  • Jesus...I can't stand Jack Johnson.

but he does make me feel so hip and righteous while I shop at Trader Joes.

  • this video reminds me why i don't listen to Jack Johnson

    that song is so shit

and is just an insult to Ginsberg and Dylan

  • @sillystupidpeople your an idiot

  • A gorgeous song by an incredible songwriter. This man had to be coaxed into his recording career because he wanted to be a film maker. Our gain.

  • lol... u must be joking!!!

  • Actually, guitar was good.. singing was good.. lyrics were ok. Dropping names in the introduction will get you flamed. People only tend to care about your inspiration when you've gathered a large following. While interesting in a conversation, sort of taboo as an introduction and set the bar higher than the small song accomplished. Wouldn't mind seeing more work from you, and after doing a little research, found that you were seemingly working towards a decent career. Good luck!

  • Considering this was a piece for a documentary on Allen Ginsberg, name dropping then becomes acceptable.

  • hes tryin to earn credibility by dropping names at the start.... the song is so bad i think it gave me a brain tumor

  • So in Jack's secret life at home he is concerned with real truth and poetry, while in the public sphere he spends his time making marketable feel-good ditties for the masses?

  • hmm.. do you really think Jack wrote 'ditties' for the masses? What made his writing special is his natural prose writing ability. Not everything must come from the belly of the beast to be inspired or divine. The real truth that Keroac conveyed is his experiences..whether that ends up a ditty or a darkest hour is irrelevant.

  • I was referring to Jack Johnson, actually...with regards to the ditties. I have a lot of respect for Kerouac.

  • @JamboCordoba Hmmm...were you under the impression that those who make marketable art, like for instance, Johnny Depp, Paul McCartney, Bono (im only looking at the suggested videos on the right side of the screen) or even Dylan, were you under the impression that people who made marketable art were not concerned with truth, poetry, beauty... Grow up man.

i love seeing all these kids who are obviously NOT artists themselves rail against "sell outs" and "cop outs"

but i do get your point.

  • @JamboCordoba He doesn't. A lot of people just happen to like his style of music. Just because he's popular with a bunch of douchebags it doesn't discredit anything he says

  • @JamboCordoba - Yeah, because Ginsberg and Dylan were sooo deep. LOL. Why can't people just appreciate art for art. 90% of Ginsberg's poetry is "feel-good ditties", all done for the aesthetic value. Get off your high horse, and actually read for a change.

  • @tigerz2350 I personally feel like allen wasn't making feel good dities. Allen was SAYING something. Allen risked so much to say what he did. There was an obsenity trial for howl. "America I used to be a communist when I was a kid and I'm not sorry." He said that in the 50's. This is before blacks could even vote.

  • you fucking idiot.. hes never said that

he said its kind of dedicated to both

    stupid asshole

  • anyways

  • looooooooooveeeeeeee YOUUUUUUUU

  • jacks a beast

  • ........

  • Go Jack!

  • jack t'es sex =)
