What is that style of picking with his fingers? I'm a begginer and i've seen john mayer and joe b do it...can anyone enlighten me please?

@superman1307 It is called hybrid picking. alot of guys use a pick and there middle and ring finger with it. ala Eric Johnson, Zakk wiylde. The style JB is using is with his thumb and first finger and softens the sound up because your thumb is not as harsh as a pick and technically is probably a little more natural than using the pick and fingers. Look up Greg Howe for this style. Derek Trucks also uses the JB style. Check it out if you haven't heard him. Look up Derek Trucks out of the madness

Aafter i cought that show on padellia or whatever it was called, I DRV'd it, then Dvd'd it the next day... i dont know of any guitar player better that alive today. JB is like all of the best ones in one... almost.

it is done using hybrid picking and bends it is suppose to immulate pedal steel. I want to get hybrid picking down but it is not easy. search you tube for hybrid picking it will blow you away what you can do with it if you have never seen it.
