrailia or new zealand because you said "mate") have the ability to take out your entire country with a few trident missles from any number of our brand new Ohio class subs. The main reasion we "scraped" or F-22 program was because countries like yours dont even have the airpower to stand up to the much cheaper F-18 Superhornet. Time to wake up mate

  • @GeneralMills66 Britain actually and last time I checked the eurofighter typhoon was leaps and bounds ahead of the F-18 Super Hornet, f-16, F-15. Most naturally because it can climb vertically indefinitely as its pilots hav the new typhoon g suit which enables them to keep up with the g forces that the aircraft is capable of..in its case the pilot is no longer a limiting factor. Hey plenty of video's on here from teh military channel saying its the best there is.

  • @GeneralMills66 Your country, like many others, is broke pal...time to wake up mate, its got to be bad news owing China around 8 trillion..and i'd be worried if a song class chinese sub popped up in the middle of one of our training exercises in the pacific. I'd watch Ron Pauls videos if I were you. Toodles.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer yeah us is broke but still has the strongest military in the world! we cant be touched!

  • @LCStreetPhotographer And you (United kingdom) owe these United States of the Americas for saving the Queen from being 'Hitler's bitch. In other words, Check-Mate.

  • Comment removed

  • @LCStreetPhotographer first off there's a difference between the f22's cancellation and the rah 66's this thing was never fielded, the f 22 however is still active, it's cancelaton means no more billion dollar upgrades retard, oh and by the way, the UK is broke as hell too, you guys owe like what, 950 mil pounds? stop talking so high and mighty, and in a way, us owing china is a plus, they're economy is BASED on US,

  • @ROMANE500 If there is one thing that is sad to see its "self delusion". You need to learn to avoid engaging in it, it might make you appear less gullible. The US will not be using the F-22. Must try harder. Also Britains not broke. Our debt per Gdp only sits at 62% and was only 34% under the last government, before the gobal recession. And China are masters at isolationism, the rest of the world is more than happy to cosy up to them for their cheap exports so they are NOT dependant on you.

  • @ROMANE500 Now, allow me to run a few minor points past you.

    1. the Chinese people are accustomed to living at a much lower living standard than the US citizen.

    2. India is rising. 1.3 billion people in a developing market that dwarft the Americans mere 330 million people.Also1. the Chinese people are accustomed to living at a much lower living standard than the US citizen.2. India is rising. 1.3 billion people in a developing market that dwarft the Americans mere 330 million people...continued

  • @LCStreetPhotographer see now your going off topic bringing india into the argument, leave them alone, and last i checked we only stopped production IT IS STILL ACTIVE and really, whens the exact date we'll not be

  • @ROMANE500 I bought India in to it because in a round about way, as i clarified, it has a lot to do with what I was trying to point out.

  • @ROMANE500 continued....3. American decline is unavoidable. The US currently uses more than 40% of all global energies within only a fraction of the global population. The developing markets of China and India will force America out of oil supplies.

    4. USA imports in excess of 65% of their daily energy consumption. They are not self sufficient. National defense dependent on oil. Diminishing purchasing power coupled with #3 above spells certain economic doom for the USA.

    Enough said?

  • @ROMANE500 I mean, hey, I only get my information from my Brother who, a) is a Phd International Relations and Economics grad, and b) lives in Hong Kong and works in both Hong Kong and Shanghais trade centres and gets to see just how thin the ice that you stand on is. I'll send you a little message that may put the finer points of all of this in to the bigger context of the world.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer using the f22??? secondly yes they do we are china's top trade partner, below us is japan, hongkong and south korea, oh and last i checked the EU is in a debt crisis worse than ours, the majority of your member states debt is above 60% thats sad, but whats really sad is that it seems as though your pushing for your country's economic rivals, dont let your ignorant anti americanism get in the way of you seeing who's actually threatning you

  • @ROMANE500 Our debt is above 60%...but as i've pointed out...the US debt currently stands at 97%. The Chinese have downgrade your rating 2...3 times already this year.

  • @ROMANE500 And i'm far from anti american, i'm a former Royal Marine Commando and have operated alongside various units of the US military and got on great with them, and to be fair, most of those were pissed at how their/your country is headed (as were we about ours). Time to face facts, both our countries are now massively playing second fiddle to China.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer ,I am an American and you do make alot of good points. And if you fought this last gulf war,I would like to thank you for being our allie. But I do think we will snap out of this crap with China. Some jobs here in the states are comming back home. There quality really sucks,The Chinaness

  • @mdharfman I agree 110%. British and American engineering, technological innovation etc is far superior to that of the Chinese. However both our nations need to stop purchasing Chinese and our governments need to adjust taxes/vat to boost homeland manufacturing, allow our own homegrown engineers and manufacturers to compete with the cheap Chinese garbage on price and thus, let them thrive as they once did. Then programmes like this and the F-22 wouldn't need to be scrapped.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer What we need to do is improve the working conditions and pay decent wages in China, India etc, forcing the prices of the goods to go up to a level more like the west's, forcing the national manufacturers to increase their wages to compete. ?

  • @mdharfman We should dsubsidise homegrown talent so that they aren't continually priced out of the market by the Chinese. If you're interested in military tech, put "taranis drone" in the youtube search. Its our latest bit of tech about to go live over here in the UK, its already started test flights and should be operable soon. I believe we will have 90 of them. Fully unmanned stealth bomber. Its 110% British, It will replace the Tornado and will compliment the eurofighter nicely.

  • @mdharfman And on a final note, as a former British Royal Marine Commano who has served in Kosovo, Sierra Leonne, 2 tours of Iraq and 4 of Helmand Province, Afghanistan...., God Bless Britain and America.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer one last thing, my cuz works for lockheed martin...who designed the majority of and made f22s....thats where i get MY info from

  • @LCStreetPhotographer f-22 aircraft is being used as we speak it was never scrapped

  • @ZEROLIFE121392 It has. I'll even send you a link, it was cancelled due to project short falls etc. I've sent you a link to the news footage.

  • @ZEROLIFE121392 type F22 cancelled in the youtube search box and watch the news article from last year showing when how and why the US cancelled it. I'd send it as a link but for some reason I cant

  • @LCStreetPhotographer the f-22 wasnt cancelled.

  • @Mrgunlover2 watch?v=bL5jAxk94Ws

    or how about:

    watch?v=KaoYz90giTk&feature=results_main&playnext=1&list=PL516D19A406AF2D94

Lockheed martin spent too long dragging its heels on the F-22 craptor which has led to its demise, it isn't the HOT ROD you like or LM would like people to think it is, even the US Navy turned it down in favour of the F-18E Super Hornet. IF anything has been learnt from WW2 and Vietnam the guy with the most aircraft wins, hence Chinas emerging dominance.

  • @LCStreetPhotographer Yes the US is broke but doesnt keep us from spending, the US isnt going to announce to the world our best shit, besides the us is still ranked first in military technology regardless on money, the Raptor was scrapped but not for money issues but for the JSF, besides you dont see videos of our new apache do you...thats because the world doesnt know what the US has until its shoving a missle up there ass.....

  • @gman20031 Im afraid thats not true. Dont get me wrong, im a former Royal Marine Commando and other than Britain, there isn't another nation I trust as much I do America, being our closest allies and all. The thing is, this is the natural way of the world. Powers rise, and then they fall. Thats whats happening here. US military kit projects are fairly transparent, or at least they should be, since the US and my country Britain demand the same transparency of China etc etc, fairs fair.

  • Comment removed

  • @gman20031 Basically, Nations have their time at the top, but it never lasts forever, its impossible. The Huns, the mongols, the Greeks under Alexander The Great, The Romans, Hell even us British, we had the greatest Empire known to man, over 2 Thirds of the Earths surface had a British flag on it, the saying was that "The Sun never sets on the British empire" , due to the time zone differences from corner to corner of the empire. But it all came to an end, as it is now for the US.

  • i still dont see why they cancelled this aircraft

  • @OnEEmONErD It wasn't outright cancelled exactly? Portions of the program were scrapped, but other portions continued onwards. A lot of the tech for this went to other places. See the similarities in the shape and design of the tail rotor when compared to the copter that was crashed/destroyed at the Bin Laden compound?

  • @OnEEmONErD Yeah, I'm still confused too. I mean, there were certainly reasons but judging all the stuff that had been developed, this would have been a viable asset after all. Well, I guess the joystick drone warfare is superior now more than ever.

  • If they remade Blue Thunder today, I'd guarantee that a Comanche would be used.

  • *SIGHS* TOO BAD THE COMANCHE HAS BEEN CANCELLED...

  • @GradianViper Damn, straight...the Apache is outdated.

  • Now I Know What I want For Christmas..

  • where can i buy one? this would make a great gift for my little sister...

  • It's 2011 -_-

  • WHY DID THEY CANCELL IT???? NOW THE ARMY IS CRYING THAT THE KIOWAS NEED REPLACEMENT. Get back commanche with newer tech and safe money on new stealth

  • @VBH8888 they have better things to work on. Like giant metal arrow shaped planes that fly really really fast for no apparent reason -.-

  • Too much money to upgrade it to combat current AA defenses and drones becoming widespread and able to complete needed tasks.

  • @VBH8888 Kiowa - cheap. Comanche - expensive. Didn't you hear the price for 1200 units? That's way too expensive.

  • Too bad this program was cancelled.

  • @jedsteinke yeah, I mourn it from time to time, helicopters are cranky bastards, hard to build, very hard to maintain and harder still to pilot, but are beautiful weapons and the Comanche was simply the best, may be, just may be on the future we will have something comparable...if China doesn't build it first, damn it.

  • this chopper was used in hulk.

  • 34 billion $ !? Well Why the "fluck" are they telling us about national debt after this trash, and then say that "WE" owe!???????????

  • IT HAD BETTER FLY LIKE AN EAGLE BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE A FLYING CAVE MAN CLUB! BAM! BAM! BAAMM! BAAMM!

  • IT HAD BETTER FLY LIKE AN EAGLE BECAUSE IT LOOKS LIKE A FLYING CAVE MAN CLUB!
