  • 7:55 LOL yep i was right!! great vid though, i enjoyed it!

  • at 6:46 I'm thinking "this is going to be a freaking train wreck of a project!"

  • Good for you jumping into my world..keep trying it just gets better...if you have taste buds you will improve your beer..

  • I really want to see the hospital video !!!

  • @betterbett9048 I didn't get the opportunity to make on unfortunately. This stuff tasted weird but actually wasn't toxic in anyway. I didn't even vomit! Thanks for the comment.

  • The most funny brewing video on youtube thus far. Congratulations Premnasbiaculeatus, you have shown us the way to humour in brewing and yielded a revolting coconut beverage in the process.

  • @JAZZCON LOL, thanks for the comment. I'm glad you liked the video.

  • I was not expecting your video to be so dam funny. I think it's your dry delivery that cracks me up. "it kind of tastes like when you burp after eating a lot of bread sticks", busted out laughing. Great Job!!!

  • @rustygrizwaldcfo Thanks so much. I'm glad you liked the video.

  • A hahahahah "yeah that' tastes kind of awful" hahahah I laughed so hard thank you

  • @jpumphrey25 You're welcome. Thanks for the comment.

  • Great video! You're freakin' hilarious! Do yourself a favor, spend the extra money and get a real kit...it's way more fun and the beer tastes GREAT!

  • @reincarn8tion Thanks for the comment, Since this video I've been brewing in 5 gallon carboys and having a lot more success than i did in this first failed attempt.

  • LMAO tastes like charcoal and burnt sugar but he can get used to it?

  • @ronn68 It was an aquired taste. I did get used to it and ultimately drank the whole two gallons. Thanks for the comment.

  • Dude, I've had such a shit week, and your beer vids make me laugh soooooo hard I cry. Thanks man. Subbed!

  • @hiPlasma My Pleasure, thanks for the comments.

  • 1part bleach to 9 parts water? Holy Crap! That's a lot of beach!!

  • @baldbear420m it does seem like a lot. Good thing I use starsan now.

  • @baldbear420m should be 1 gal water, 1 oz bleach.

  • beer fail......NEVER USE MR BEER!!!!!!!!!!! Use quality equipment, anf fresh ingredients. Morebeer.com has everything you need to get started, and advanced equipment for when you get better. Don't give up, I have failed a time or two as well just finished my 100th batch.

  • @LawDawgHomebrew I've made 13 more batches since this video that for the most part turned out fine. I'm using five gallon carboys now, but still use the Mr. Beer on occasion. It's not a bad thing, if you want to get experimental and not waste an entire 5 gallons. Thanks for the comment.

  • That was pretty enjoyable. Keep at it man, its not that hard. I would advise some fresh ingredients though.

  • @ChristianLemon Will do, thanks for the comment.

  • At 7:20 you were so happy and care free and at 7:50 All bets were off, I thought you were going to break down and cry !! LOL !! It tastes like the flavor in your mouth after you burp !!! LOL !! I'm not a drinker, but I found this quite entertaining to say the least !! Best bad taste test ever !! *4 Stars* Thanks for posting!

  • @CanvasFalcon Thank you for watching.

  • how long did the owners have it?, yeast expires you know

  • @jenksmaster I can only imagine probably something like 15 years going off of the expiration date on the LME. The yeast was totally shot, that's why I had to do a secondary pitch with bread yeast.

  • Ohhh man. HILARIOUS!! Thanks for the video and thanks for putting yourself out there. Cheers.

  • @kesslersr You're very welcome. Thanks for the comment.

  • tastes kinda aweful.. yep...

  • they get ya on the beer kits for the different types.. spending over $40 for about 20 12oz bottle is very expensive.

  • @nectarineblue I definitely agree.

  • Slow fermentation is usually a bad sign in my experience, especially if you're making a low gravity beer. Either you have poor quality water & or less than optimal sanitation, Id guess the old ingredients & improper yeast didn't help. $6 for some entertainment isn't so bad I suppose.

  • @ninjabob52 It had pretty good ABV and carbonation, just looked and tasted nothing like beer. Thanks for the comment.

  • Favorite lines:

I watched videos, so I know Mr Beer tastes good.

I drink PBR, so I won't care about how Mr. Beer tastes.

I'm not completely unfamiliar with brewing...I understand the process fairly well.

First time, didn't want to mess it up...this might be awful.

Pretty awful, but I could get used to drinking this. Well, I don't know what I am talking about.

    >Pretty good at describing the flavors though. Thanks for the entertainment.

  • @KB16639 My pleasure. Thanks for the comment.

  • that my friend is the flavor of regret lmao its good to see someone humble enough to post a funny vid of it

  • @mkjredemption Yeah, people love it when I screw up. I wish I could get 19,000 views on one of my videos where I don't screw up. Oh well, there is comedic value in failure I guess... Thanks for the comment.

  • You can't take out the hops from beer making process Because its one of the four major ingredients To making beer! And why the fuck would you add coconut in its place?! Stick to gardening dude!!!!!

  • @Adamj190 The LME that comes with Mr. Beer is prehopped. Additional hops are not called for in the instructions. I put coconut in because I've always wanted to have a pale ale that tastes like coconut. Long story short this was my first time brewing with a 15 yearold kit that came from a yard sale. I was doomed to fail. Anyway, I'm much more experienced now. Check out my later videos if you want to see me get this right.

  • Why is there an airlock on your Mr beer keg?

Mr beer keg has a vented lid so you don't need that airlock.

  • @neightwatts This was the the old version of the kit from the nineties. It used to have an airlock, and it didn't come with sanitizer or booster.

  • Favorite part: Yeah, that tastes kind of awful.... :D

  • @bigboiboling Thanks for the comment.

  • This is now one of my favorite homebrewing videos ever. You have such an awesome attitude about the Mr. Beer experiment. Glad to hear you've gotten some fresher ingredients...and that we dodn't have to read about you in the Post obits. Cheers!

  • @armorall1000 Thank you very much!

  • I hope to be making some beer soon. I like this video.it makes me have to try.

  • @allorganicplanting Thanks, best of luck to you.

  • It's better when you DON'T use the booster. That's just sugar. I typically use Clorox to sanitize. Baker's yeast isn't that bad. But purest are pretty anal about it. I've brewed for 6 years and did a bakers yeast experiment and got a 7%ABV and it tasted really good. I probably would have tried to find a homebrew store to get fresher Extract. It probably tasted aweful because you are a BMC Pabst drinker. So anything stronger is going to taste like crap.

  • @brandon0409 I've brewed 65 gallons since this video, pale ales, red ales, heffeweisens, witbiers, belgians, ect... I really like good beer, but I drink PBR when I'm slumming. This stuff I made was black and formed absolutely no head despite being fully carbonated It had almost no beer like characteristics, the flavor was like a parmesean breadstick mead of some sort. I'm sure it had almost everything to do with the age of the LME. Very gross stuff but it did have a lot of alcohol

  • @Premnasbiaculeatus How much does the cost work out to at a 12oz glass?

  • @tomatofighter About 37.5 cents per pint. So 12 oz I guess would be about 28 cents.

  • Very anti climatic I thought he'd forget the airlock and it'd explode due to pressure.

  • @heroesandcons09 Yeah, I've heard of that happening. Apparently, the newer Mr. Beer Kits don't even come with airlocks. Anyway, sorry to disappoint. If you sat through seven and a half minutes of me rambling, I'm sure you were hoping for something more exciting. Thanks for the comment.

  • @Premnasbiaculeatus I enjoyed it looking at it for a second time but it wasn't the videos fault it was more my fault I was hyping myself up for the explosion but no big I'll still like it.

  • Girlfriend?? Really?? Who do you think you're kidding?

  • @bloodonblood89

    she's my fiance now.

  • HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA VERY FUNNY

  • @Pedrobroma Thanks for the comment.

  • I laughed so hard as I was watching this. I don't know what was funnier - hearing that baker's yeast and dry coconut was added, or the the comment "I think I can get used to this". Not knocking ya man, but the results are pretty consistent with all the factors in play. Thank for the vid.

  • @timothygary1 My pleasure, thanks for the comment.

  • What a dweeb....

  • @leexcore1 Your mom...

  • Is this a comedy skit?

  • @Kanuckbrewer unfortunately no, this was a genuinely dissapointing experience.

  • Very funny ..it looks like Coke & tastes awful... ;~)

  • @davidrcoulter Very true, thanks for the comment.

  • Loved the "hmmm...tastes kind of awful". Every one who brews has had problems with a few batches. That's how we learn.

  • @Hannaman too true. It these experiences that teach us to do things the right way. thanks for the comment.

  • Was probably a Mr Beer Root beer kit lol

  • @xcoreinmolinex No, it was the west coast pale ale. I just messed it up that bad.

  • I haven't read all your comments, however, as a fellow brewer, I suggest using ingredients and not condensed wort, my first batch is awesome, non condensed.

  • @SuperMongosmash Most of my brews now get made with DME and pellet hops now. Thanks for the comment.

  • Hahahah. Good luck man. I r eally enjoyed the vid.

  • @AbuGrabIt Thanks

  • I have made many a home brew with bakers yeast and never had a problem with it.the most i have used of it though is a third of a packet for the same reasons you stated in the video"what people have said"its pretty safe to wait and see if its going to take off or not its just a matter of waiting on it to start which has never been a problem for me to date.whether Ive made ales or wines with it always good

  • @tappakeggaday1 Now that I've had success making alot of different beers with different yeasts I'm tempted to go back and use bakers yeast again just to see how specifically it affects the flavor. Thanks for the comment.

  • @Premnasbiaculeatus well when you think about it most people will use a whole packet of yeast when they make a five gallon batch,in a mr beer keg it would see that half to a third of a packet of the bakers yeast would be enough to do the job without adding to much of the off flavors to it.also letting itr age seems to help take away some of the off flavors as well

  • @TheyLiveWeObey I've brewed 65 gallons since this video was shot. Mostly in 5 gallon carboys, but I've done a couple more Mr. Beers too and have gotten good results. I wasn't expecting much out of a 15 year old kit. I'm pretty sure at this point I've likely spent over a grand myself. Thanks for the comment.

  • I spend the last 10 mins in amazement, I have done a few Mr Beer kegs worth now and I think you broke just about every instruction in the book with this brew. Its a miracle you got what you did.

Next time try doing it by the rules, and the time after change just 1 of the constants to realise the effect.

5 stars for comedic value of the video.

  • @thezerocool22 I brew in 5 gallon carboys now. If you want to see me give Mr. Beer a second try, Watch my videos Brewing Mr. Beer West coast pale ale beginning to end part 1 and 2. I actually get it right the second go round. Thanks for the comment.

  • Go get some Nottingham or 05.

  • @jclaine LOL... will do.

  • nice!

  • @themutherfunkinDme Thanks!

  • I'm making a rice herb something now. BE CAREFUL when using rice - I wound up using 6+ pots and never got a full tank of "wart". something that expands that much with water and heat makes a mess.

  • @thebrizzell did you malt the rice first?

  • @Premnasbiaculeatus

I guess I boiled it and blended it for about 40min. (also known as I made concret)

  • 96 I got the same thing. but my can was buldging so i made a coffee uh cider i guess. Publix dont sell B/yeast sooooooo bakers away

  • @thebrizzell Pretty close to my general experience (sans can bulging). Thanks for the comment.

  • best beer brewing video ever lol

  • @travisdaniell Thanks so much.

  • i enjoyed that lol keeps sipping it describing how bad it is HAHA classic

  • @xlxexcxlxaxixrx Glad you enjoyed. Thanks for the comment.

  • why did u put an air lock in your mr beer? the screw top is designed to let out co2.

  • @ridebmx1800 The old version of Mr. Beer comes with an airlock.

  • You used bakers yeast? Bwaahahahah.

  • @cigarsmokin Yeah... not the best decision. Thanks for the comment.

  • I never laughed so hard in my life. Keep on brewing man.

  • @Bush6800 Will do, thanks for the comment.

  • yeh this beer might not be good.... oh yeh i put shredded coccnut in it, yeh.....

  • @bucktros12345 Yep, didn't turn out so well. Thanks for the comment.

  • Drinking 15yr old home brew that tastes like crap??? I think you just earned a "man card". good job

  • @ColoradoFlyFisherMan Thank you very much sir. Have I mentioned that I shave every morning with a broken peice of glass.

  • uww dude, that is disgusting, I would of read the date and binned the lot, no need to be tight you can get kits for £10, $15.

  • @CozzyB true, but I wanted to see what would happen.

  • how was this on your stomach/intestines?

  • @aphengvath Absolutely no adverse gastrointestinal side effect. In all honesty what I created wasn't that bad, it just tasted nothing like beer.

  • 8:38 what you never heard of burnt charcoal coconut ale before!??!!?!!!!!! Lol. I hope my first brew isnt this bad. Probably because ill use ingredients that arent almost as old as I am. Lol.

  • @ocarinaguy41 It probably wont be, My first real try with proper ingredients turned out pretty well.

  • Oh my god this is hilarious.

  • @kfrr Thank you very much. My aim is to entertain.

  • so wait.... your saying you bought this for 6 bucks at a yard sale and your complaining that stuff was missing? I'm really confused... Anyone else?

  • @joshtits Not complaining... just explaining

  • Hahaha, he could sell a ketchup Popsicle to a woman in white gloves.

  • @mwstone8888 Thanks, I'd like to think I could.

  • you drink bud light and pabst....those taste a little different dont they lol

  • @wheaterfly Yeah, but they are both horrible beers that I've acquired an affinity for. I guess I was trying to say that no matter how horrible this beer turns out to be, as long as it's not poison I'll be able to drink it. Apparently it wasn't poison so I did drink it. It was worse than either of the two though. Sometimes awful flavor is much worse than an absence of flavor. Thanks for the comment.

  • Haha, that was hilarious.

  • @theveganbrewer thanks for the comment.

  • Best video on YouTube, "Its gross, but I can get use to it" LOL

  • @manuecat Thanks so much, that's a very kind thing to say.

  • Fuck dude your funny!!!!!!!!

  • @2678Antb Thank you sir.

  • hahahahahaha i laughed so hard when you just kept drinking

  • @mattymyboy Thanks for the comment.

  • "But I did it anyway" Now that's a classic homebrewer's quote. LOL Brew until you puke! No, scratch that. Brew until you get it right. Thanks for the laugh.

  • @Ziggybrew Your very welcome. Thanks fo much for the great comment.

  • OMG...ROFL ! ! ! My wife and I are in pain from the laughing so hard despite watching you over and over..... Your brutal honesty and willingness to experiment on yourself despite health care concerns gets you major props in our book. Thanks for the great laughs, we are studying to start our own homemade brew and you have definitely given us the "What not to do" lesson relating to nearly two decade old beer kits. Thanks for sharing this ! ! !

  • @txcoplee911 I aim to please. Thanks for watching and thanks for the great comment.

  • @txcoplee911

Taste sort of like charcoal and yeasty! Wow, it's gross! I could conceivably get used to this!

It's not what I expected, with 15 year old ingredients, what could have gone wrong?

    Oh....god, this was hilarious!

  • @7:00 for the final pour

  • its pronounced wert

  • I was laughing so hard I couldn't tell my wife the part about the expiration date. I had to rewind it to let her hear for herself. Funny!!

  • @mrlaney62 Thanks.

  • lmao!! this video is the funniest brewing vid on youtube. Im 18 and would never use a 15 yr old kits ingredients but your the man for trying lmao

  • @DillonWSylvester Thank you much for the comment sir.

  • Great video. Made me laugh and it's good to know that you didn't puke from using older than most military MRE's.

  • @bloodenvy0311 Luckily no puking ensued from drinking this brew. It would have made a funny follow up video though. Thanks for the comment.

  • this made me laugh so hard. love it.

  • @Domenic182 Thank you very much.

  • If you are going to get serious, get serious. You're brewing a donkeys urine sample.

  • @420Honey This was only my failed first (and experimental) attempt I've brewed 13 successful batches of beer since this one went horribly wrong for me. Check out some of my more recent videos If you want to see me do a better job.

  • @Premnasbiaculeatus - Yeah for sure. I think a lot of it has to do with ingredient freshness (yeast), sanitization, and fermentation temp.

  • You're funny. Nice job on this video.

  • @kennybellew Thank you.

  • Wow, you have low standards on beer and kinda morbid, anyways still made we laugh.

  • @Cowcaster88 Thanks for the comment.

  • Thank you. I have been laughing since you mentioned the bakers yeast. I have been making liquors and beer for 20-30 years and have tried some off-kilt experiments myself Hint, never ever break a new brew open for company. Always test first. I actuaally do make a few small batches in an old "MR Beer" keg. its fun, cheap, you can laugh at yourself for a small expense when experimenting.

  • @GrtGads Thanks for the comment. I'm glad I could give you a laugh. I've made multiple good brews since this failed first attempt.

  • 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back.

  • @wildjames Yeah, sorry about that. Watch my other videos "Brewing Mr. Beer from beginning to end" part 1 and 2. If you actually want to see a useful demonstration of brewing with this kit.

  • Looks like you got what you paid for :P

  • @420Honey Since making this video I've actually made a bunch of successful brews. So it really hasn't been a terrible investment overall. Thanks for the comment.

  • That tastes kinda awful, well lets try another swallow

  • @skillonidas It really wasn't all that bad, just tasted absolutely nothing like beer. Thanks for the comment.

  • Check out Craigtube... he is the master at brewing, get all my tips from him...

  • @chumowski Definitely, I'm already a subscriber and avid viewer. Thanks for the comment.

  • Very intresting..lol..

  • @jaimeolivajr thanks

  • My first brew tasted like orange and grass mixed with bluemoon after it was in the bottle for a while. It was awesome. although it wasn't what I was going for, and after a while it didn't taste that great.

  • @pcfix33 Alot of yeasts can produce very unexpected flavors and aromas. The whitelabs WLP300 makes beer taste and smell like bananas. The bakers yeast I used in this brew made it taste like charcoal and bread. Thanks for the comment.

  • coconut beer? sounds like that would be a hit in the pHilipines or somewhere in that area of asia.

  • @iwatcher69 I'll have to go some day. I love philipino food. Thanks for the comment.

  • Because you don't use normal baking yeast, is because it taste awfull.

  • @JoachimPetersen Very true, I've learned my lesson though. Check out some of my more recent videos if you want to see me get it right.

  • We've all made a shitty brew at some point, thanks for sharing yours!

  • @TreacleMary My Pleasure, thanks for the comment.

  • Stick to gardening!!
