  • vanishing points

  • The reason this drawing doesn't look realistic is because it's to angular. In reality the buildings will be more spaced out and less angular. Keep drawing.

  • wow you rock !

  • what is the song ?

  • This is so wrong! I remember drawing 3D buildings in 2nd or 3rd grade and they looked much, MUCH better than this. This does not respect reality.

  • maybe this follows the laws of physics technically, but to me it looks just kind wierd

  • It's some of the basis covered, if it's intent is to instruct and explain process, it's not bad

  • It kinda looks like your looking thru a fish eye lens, only, without the curving effect. I think it would look better if it were a less exaggerated. The vanishing points need to be further out. (and the bottoms of the buildings should not be flat.)

  • the letters also follow the vanishing point nub

  • I can do better the that ,...sorry

  • This is so NOT 3D. It's simple perspective drawing. BTW, the word: Market, the letters need to be straight (up and down) NOT in perspective.

  • I have the same straight edge!

  • How wud i draw the road infront of this?

  • @nate18871 He/she did this wrong. Above the "Dots" which is the eye level (EL), the drawing is in perspective. The big problem, he/she did not bring the buildings below EL. The "Dots" are VPs(vanishing points), where the objects apear to vanish in the distance. In order to draw the streets and side walks, bring the rest of the drawing down below the vp. Example: in this drawing, she/he should have continued the center line (corner) down an inch and draw to the vps. that will be the bottom of the

  • Continued: of the building and doors, ect. Bring the center line down (this time, it will be invisible) another 2 inches. this will be the close (to you) end of the street. Draw from that point to the VPs. Now you have a street. So now, you can easily figure out how to do the sidewalks and curb.

  • @JonaVicis very true. and she put all those buildings there and accentuated the deformation from the first mistake... if she would have left only the first building it would have looked much more better. but its nice for kids to have somethin to do than only to play games and do other bad things:)

  • absolutely, its weird, but the distance between the two dots is irrelevant to this matter , so the right thing should be: she should connect the lines based from the two dots and not JUST WILDLY GUESSING where the vanishing points are.

  • Thank u

  • WOw great this is just what i needed to complete my manga,Iam not so good at drawing backgrounds, iam just good at drawing anime characters :P and by the way whats the name of the song ??

  • hi i just have some trouble whit to put shadow at the right place

like in windows ,doors many thanks for the help

  • that isn't a 3d building

    just a two dots perspective

    anyway good tuto

  • @vinisparta I rarely see people using 3 dots for a perspective drawing. Her drawing looks weird because the two dots are waaay to close to eachother.

  • Thanks,SO much for the help

  • awesome!!!!

  • Well this is easy...

  • thank u so much, it helped me with my assignment

  • perspective is off! the building looks as its sinking. ok otherwise

  • Ok what about a different 3d like if u are looking from the top not front

  • the song is by seether and its called fine again

  • good job dude :D

can u give me the song name pls :D

  • lol!!!! i used a chopstick!

  • YOU SHOULD TOTALLY BE AN ARTIST/ ARCHITECT =333333333333333333333

  • i want to make my buildings to look a bit taller and stilely more 3-d should i simply move the two vanishing points farther for that?

  • thumbz up if you think the sun fails ;D

  • it must be faster...

  • lol fail

  • it looks like the buildings are sinking backwurds

  • thank you.

  • im doing that in art school right now..its very easy

  • thnx. this was nice!

  • thanx a lot for the video will tr y out ;)

  • damn i can't do it! apparently maybe cus my family doesn't have that much good drawers exept my uber expert older sister.....

  • You are biteing your finger nails

  • hey put this video a little fast

cause i had a assesment and it is slow ihate when something is slow and i have to waste my own time.

    this video sucks

oh i am saying to the own who made this video!!!!!!!!!!!

  • The general idea is there, which is good for people trying to learn to draw from a proper perspective. But if you look at it, there is something off about it. It's because your vanishing points need to be on the same line as your buildings. As you can see your vanishing points are below your buildings but they should be on the same line as where your vertical lines end. And i don't mean to sound like a critic, i'm just trying to help out with your art.

  • I think he/she is going for a more cartoonish look rather than a realistic one.

  • thax i forgot how to do this but now i remember

  • Love the music!!!!! That is Music!!!

  • if your using the 2 point perspective technique then why aren't you directing all your edges towards the vanishing points? your just making up these angles you should always direct all your angles back to the vanishing points only if they're directly vertical.

  • lemme ask u this..where did u learn this from lol does it look right to u??

  • your perspective drawing sucks!

  • you fail

  • if you are saying to the one who made this than you are right

  • Comment removed

  • why do u need the 2 dots at the start?

  • she needs the two dots.because all the lines connets there..is the vanishing point...

  • @NerrissCullen

hes doing a 2 point perspective drawing

    those are the vanishing points

  • nice picture but a sidewalk would go great go great with this

  • nail polish fail XD

  • hey you just gave me an idea:) P.S. the bottom line is flat so the building looks like it's sinking. It should go a little down just like it does on the top

  • well, it's good

but it can be waay better..

srry not trying to scold you,

i'm just saying what i think...

  • wooooow i can only draw a cube in 3d :D i suc but u ROCK!

  • COOL!!! =D

  • Comment removed

  • not bad.

but since the buildings are not on the horizon-line, all lines ecept of the vertical ones have to got to the vanishing points.

that means that the lines in your picture where the buildings stand on the ground have to go to the ponits you've drawn, too.

That's why your perspective is a litte bit off in the picture.

(Sorry for my bad english, I'm an architecture student from germany. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say)

  • What you said is true.I think the same thing as you..And your english is very good I'm mexican and I'm bad at it...But I mean your english is good keep it up..

  • your a beast...lol

  • this is really helpfull

  • you draw a little how i draw but i do more vraied building and taller ones but thanx ive added this vid to my playlist.

  • thanks this really helped me....and if i see any more videos like this im gonna subscribe
