yuppers... the first time it happened i was like 'what the freak?!?!' i notice that if i place gentle pressure on the laptop where i normally type, using the palm of my right hand, i could cause the lines that would appear to appear and disappear.. which makes me wonder if the motherboard is very sensitive or intolerant to flexing. I have noticed the computer overheating more than normal too.
m1330 user here. this is strictly an nvidia geforce problem. Intel GMA users will not experience this problem. This case has been documented with dell and nvidia.
Dont buy the Dell XPS, lots of people have bought it and it accually started smoking and burning. For one guy it burned down the whole house. he barely made it out alive!
it's actually not dells problem it's nvidia's high end gpu's with the fan not distrabuting the heat enough so this causes a major problem with the graphic card and then it's dead...same thing happenes on a hp laptop..dell has made some updates to change the bios profile to speed the fans speed up
F U C K ! Go to the next dell store and want money back! Dell XPs are exploding if they are dead! Just watch a video like a dell xp melted a house and killed a dog! Trash those f**** dell xp´s ! No, really: They are ticking time bombs!
I didn't do any overclocking. This happened with factory settings. Anyways, Dell replaced the video card (which means replacing the motherboard) and everything seems to be working fine.
anyone have resolved this issue?

does anyone else get patches of "pixels" and then find it freezes, crashes, and then won't reboot?!

after many calls with Dell I finally got them to replace my mobo / video card. a pain to send it in but it is working much better-- for now..

Barely made it out alive? Don't exaggerate.
Anyone who has this graphics card and needs a replacement should ask for the Intel graphics instead. May not be as powerful but it works!

looks like you overclocked your video card too much. Or you have a loose contact between the lcd and the video card!
