  • His tone is absolutely gorgeous!

  • Yes, Gilels was among the greatest Beethoven interpreters. He is my favorite pianist.

  • fucking hell, more than a year and I've never noticed this video...

  • Gilels WAS Beethoven!

  • Un poeta, un narratore..grande Gilels!!!!

  • The first movement has just the right combination of lyricism and intensity, and the second sounds suitably rhythmic and march-like but there is also sensitivity where required. I have heard the second movement played faster but I know that Gilels tended to play more spaciously in his maturer years. The tone control is marvellous throughout. A splendid performance!

  • ..attaching to your true words about Gilels,i want to declare my hymn of praise about his rhythmical precision, not only in the sense of metronomic equability [2.mouvement] but also when he is going to modify the tempo more freely [1.mouvement],utterly organic and in logical sequence, very amazing listen to such mastership.

also the piano sound, extraordinary qualities of the great piano playing of Emil Gilels:contrary to horowitz his tone never splits, even in fortissimo.

    Gilels,the great!!!

  • @paulprocopolis @berlinzerberus Good comments! That's why Gilels is my favorite pianist.

  • Stupendo! Non si può suonare meglio!!

  • wow awesome!

  • Gorgeousness!

Emil Gilels is the best performer of Beethoven´s piano works.

    Thank you for sharing.
