  • I cant imagine living in a home with that beast that (unfortunately for her) is her father. With his yelling and forcefulness. If I were the mother I would have called the police on him.

  • I don't get why her mom freaked out so much when she passed out.. its really not a big deal

  • his father is so stupid and annoying !!!

    omg

  • Why would she run back to the direction of the store???

  • How do you get hair like that?

  • she's really pretty

  • wtf is wrong with her father. you can't force somebody with anorexia to eat like that. you can't force anybody to eat like that.

  • I think the father is the sickest member of the family, and that's NOT how you support someone with a debilitating, illness!

  • Suddenly I have this strange hankering for a pancake breakfast--eggs, bacon, OJ, the works over at IHOP tomorrow morning....Hee hee hee.

  • happy new year to my happy happy family lol

  • Her sister sucks! She needs to get a job and do things on her own. No one told her to get pregnant! I feel bad for Casey. Her family sucks!

  • "When can I see her". "After my exorcisim tonight."

  • I hated seeing Hermione cry

  • the eating disordered are very sensative just like the alcohilic

  • Omg i think of harry potter

  • I know this is a weird comment but the EMT guys' uniforms look like parking attendants.

  • i hate her dad

  • @Angellightmist1016 his duaghter is dying and u say take a chill pill wtf i know the dad isnt handling it the best way but he just wants her to be healthy and eat

  • I really hate people who get angry and scream.

  • I have an uncontrollable urge to punch the Dad repeatedly in the face.

  • He scares me when he yells.

  • The music is really bad.....

  • im sorry but the sound track to this is bloody hilarious!

  • her dad's a fucking idiot

  • the dads never understand.

  • What wad she stealing? Laxatives or diet pills?

  • her older sister is really creepy

  • Her dad has some issues

  • omg her dad is such an asshole wtf

  • @14christinaa I see where your coming from - but its sooo had to understand for some people. He's just very frustrated. Plus I'm guessing this is quite an old film - eating disorders weren't as well known years ago - he probably thinks what he's doing is best when in fact he's making it worse - its , unfortunetly a common mistake to make.

  • bahaha she unconscious and the mums going "CASEY WHATS THE MATTER" yea she's hell just gonna wake up and say "nothing what's up?" hahaha funny her mums stupid

  • @naeram Well, let's see an immediate family member of yours fall unconscious and then find out how YOU would react. You can make fun of the mother all you want, but experiencing something like that first hand is a shocking event: panic takes hold of you, and common sense is thrown out the window.

  • "Happy New Year everybody!" LMAO.

  • @leanneismyname If Gail said that to my mom in the exact situation, my mom would punch her face nonstop until it bleeds, screeching that she's a worthless hag and no guy will ever like her. Now if the dad in this movie did that, I would roll on the ground laughing.

  • only in this time period of the world would be have such prevalent problems like obesity and anorexia

  • i feel so bad for the dad..he feels so lost

  • well that shut him the hell up! he would have felt so bad if she died when he was having a rant at her for making their lives miserable.

  • what horrible parents... why did they even have children? honestly...

  • Her sister is so snarky.

  • At first, i didn't really like the father, sorta reminded me of mine, and then seeing this, i think he truly cares about his daughter. Like many have said, he just doesn't know how to handle it nor have the tools to cope with this kind of thing. But now seeing this part, i do feel sorry for her father, and see him in a different light. :)

  • @WrittenSouls This.

  • I think the father had a horrible way of trying to handle the situation but at least he did care enough to do something, so many parents now days just look the other way and ignore their kids problems

  • well i think the father does simply not know what to do,, times were different back then and he only wants the best for his daughter.. i actually kinda like him

  • the dad did an awesome job drilling in a negative association with food. my parents were very similar. they obviously cared but didn't have the tools to deal with the situation.

  • @nickinicki05 exactly. why the hell do men always pick fights at the dinner table?

  • So many parents think that their children are trying to punish them...

  • did my youtube just fuzz like anold tv set @ 4:43?

  • I know her dad reacts in totally the wrong ways, but it really would be terrifying watching your child waste away, seemingly of their own volition. I feel so bad for him when he goes out and tries to talk to her about the football game and everything. He cares, he just doesn't know what to do.

  • Casey sure has a lot of hair...

  • Wow seriously... the dad needs to take a chill pill. He is making her more stressed.... and being stressed = the more she will vomit. People make me so angry because so many people are oblivious to this type of disorder. Everyone just thinks it can easily be fixed... oh excersize and eat right. Well for many people it isnt that easy. For me, that way doesnt allow me to lose much weight. I wish people would research before jumping to conclusions!

  • it's Pappy O'Daniels flour hour! what a jerk.

  • I do feel bad for the dad though, he's probably just frightened and confused about his daughter!

  • The mom at least tries to talk... What a messed up family she has :p

  • If pancakes aren't for breakfast then when exactly would you eat them?

  • @MolkoxLewd dessert!

  • @MolkoxLewd lunch? dinner? haha

  • @CAM91394 but they're sweet foods.

  • a dull voice after the hysterical scene: "happy New Year everybody, Happy New Year my HAPPY family..." XD

  • Gail's a bitch!

  • ok I got to say I was SOOO HAPPY when she bit her Father, the mom at least was trying to get her a healthy meal, but the dad wasnt even listening to her.

  • Shes so pretty!

  • And the mom was the female lead in North by Northwest (1959). Even more interesting. :)

  • The dad is in the movie Tootsie (which was a year after this movie). Pretty interesting, huh?

  • She looks like Hermione Granger

  • @s7cks I totally thought that too!

  • @s7cks Emma Watson.

  • @s7cks You mean Emma Watson.

  • @missgracegallagher She looks more like Hermione than Emma Watson, though. It's the hair.

  • First of all, I love that photo above Casy's bed! It's a classic! And also...people need to understand that Casey's entire family is part of the problem-not just Casey, not just her dad, not just anybody-all of them as a whole. Since they're all part of the problem, they all need to be part of the solution. That's why the family therapy session near the end was really why made a HUGE difference, and was the great beginning in Casey's recovery.

  • wow. her dad should just kill himself

  • reminds me of when they tried to worse me to eat, it didn`t go well.

  • That sister is a creeper.

  • When I saw this in highschool 15 yrs ago it really freaked me out how she looked. Now its not so shocking, I think its because the world has changed now all the models are heroin chic and were used to looking at people who are emaciated. Sad.

  • Yeah the father is a TOTAL douche...but in that situation most parents are. They are scared out of their minds and they don't know what to do. They panic and usually do the worst thing to do.

  • Aww, Casey's father was kind of sweet to offer to pick her up from school after feeling bad for the way he treated her the night before. Sad, how he yells at her again later on that day.

He was just stressed because Casey has always been the good girl (while her sister acts like a spoiled brat).

  • oh, shut up gail. you're preggers and you ain't even got a man. happy new year to you, skank

  • Haha I love the way the dad screams when she bites him

  • the sister sounds like some kinda serial killer in that monotone voice eekad

  • Her father doesn't know how to deal. Hes anger because he doesn't know what to do. It's tough to have a kid in emotional touble and be so helpless towards them.

  • That sister is such a bitch.

  • oh my god, shut up, that sister speaks at the most unnecessary times.

  • I love when parents try to make amends. She hated herself more then ever. Her A--hole dad just had to start yelling. I can empathize with kc.

  • the dad's an ass!!!!

  • casey is so beautiful :) I know what she's going through with her dad, and mum...but the worst thing is...she can't even rely on her sister. Her sister gets all the attention for nothing.

  • Reminds me of my father. Not really interested in what was going on in my mind when I was anorexic, just eager for it all to be over, so he didn't have to think about it anymore. Trying to put his daughter in a box regardless whether he injures her limbs.

  • The wife needs to take her kids and run!

  • That dad is awful. I think i prefer my dad just ignoring me or treating me like im stupid- its better than what her dad is like

  • Her dad is terrible and is being part of the problem not the solution!!!

  • where did you get these clips is this movie on DVD

  • is he drunk?? he seems drunk

  • holy crap that dad like through her down the stairs aha

    freeaaaakk

  • Uhgh... this man got almost mad trying to force her to eat ...

  • WHEN HE WENT IN FOR THE CHEEK KISS AT 4:23 SHE SHOULD HAVE PUNCHED HIM IN THE FACE.

  • This film - Maaaaaaajor thinspo. <33

  • do people really eat pancakes foe breakfast.........? I thought it was only in the simpsons.....

  • @eppieellen I thought the same xd

  • @eppieellen lol omg of course yes

  • Yes people eat them for breakfast all the time. Why? When do you eat them?

  • @eppieellen pfff yeah, i mean why would they?

because idk about you but i totally have steak and pizza in the morning, and save the cereal and pancakes for dinner

i mean i think ihop is just crazy. serving people pancakes for breakfast? that's so.....oh yeah, normal -.-

  • @LittleKittyWittyAMVs I don't know where abouts in the world you live but I sure know that in Ireland ( where I live) we sure don't eat panckaes for breakfast !

by the way, that comment wasn't meant to offend you and there was no need to take it so seriously, and there was absolutely NO need for the ironic sarcasm

  • @eppieellen Um...ever hear about the United States of America? =/

And your comment didn't offend me, nor did I take it seriously. Only one who's taking things seriously is you here. Also I use sarcasm all the time, plus it's the internet. Most of us act like douchebags online whether we mean it or not. You can either handle it or not, sorry.

  • @eppieellen Yes. We do eat pancakes for breakfast. At least once a week!

  • @IlkaZapata cool thanks ! I actually never knew that ! thanks again !

  • @eppieellen when would you eat pancakes? duh

  • @nikkidanielle1969 In Britain pancakes aren't the same as in the US and they're a sweet desert, not a breakfast.... i'm tempted to say ''DUH'' but i'm not rude.

  • @SexyTruffles I'm from the UK too. McDonalds only serve pancakes in the morning as well don't they? I've always found that pretty weird...

  • @eppieellen All the time. Maybe it's a North American thing...

  • @eppieellen i eat pancakes every morning...

  • @eppieellen Yes, we do! Haha. Pancakes are amazing, though I'd rather have waffles. :)

  • @eppieellen haha, my family likes that :)

  • @eppieellen

Ummm, yes people do. It's an american breakfast food..

  • @eppieellen Aw this comment is adorable <3

  • @eppieellen LLOOOOL

  • Casey looks like Hermione Granger.

  • I hate this scene, she never stole anything in the book or even use laxatives for that matter

  • what an A-hole. I would've done more than just bite his finger!

  • If that older sister was my kid I would have kicked her out loooooong time ago, or make her get a job and pay rent. She doesn't seem to work or go to school or anything.

  • The dads the one that needs help jeesh..

  • dieting pills don't work

  • @mariellaSabrinaa they might not work but it makes an anorexic think it works spuring them on..

  • Stupid father, making it worse...

  • it is crazy once you do you alost become addicted to it

  • she reminds me of heather langenkamp

  • i hate her dad. clearly he's just extremely ignorant.

  • Feel sorry for the mum in all this

  • The mother needs to knock the shit out of the father.

  • Her parents shouldn't waste their time yelling at her and fretting so much. What they should do, if they really care, is throw her into a hospital and have her tube fed for a good year or two.

  • throw them outta the house, make em get a job and see what life is like. spoilt morons. Poor dad having such f.up conceited self centred children.

  • @acmedressform The kids are conceited because one of them has a mental illness and the other got pregnant on accident, but didn't want to kill the child? Are you slow in the head or something? You are extremely ignorant.

  • @ohthatweirdgirl you're probably a spoilt self indulgent little girl.

  • @acmedressform lol yeah. I'm so spoilED and obsessed with myself. that's me. You're still completely stupid in the head for thinking the way you do. :]

  • i love the decor in their house. it reminds me of growing up in the 80's

  • It's common for someone to be angry at a disease, but reflect their anger on the person. It's easier to attack something you can see and hit.

  • Happy New Year to my happy, happy family.

  • he isnt an idiot he just doesnt know what to doand he loves him daughter and he doesnt know what to do!

  • how her dad is. thats how my mom is. :( FML

  • The father is an idiot yes but at some point I can understand his anger of his daughter not eating. Altough the way he is, is totally wrong and he his a very bad father.

  • LOL when she fainted the music reminded me of the music in monty python with that killer rabbit :P:P

  • omg i would bitch slap that fool if i were the mom. i hate these submissive wives man.

  • i actuallt saw this movie the first time in jr. high in health class. go figure

  • i dont really think the dad is really all that bad....i mean think about it...wouldnt u go crazy if ur daughter was pregnant and ur other daughter practically suicidal??Of course he shouldnt be so like.....loud and mean but he's prob under a ton of stress w.work, his wife and his daughters!!!

  • love it when the older sis says HAPPY NEW YR EVERYBODY HAPPY NEW YR TO MY HAPPY HAPPY FAMILY LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO she says it with a boring tone of voice with a straight face hilarioussss

  • wow. way to pick the worst possible way to "help" an anorexic. kudos, father.

  • @fattyacidsbabeh the father is such a freaking a-whole. seriously. wow. psycho freaking path.

  • I will say it again, I HATE her father. SO MUCH!

  • "doctor i had no idea her not eating would get this serious" the first fucking doctor told her what would happen it kept continuing!!

  • he reminds me of my dad

  • Wow, that guy is crazy!

  • When someone writes like this you know that they're either getting a kick out of trying to push your buttons or actually too blind to know -or learn anything.

*YAWNS* I actually have intelligent people to talk to and better things to do than feed this troll.

  • @babybunnyberry Ah. Yes, calling me a troll because you finally ran out of lies to throw at me. I suggest you learn a little bit about feminism, the severeness of it in modern day, how fathers in England can't even take pictures of their daughters in public in the risk of being accused as pedophiles, and how warped your so called "statistics" really are compared to reality. Have a great day.

  • The father is not an asshole. His reaction as a parent was understandable and realistic. I mean his daughter is killing herself slowly, try to be in his shoes. The mother isn't doing shit and I'm sure he feels helpless. It's not the right way to react because it's only hurting her more, but he's human and anger is sometimes the only thing family members have left to express when shit like this happens. They just can't understand why the people they love are doing this to themselves.

  • @CrimsonVibrato The father is the CAUSE of the problem. People (and especially men) who control you like this make you feel out of control.

  • @babybunnyberry

Out of all due respect, you are a feminist who thinks men are the causes of all problems. (By the way, I am female. :) No, he is NOT the sole cause of this problem. From what I can see, the mother like the father never notices when the girl is utterly ignored during family fights and arguments. Woman can be just as equally controlling and in many cases violent as any father, man, whatever can be. I love how it is always the father that is targeted in movies...

  • @CrimsonVibrato I didn't say he was the sole cause, but he is certainly the main cause of the problem. I didn't say that women could not be controlling, but women tend to be less violent about their control (not always, but there is a tendency; hence the numbers of battered wives against battered husbands). And...are you trying to use the word "feminist" as an insult?

  • @babybunnyberry Do you take feminist as an insult? If you do, I'm sorry but by your comments you fit the description to a T. Also to the battered wives as in contrast to the battered husbands, you are absolutely wrong. Media, society, etc...completely warp the reality of domestic violence in gender. Statistics that are not influenced by feminism always end in the same conclusion: The number of battered females and males are either around the same, or battered men statistics are slightly higher..

  • @CrimsonVibrato 1) You obviously *do* use feminist as an insult. This speaks volumes about your views in general. Are there more battered men than women? No. Domestic violence is the first cause of death for women worldwide (more than cancer, and more than all accidents put together). I suggest you actually do some serious reading on the topic, as your views are clearly quite warped.

  • @babybunnyberry I have done very serious research on this topic and I suggest you do the same. Very RARELY are there more battered woman than men, the statistics are either very similar in numbers or the number in men are slightly higher. If you check police reports each year, you'll find hundreds of reports reported by men against their girlfriends, wives, etc...Yet so many are ignored or when the authorities do get to the apartment, it often ends in the MAN getting arrested.

  • @babybunnyberry Also the leading cause of death in women is heart disease, following behind is cancer. Don't patronize me, I am very highly educated and your theory that domestic violence in women is their leading cause of death is bs.

  • @babybunnyberry ....Search around the internet for articles on people speaking out against battered men, people who are not blind to the reality.

Women can be just as violent as men, even if physically some women may not be as strong as men, objects are often used and can cause severe harm. I've seen at least three cases of wives burning their men with cigarettes for example. There is also proof that woman on contrary belief are actually more prone to staring fights then the men.

  • @babybunnyberry Last and not least, her eating disorder sprouted from the instability of her FAMILY, not just her father. It's a family that has trouble communicating other than through arguments and fights, and the girl is constantly caught in the middle of it. From the jealousy of her sister and her seemingly desire to want to start trouble, to her short tempered father, to her 'doesn't want to face the issue' mother, she's caught in all of it and never finds the voice to speak out.

  • @CrimsonVibrato 2) Are women as violent as men? Yes. Feminists have been saying this for years: women are indeed perfectly capable of defending themselves; it is only lack of training that makes them weak. Are women more prone to violence than men? No. Statistics are about the same.

  • @babybunnyberry Yes, feminists may say that women have the right to defend themselves, but they always seem to deny statistics on battered men. Feminists are always so ready to make us females look like weak, defenseless beings who are often victims of the wrath of men, and are so disbelieving in the fact that men as well (and just as often) suffer abuse from females.

  • @CrimsonVibrato on the contrary, feminists completely acknowledge the statistics on battered men. These prove that women can be as violent as men, a central tenet of feminism. I think the problem here is that you don't know what feminism actually *is*. Feminism simply means that women and men are equal (in rights and duties, and in their capacity for good and evil).

  • @babybunnyberry FYI, statistics on the percentage of men as victims of domestic violence fluctuate between 17% and 29% of all cases of domestic violence in Western countries. In non-Western societies, where women are likely to be stoned to death, burned alive, etc. they make less than 1%. There are places called libraries out there. Read. It is the only way to actually stop putting that foot in your mouth.

  • @babybunnyberry Plain and simple: statistics and studies on domestic violence are extremely biased towards men. All this is a result of media, a feminist society, etc.

For example, during the 1993 Super Bowl, it was announced throughout the country that battered womens shelters reported a sharp increase in calls

during Super Bowl Sunday. However sources from the Boston Globe found that this was in fact utterly FALSE.

  • @babybunnyberry In yet another case, several major newspaper companies reported that according to Dime's study, domestic violence was the #1 cause of birth defects. And not surprisingly, there was never such study to begin with.

  • @babybunnyberry Research by sociologists in the past 25 years have shown that acts of violence in relationships occur at similar rates in both genders. Actually about half of these acts include BOTH female and male taking part in violence (and no honey, for the females it is not in self defense.) The Fiebert Bibliography, have performed over 100 studies which show that women are as likely, or MORE likely, to commit abuse in relationships as men.

  • No dear, feminists do NOT acknowledge the statistics on battered men. Don't even start with that ridiculous bs. Just how they do not accept statistics that women outlive men in practically every thing there is to die from. YOU obviously have no clue what feminism represents TODAY, excluding Asia...etc. Back then in the days of the civil rights movement was when your such definition of feminism existed. In Asia and Islamic cultures they definitely could use some help, but --
