Of all the tunes that ELO ever did, this was the one that I think they kicked ass on the most. It had a little bit of everything; a decent tempo, a nice touch of drama, and a hook that would pull you in with no mercy. Nice job, guys!

i bought some of the sony re mastered cds and performed an a-b comparison with the older lp versions.i promptly threw out the sony cd versions and im in the process of re engineering the album versions using my recording studio equipment.your re master is exellent by the way..first class.keep it up.

What's funny to me about hearing this song remastered is this: I heard this song on AM Top 40 radio when I was a teen. I remember it with that tin sound only AM radio had in those days. God, "music" on AM radio? So hearing it here in glorious CD quality w/no hiss or drop out when you went under a bridge is great...but my memory has it sounding different...but then memory is so much sweeter...when I was 17, and this came booming out of the radio on 610KILT in a 10 year old Olds in Houston...

Glad others feel the same as i do about today's shit mastering. Its like they feel the need to blast, distort and compress EVERYTHING. this here sounds like the original vinyl and also, the original cd issue that came out in the 80s when cd's were new (which is the cd i have - never wanted that "remastered" crap).

The vinyl still sounds sooooo much better. The space is way bigger, wider, deeper, taller on the original vinyl. This mastering is a lot more in front. Sad how music was killed in the digital age.

im 36 and a bass player...i love playing this song...its so much fun...ELO had a big imact on me very young..i ended up in orchestra from 1984 to 1990 and i think hearing bands in the 70s who utilized strings was a big part of me going that route..i play electric bass now and im looking for a band in cleveland who likes this stuff..hard to belive that ELO sold out 80.000 tickets here at cleveland stadium and i cant find one damn person to play this wonderful stuff with..TAKE NOTE!

i do have a freind who is a bit of a producer...he has prootools and so on we are suppost to get together soon..if i have to overdub every thing in the song i will..and if i have to go to college campus's in clevleand to recruit some young strings players i may do that too..i love elo but i can not see thwm being played with anyth8ing but strings..synths are not the same..im a working on it!

WOw!!! I've never seen this video before! The only time I've ever seen this song on TV (on VH-1 Classics a few years ago), it was a clip of Jeff, Kelly, Richard, and Bev playing the song in the studio. Kelly and Jeff are just shown singing. Bev is playing Roto-toms and nothing else. I think the only videos from Disco?Very! I ever saw back in the early 80's were the ones for Don't Bring Me Down and Last Train To London.

the Beatles are a very good band, they had at least 2 masterpiece albums to my opinion. everyone must have at least the Abby Road album (sg pepper is a must too and more).

ELO is a bit different to me (in a good way) , more sentimental and nostalgic, great band. Discovery 1979 is a great album, a must too in every music lover's shelf (i have 2 original ELO vinyls:)
