Problem with CoH multiplayer is that pros create new accounts just to pawn noobs, but i heard some pros will play with you and train you. people just like winning to much, they just spam units that will win, and not actually play the game to its fullest. For best results i recommend just playing with freinds. I never got the tales of valor expansion, but this is one old game i still enjoy from time to time.

there is a russian mod and a vietnam one would be dull seein as there isnt many factions.  as for fightin5 tanks, they can be easily destroyed as company heroes is a game where you cant win just by spammin tanks cus there are plenty of units to counter them such as infantry with sticky grenades or launchers. a handfull of servers? theres tones

While half of this review sounds like bitter rambling for losing too many games, it has certain important points, one being the nature of the expansion pack. I would literally never pay for this, but if you had to name a pricetag, 30$ is a screaming insult to any reasonable person. I think many companies are damn lucky that it's legal to sell with nothing but name or brand, having no guarantees of what the customer is going to actually get.

@AAAZ2A in total there are 9 missions, but they are spread out over 3 campaigns (tiger ace, causeway and falaise pocket). the campaigns dont really suck, but they aren't to fun either. causeway for example is more or less you steamrolling the germans, while tiger ace is you steamrolling the british. the online balance is still a problem, which it has been from the beginning. they could've done alot more on this game. on the bright side: you can kill germans like theres no tomorrow on causeway =D

Actually agree with alot of what he says. Balance in the game is nearly non-existent, the campaigns are way to short (except for falaise pocket, only there you defend the same map three times instead of attacking), and the community is not velcoming. While I can appreciate relic trying to try out a ranking system, its just not working since lvl1s players are unlikely to get a game at all. The few times I got a game I got kicked before the game started.

What they really should have done with Tales of valor is to release the Russians. It would be nice to have 2-3 friends playing against eachother with allies, axis and russians C&C Generals has 3 different teams so why does this game only have 2?

The pricetag for COH & COH OF is about 20€. The pricetag for Tales of valor is 35€ wich is very expensive compared to what you get in the other games. 10€ would be well enough and even then I dont think I would buy it.

@BounceDK2 The Company of Heroes Gold Edition was prices $3.74 on 25-01-2010 if I remember correctly. I was not into RTS back then and I regret not buying the old edition at that moment. From what I hear Tales of Valor is a huge fail but $ 7.99, during the steam weekend deal, sounds very reasonable. So, to make a long story short, buying the CoH Complete pack on 25-01-2010 would have cost you not more than $13 which is a VERY good price for the franchise. I hope the price will drop again! :D

When they make COH 2 for DX11, they should make the eastern front with the Russians. The three doctrines should be: Human Wave Doctrine (where you pay 100mp for 10 off-map men/women with pitch forks), Curtain of Steel Doctrine, and Stalin's Gulag (where you actually see mass execution of nazi soldiers when captured on the battle field and the German player has 10 sec to save his men)

there are but they're more easily countered than tanks. AT guns can easily be over run by troops, bomb runs divert resources from building tanks. Just from my experience.

THe reason its so expensive is due to the fact that it is a standalone expansion, as in you don't need to own the original COH to play :) And i to was in the same scenario in Multiplayer when i join'd, and that was before ToV was even announced. The way i fix'd that was overdose on Skirmish and just play with friends.
