Do you know what a Widow's Walk originally was? The 19th century wives of ship's captains used to have a widow's walk built into their houses, high up, often on the roof. They would go up there and watch for their husband's return until when their husband'sship finally came back from a long voyage. Ffor those whose husbands never returned, it was a "widow's walk". You can see some still surviving in old houses in Nantucket on Cape Cod, Massachusetts.
Yea, it was a lovely surprise when I first heard this album....due to divorce from her Engineer and husband (who funked up her sound, conflicting with her sort of Buddhist profundity), she went back to her roots of stripped-down simplicity, and as always, shines in her integrity and honesty.
Songs in Red and Grey..genius album. Fell in love with her all over again. I heard her voice as a woman for the first time, meaning I could relate in a more mature way. Many fantastic offerings to be heard, get the record if you don't have it.
I'm so proud of her.

Too bad this genius, singing this insidiously brutal masterwork, had to be subjected to and introduced by this rancid prick of a host. Go Suzanne!
