Alpha 1.1.2_01 (3rd gen Terrain)

Beta 1.1_02 (4th gen Terrain w/o new trees)

Beta 1.7.3 (4th gen Terrain w/ new trees)

Beta 1.8.1 (5th gen Terrain w/o snow biomes)

@Juka2h I barely noticed, but a little note would be that the word "a" before a word that has a vowel as it's first letter should be switched to "an" so it sounds more fluent. Even something that sounds like it has a vowel as it's first letter, like how X sounds like Ex, so it would be "an X".

In the future, check the upload date. If it is recent, go ahead and tell the person to do something. Also check what version of Minecraft it is. The game changes occasionally. If you are unfamiliar with the version, there is a web page called the minecraft wiki that will answer all your questions.

Technically, then it was still reed. Now it's sugarcane. Minecraft Alpha was not the best. Less mobs, no End, no villages, less terrain variety. Clearly Minecraft 1.0 is the best.

@themightyfink Personally, I don't like Notch putting an end to minecraft. Nor do I like him putting stuff like "mooshrooms" and baby-animals to the game. It kinda takes away.. I wouldn't call it "seriousness", but it makes the game look kind of childish. I prefer Alpha over the finished game. But that's just my opinion.

@themightyfink I personally LOVED alpha the simplicity of it was so amazing it got so addicting. Now the terrain is so bland and flat besides the mountain biome and now if you spawn in a world its either a swamp of a freaking pine forest 90% of the time. AND look not any hills in site besides the mountain biome with its ugly bluish-green grass and the hideous swamp that comes every second. And the ending I did not like that idea that much its just something minecraft NEVER needed

2. Bland and flat? Where'd you spawn, in a freaking plains biome?

3. Hmm really. I guess that's bad luck. I usually spawn in forest biomes, or if it's a pine tree biome then I always see forest biomes around the corner of it.

4. Yeah swamps are ugly, but Notch is trying to make the biomes realistic. I do agree that they are too many of them all over the place, though. (I see hills all the time)

@Jaden964 Hm I may have worded it a bit wrong with the biomes. All i'm saying for that is I think biomes have gotten much more boring ever since 1.8. This is just my personal opinion but I liked it when biomes had mountains in forests now its slight hills. And I do miss beaches that was a nice touch to it. But what i'm saying is the generator before was much more pleasing to the eye.

@harrywolf160 Yup, the simplicity is what made this game so amazing, also now that you cant find good cliff side caves like X made his X cave in, you either gotta build a house that in the end you wont like and end up wanting something similar to this, also the system of hostile and friendly mobs changed horribly and the spawning of caves. Also the graphics have changed, Notch should have updated Minecraft but at least keep this nostalgic feel to the game :)

Backup your current files and use MCNostalgia to backdate the game to whichever version you prefer. I'm currently in Alpha 1.0.15.

I love the simplicity, too. Plus the terrain and textures add a certain feeling to the game that doesn't exist anymore.

Thankfully, there are mods that and texturepacks that bring back the textures, world generations, mechanics, etc. of alpha, so we can just play the type we prefer. But my guess is the only thing you look for in a game is popularity
