I remember karen and Richard in the 70's.when I was much younger. I regret that I never got to see Karen perform. I think she was so talented, and she is still so missed nearly 30 years after she died.

I saw the orignal graves in Cypress in the '80's and '90's.Richard had them moved near his home which I think is in Westlake Village.I saw him driving once on La Mirada Blvd.I wonder if his 4 daughters are musically talented?

Karen carpenter, Was one of the most amazing people ever, she could rock anyone under the table, including all her family players..Add the voice of an angle and the fact that this never went to her head and you have something special by a matter of fact..

My sister died recently and is so special to me always, she reminded me of Karen and she died from starvation also...due to cancer treatments.

my grandfather. She was interred in the west

building at the very southwest corner, my

grandfather in the east crypt. I've become

more of a Carpenters fan since then. Too bad

According to IMBD on Thursday, December 11, 2003 Karen, Agnes and Harold's (her parents_ were exhumed from Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Cypress, California and were moved to Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks Memorial Park in Westlake Village, California. Agnes, Karen and Harold remained in their original caskets. At 12:30pm PST they were all re-interred and entombed in a private family mausoleum in the Tranquility Gardens section of the cemetery.

I was honored to be at her Wake & Funeral when I lived in California in the early 80's. I've been to her new resting place about 6 times now.

Richard lives about 2 miles from the cemetery. It's so hard to believe she is gone. I really miss her.

talahib5, I think Karen actually died of a heart attack but she had been battling anorexia for years and it had left her whole body in a weakened state. Seems she just wasn't strong enough anymore and her heart gave out.

Karen battled anorexia for may years according to Richard since 1975, and around January of 1982 she began to seek treatment for her anorexia. Unfortunately, since eating disorders were not very common, they put too much weight on her too fast, around 30 pounds. So she died of a heart attack because her body couldn't handle the sudden weight gain.
