The Beatles to rock n roll to new level. They were gifted composers/lyricist and they every one of them were cute as hell. This was considered pretty wild, heavy rock at the time. And their hair was considered long and out of the norm. The older generation feared the Beatles and hated them for being a bad influence on the teens at the time. No guy was wearing hair that long then. My father hated them and said that they didn't sing, they just scream. My mother, however, was a closet fan.

Live versions are close but John's voice almost diappeared during the actual recording in the studio. All subsequent verisons his voice is solid & husky. Regardless, it's the all time best cover of this Isley Brothers song - even better than the original.
