  • Well done mate!

  • he loves steak... he absolutely loves steak

  • This guy is the biggest Gordon Ramsay-wannabe I've ever seen.

  • that looks like pork chops not steak

  • cant get better steak than a steak from South Africa!

  • I WANT A BRITISH ACCENT!!!

  • @21link121 This is Australian. D:

  • If you want the favor of butter going into the steak, you really don't need that much butter. You can make 1/4 of the butter shown in the video and melt it right before you start frying your steak. Heat together with olive oil or even without because the fats besides the steak will melt into oil which smells good and more healthy, if you concern.

  • fake ass picture brought me here

  • Thanks Nicko! I'll give it a try.

  • That finger & thumb trick is the handiest thing I've seen! Thanks!

  • Even though butter is a little too much on the unhealthy side. I will probably replace it with some olive oil. Thanx for the recipe. It's nice of u to share.

Wut I don't understand is the retarded comments by some people. Apparently ur watching this video cause u don't know how to cook. So STFU and learn and appreciate.

  • Not very healthy...

  • Vaginas.

  • this really is quite bad, @spaghettipolicy I'm an Australian and know how to cook a steak but this guy obviously doesn't giving us a bad name :( Nicko that is far from the best EVER steak!

  • The dude uses $5.00 pan bought at a tag sale & burs the unnecessary butter. Epic fail!

  • that looks terrible. You dont know how to cook a steak.

  • IM SO HUNGRY

  • u dont even have a grill pan this is pathatic

  • Gordon ramsay wannabe! "No color, no flavor." Haven't heard that one before.

  • that looks like vomit.

Australians do not know how to make steak.

  • Loooks like yellow vomit..COLOR? wth!

  • I enjoyed the video, thanks!!

  • I've been messing around with this technique as shown on Chef Ramsey's videos and it works great! I couldn't believe that I could cook a steak, much less cook one in a pan. I couldn't be happier as my wife and I both love steaks. This is certainly worth a try before you try to debunk it. The proof is in the palate!

  • Rule #0: get rid of this crappy pan. Your steak deserves much better, like a properly seasoned carbon steel (de Buyer) or or cast iron skillet. You'll be amazed at how much better your result is.

  • far from perfect, i hope the cooked enjoyed it

  • That'll be the Sirloin then, what a man you was Sir Loin.

  • looks terrible...

  • atemperar la carne y salpimentar despues para no quemar la pimienta no ?

  • Just about to start the video, and this one better be as PERFECT as u say it is. U don't mess with the steak, or I'm done watching you. Mate.

  • Im just asking but is it possibale to cook a steak in a crock pot and slow cook one,

  • i'll give it a try, always use "garlic/pepper/salt", it's actually all in one shaker container sold at a few stores i know, quite low priced. i tried olive oil a couple times, but never olive oil and butter, worth a try, couldn't hurt...

  • FUCKING IDIOT PPL THIS STEAK IS ALIVE I CAN HEAR IT.Y DONT KNOW HOW TO COOK Y ARE VAMPIRE OR Y LIKE TASTE OF BLOOD?GREEK KITHCEN FTW!!

  • I'm sorry to say this but that is no where near perfect. It doesn't look juicy or mouth watering.

  • Grose! It isent even half way done! it should bi cocked about the bouble time!

  • Robjnixon guide to making videos.

Step 1: look at an existing cooking video

Step 2: copy it and pretend you're a professional.

    DONE.

  • serve with baked potato and french bread

  • Thanks for the tip! perfect enjoyed it...

  • Copying Ramsay.....

  • With all due respect "mate", but amazingly enough you managed to DO ABSOLUTELY EVERYTHING WRONG! You can't possibly end up w/ a "PERFECT" steak, when you: (1) use such a thin piece of meat; (2) Pan fry your "steaks" instead of BBQ them over charcoal; (3) season your steak w/ salt, and especially pepper, prior to cooking; (4) use olive oil & garlic [which have strong/characteristic tastes, among other problems, that ruin the natural flavors of the steak], (5) use a wrong cut of un-aged meat....

  • @NothingMaster Hank Hill of youtube!

  • @NothingMaster Your opinions are totally subjective. Who cares if you perfer your steak cooked over a bbq? Who cares if you don't like to season your steak before cooking it? The method of cooking steak in this video is totally fine and many major pro chefs use this exact method. Stop with the whine, if you already know how to cook the perfect steak then why are you watching this video...

  • @jonnylaris He's a troll, he can't even make a sandwich.

  • @jonnylaris Listen here you MORON, the whole point is: If [as you say] it's all "subjective", then you can't possibly call it a "perfect" steak! ... Perfect for whom? You did get one thing right though: WHO GIVES A F**K WHAT YOU THINK. Go eat your freaking pan-fried aussie "steaayaak" and shot the EFF up.

  • @jonnylaris Its fine if you want to bbq your steak, but it adds notes and flavors. Cooking to the pref core temp has nothing to do with how you do it but most people like a nice crust - something a barbeque is not always very good at. Im not saying this video is anything other than "homey", but prefering a steak smokey and not seasoning it has nothing to do with actual cooking. If you'd said something about peppering too early, pan too cold or steaks being way too thin, I wouldnt have objected

  • @NothingMaster yeah FUK YOU man

  • @NothingMaster How do you know that this is the wrong method? Are you the steak authority? If it tastes good, then that is the RIGHT method. And as far as I know, you haven't tried his steak, so you have no basis for criticizing this method unless you tried it yourself and failed. And even if you did, you probably failed cuz you fail in everything, not because the cooking method is wrong.

  • @NothingMaster are you even a chef? i highly doubt it, as i am one though. He didn't do to bad of a job at cooking his steak by sauteing it not pan frying it. Pan frying is when it comes up half way through the size of the meat. you are SUPPOSED to season your meat before grilling/sauteing etc. now the thinness and cut sucked on his steak and sear could have been better. actually the garlic along with the salt and pepper will help bring out the natural flavor of the steak you are cooking, muppet

  • @NothingMaster you're just a little fag that THINKS he knows what he's doing and that he's a pro chef well how about you stop trolling on this dudes video there's nothing wrong with his steak you're just a troll that thinks he can do EVERYTHING RIGHT. But you can't Hank Hill fag.

  • @markie12101 You aussie cocksukas are all the same. I'm the "troll" who made objective criticisms; and you're the fag whose aussie arse got shafted and had nothing to say, but burpin' empty insults. Get a life MF.

  • @NothingMaster your a fucking fag 6 year old troll hank hill bitch who can't even curse.

  • niko the nigger

  • I ALWAYS have Dark French mustard with a steak!

    A match made in heaven!

  • you should season with pepper at the end of cooking as the pepper burns whilst cooking leaving a harsh taste on the meat

  • SoRRy but the perfect steak is cooked over charcoal

  • olive oil is not for cooking steak, high smoke point oils such as grapeseed oil is much better.

  • I love to use sea salt and the smallest pinch of cracked black pepper corns.

  • Porterhouse in the U.S. is a NY strip and filet attached on the bone.

  • Your steak is to thin, you season before cooking, you use (judging from the color) extra vergine olive oil, which turns bitter when heated and to top it off you use a non-stick pan...!!!

Yeah right... the best ever steak.

  • Cooking with olive oil isnt really smart, should've went with something that can do higher temperatures and preferrably neutral in taste, then add olive oil later on.

  • he PERFECTLY cooked that.

  • What setting and approx how long on each side? Thanks

  • Never!!! Never put any salt on steaks before you put it on pan or grill !

  • @Volteron why?

  • @tangypasta

see my previous comment but you are supposed to put salt/pepper on a steak before you put it on a pan but you should never salt it then let it sit for an hour or so as it de-cures the meat

  • @Volteron

That's only if you're planning to refrigerate it or let it sit for a couple of hours :P

  • I LOVE THE WAY YOU PUT A PICTURE OF A STEAK THAT IS NOT YOUR...! thumbs up that shot guy

  • I like my steaks the way I like bananas. Their skin falls of revealing a soft mushy yellow inside.

  • nice aluminium pan

  • Give me a hot charcoal grill with a fire to one side. A few lumps of soaked hard wood. A couple of dry aged ribeyes, and some quality fresh ground pepper and salt and I'll show you a steak.

  • These cuts are too lean.

  • SnigernDk....Then why do all the top chefs in world salt before they cook steak? You're an idiot man...

  • You shouldnt salt before cooking. It pulls out the flavors.

  • @SnigernDK salt pulls moisture if you leave it for a while. if you add salt just before you put the steaks in the pan it tastes better imo.

also, i add olive oil to my steak, not to the pan.

  • everyone has their versions of steak but yummy.. nice shot bro

  • the "perfect steak" is a matter of opinion, so to the people saying you over-cooked it or whatever... that's an opinion. The axe I have to grind however is that you can't really say this is a "how-to" video without ever once mentioning cooking times, or flipping times. The finger and palm trick won't tell you when to flip it.

  • I love how he gets a foodgasm at the end of every video

  • Personally i don't think you can cook a perfect steak other then on a bbq grill plus i use rock salt and oil the steaks before i put them on the bbq and massage the salt and pepper in. Also rosmary is quite nice to cook on the steak with the salt and pepper, just my opinion but, i'm sure this way is good also

  • In my opinion It's alot better to use Rock Salt

  • Great finger trick...I never knew to do that...cool

  • #1 You don't use a nonstick pan!

  • hehe fat and juicy

  • Your meat is cut to thin, get your butcher to cut them thick!

  • Buttah

  • ribeyes are better, you overcooked the new york.....fail...

  • in the 1:53 minutes the man spits the pan

  • Porterhouse is a NY Strip with a filet mignon. You simply have the NY Strip without the filet mignon. Aussies know better than this. You're representing your country very poorly and making everyone think Aussies are ignorant on cuts of meats which they aren't anymore than anyone else. Simply Google Porterhouse. Don't be so stupid. Also, olive oil the steak dummy, not the skillet. Then pepper the steak. God, how did you get so many views on such a bad method?

  • @christschool because he cooked some delicious looking steaks. i hope that answered your idiotic question.

  • Man. That looks so good...

  • I know this for a fact... for the perfect steak... oil the steak not the pan

  • Everytime I eat rare to meduim steak, I get a stomach ache or diarhea. Why is this? Do I need to cook my meat until is well done to burnt?

  • @LaoSoftware You have to train the stomach. If you are having this problem, you don't have enough beneficial bacteria in it which isn't healthy.

  • The best steak is in the U.S., I have traveled throughout the world, and none are better...

  • What's up with everyone pan frying in thee videos? There is no way to make the "best steak" without grilling. Period.

  • @VTAcraft I use to think the same until I used a cast iron skillet. Don't follow this guys method, its BS. Search "perfect way to cook steak" on google.

  • Nothing Like The Picture :(

  • STOP MAKING ME HUNGRIER!!!!!!!!!!!

  • with my steak either cassava or potatoes. Baked, boiled or par-boiled then stir-fried. It doesn't really matter.

  • pussy

  • so on high heat the whole time?

  • Two-die, hao tiu cuke tha pear-fect staek.

  • Bloody Hell, you fucked them steaks up the second they hit that pan. You cook steak on a grill son.

  • Pretty bad steak you got there. It's like a millimeter thick. You need dry aged.

  • Mushroom sote.

  • Thanks for this very informative video. I will be making it tomorrow.

  • I think I'm going to marry a man who cooks like that:)

  • das geht besser....

  • vandam of the kitchen haha

  • couldn't get past the ego on this video (first 2 seconds actually). what a jerk.

  • WTF, it looks so bloody O_O

  • @PolpettinaDolciosa

    I've had bloodier. Pussy haha.

  • @PolpettinaDolciosa that's the way a steak should be -_-

  • WTF, it looks so bloody O_O

  • You did it all wrong. Where was the grill?

  • I like my steak like I like my women. Sun burn on the outside, all pink on the inside:)

  • @Doxi99 and i like my women like i like my coffee. hot, black, and in the morning.

  • @Doxi99 @Robjnixon Doxi i totally agree hahaha, Rob, a handy tip, if your just using garlic to give a your butter a garlic taste, a good way to extract all those yummy garlic juices is by making hairline cuts onto the garlic, then the inside juices will come bursting out when the inside gets hot (: so your butter will have more garlic flavour(:

  • Fucking wannabe gordon ramsay

  • @Krabbo7 i guess anyone who cooks is a wannabe of some lame tv chef, right?... moron...

  • @Krabbo7 Not really, he isn't swearing his head off at someone.

  • u forgot to wipe it in ur ass :D jks thanks man i followed ur instructions XD

  • The ONLY way to cook a steak is over charcoal or wood on a grill. Love my Weber! That steak doesn't even look good. You should have used a cast iron skillet at the very least.

  • You forgot to put it on the grill.

  • no dude, we cook steaks over a flame! for a perfect steak : )

  • You forgot the first couple of rules of making perfect steak. First of all, the meat has to be at room temperature to start with. You also need a better pan. None of those 'teflon coated' pans that end up with scratches all over them.

Also, don't know why you need to add the butter. And, a little bit of balsamic vinegar, just as the steak is reaching perfection is to die for!

Most important rule though...meat at room temperature

  • dont call this the perfect steak. cos its not. I cook the perfect steak and its well done. and i put more than just salt and pepper. are you guys still in the ice age?

  • Sorry man, but a pan cooked steak will never beat my grilling skills..

  • orgasm in the mouth!!!

  • ~Yells~ MOM TAKE ME TO THE STORE , IM GETTING DINNER.

  • That 'blood' you see on the steak is actually protein and not blood.

  • if it aint bleedin', i aint eatin'

  • MEAT CANCER

  • @karezza6 Cancer? LOL!

  • cook a perfect steak you say? USE A GRILL!!!

  • thats white people steak. you might as well eat it raw. YUCK!!!!

  • @pirell Have you tried it?

  • @pirell You-mean-everyone-in-the-world-except-for-you steak.

  • @pirell lmaoo

  • @nokaffirisinnocent and do u know how ridiculous u sound? so tell me,what sort of disease we people, who knows how to appreciate steak have?

  • Did you put those steaks on a papertowel? I would never do that and loose all that wonderful butter season flavor...

  • this is fried steak! steak should not be like that...

  • Beautiful and pink inside, lol get it?

  • Um this resembles Gordon Ramsay version. And alot of what you say is said in his cookalong video!

  • He sure gets a lot inspiration from Gordon Ramsay...

  • This reminds mi of Jamie Oliver's steak recipe, but who cares.

a stake is a stake, eat if before it gets cold!

  • ok Nicko love your video's but you need to give more details, like how long each side to cook and rest.

  • his Aussie accent makes the food look better too :D

  • That's fucking disgusting, it's so undercooked it's not funny.

  • @BornWhiteSupremacy1 I wouldn't say its undercooked. Its not even rare, just medium rare. Besides, I'll never understand why people are happy to eat flesh and offal, but are repulsed by the tiniest bit of blood

  • @BornWhiteSupremacy1 No it's not, it's perfect! Me wants!

  • Non stick???

  • "You want khala! if theres no khala ! theres no flavah"

I dont want to be an asshole or anything but that made me rofl a little =)

  • Comment removed

  • You dont season it prior to putting them in the pan.

  • looks Great

  • Cooked to perfection. Some people say it wasn't seared but bear in mind these steaks are 1/2 inch thin. The end result what counts.

  • the colour should be darker....the heat is too low -_-

  • Checking for the how well done or rare the steak is with your fingers + palm is the most brilliant thing!

  • Sear was mediocre at best imo

  • hey i am living in a valley surrounded by mountains and where atmospheric pressure is very low and it will at least take 45 minutes or more to cook the beef what should i do, i am damn sure that it will never get cooked in a pan .

  • Man.. I like your style but I really hate it when I hear the person chewing and savoring their meals when they are done cooking it. Its like a personal "F**K you viewers im eating some GOOD stuff right now and you guys aren't!". The Ultimate Tease!

  • @krazykwasi1 You have some serious issues.

  • "Tenda" "Oh man, I absolutely love steak" ha ha ha

The one thing I am not sure about is if it's cooked properly, I would say that would give me food poisoning, how do I know if it's not going to when it's that pink/red?

If you want the garlic to dissolve then why not crush it, why not even slice it?

Also, how come you're not using cooking oil, why use vegetable, I thought that was a no no?

I have a pepper corn sauce with mine, mate.

  • That's really perfect!!

  • now im hungry :'(

  • Garlic? No...

  • I like steak when it's still a bit.. uh, I assume, 'bleeding'? Like.. reaaally raw.. man, I'm a wolf.
