This song came out around October of 1967 perhaps even the tail end of September at the earliest. At least from the aspect of hearing it on the radio as a popular song of that time.
@WackADoodleify Probably!! jk--they were big in the late 60s' early 70s'. I was born in '64 and loved their sound so much my parents bought my sister & I a few of their records. Wish I still had them. They still get alot of radio play on oldies stations and this song was in a tv commercial recently!
@LesbianVampireLover Once upon a time, people were accepted just like they were. They didn't need fake teeth/boobs/hair/tans etc. Everyone was welcome to the entertainment world even if they weren't "pretty & perfect". I,for 1, loved Billys' gap!!
@tubeboob49 You nailed it! Jennifer Grey is the poster child for people whose cute or distinguishing "imperfections" lend them their charm and identity and who are all but unrecognizable without such "flaws."
The Rain, the Park and Other Things." Kornfeld enviou as fitas para a MGM que lançou o single no final de 1967. A canção tomou os EUA chegando ao número dois na parada de sucessos vendendo em torno de um milhão de cópias. Não é um espetáculo? Por aqui, a música tomou as reuniões dançantes como eram chamadas e também todas as programações das emissoras de rádio.

I wonder why they even act like they're playing the music when it's very apparent they're performing to a recording
