I want to say how awesome this is... but I actually can't hear your playing until Hetfield's lead and when YOU finally come in (and really, you are simply playing the track from the album until then), it isn't remotely as good as when you are faux-guitaring it.
Thank you for your comment but may I suggest you to open your ears before accusing me to fake this cover. If you listen carefully the audio you should ear some lake of precision in my fingering positions that should attest that I played this song over the original track all time long of the video. You ear my playing better on Hetfield's solo. Ok, maybe I turn the track volume a little bit higher on this particular part.
I greatly value the effort that TheFytz has made in the development of this cover. I think it's the clearest video I have seen in a long time, not only that but he is helping those of us who are trying to develop our own skills.
Why don't you show us how much better you are!!! Until then, keep your negative comments to yourself please.
That is nice but I don't just run around YouTube typing up negative comments to people. This cat is pushing this as HIS version when in fact all he is doing is playing under the real recording until he tries to play the leads... and it is obvious to anyone not desperately trying to convince themselves otherwise.
You don't think i'm playing the song all video long ? Ok that's fine. I have no need to convince anyone. You don't believe me ? Never mind ! It's your opinion and it has to be respected as any other...even if you're wrong...
You don't need specific settings for garageband. The idea is run garageband, plug your gears, record and play. The way I use it is very close to this idea. I run garageband, plug guitar in my toneport and the toneport directly in the computer.
Then I set one track for each guitar track I want to record and record each track separately. I have one more track for the original file of the song (or for a backtrack if I have one). The final step is the mixing step. I use very basic settings. I panned each guitars left and right and left the lead guitar in the middle. In the end I try to mix the volume to include my guitar parts with the rest of other instruments, and not to cover it. That's it. Hop I answer your question :)
Nice cover, but sometimes It's hard to hear your own guitar. I prefer that your sound it's louder than the background track, but that's my opinium. Keep rocking, you've got nice skills !
It is a relatively easy song, but the riffage is badass regardless of its difficulty. And yes, that's a good thing. Next on your Metallica list should be something along the lines of Outlaw Torn...about the same difficulty with some great riffs.
It's indeed very much in the school of Francisco Meza, even down to the tennis shirt;) Joking aside, brilliant playing, man. IMHO, your tone is just slightly overcooked in the effects department, and I'm sure you'll say mine is slightly undercooked, if you care to listen:) Anyway, great playing and amazing technique. Very inspiring. Cheers!
greatest cover!
