Sanda was created in in 1940 for the chinese army because kung fu did not work against the American army when china teamed up with japan in the pearl harbor attack on America and after. I think San da has some great greco tossing, modified judp throws and some great spin kicks. But i think the sidekicks are the most used. Cung Le is a prime example of Sanda or Sanshou.
@clearcombat China and US were allies in World War Two. China did not team up with Japan in the Pearl Harbor attack. and martial arts were not used in that battle. The commander of all Chinese forces in World War II was General Stillwell, and American, who lead Chinese against Japan in China and Burma.
@hotpopcorncake cung le was trained in America, not Vietnam. i read tons of history but it would take about a ten second search on google to get very brief overview of world war two which would show that US and China were on the same side and that the sino-Japanese war started years before pearl harbor.
@brooklynmonk1 no i was talking to clearcombat ,i know cung le is Vietnamese/American but he did some vovinam mix up with other styles. i just heard Clearcombat say in china they use sanda against the American and that can't be right ..the Japanese first attacked china..
I studied Yaw-Yan in Cebu for five years. Let me tell you guys something. It was the most physically gruelling activity I've ever entered in my life. I was kicking a post covered with 4x4 wood and wrapped in tarp. I was forced to do the after a week in the gym. We only had one heavy bag so everyone was force to practice on the post. the jiujitsu was unique to UFC techniques. Everything was designed to make your arms and legs used to pain.
true man! i can honestly say the yaw yan guys were some of the best trained fighters i have ever met. i mean both in the wide variety of skills they learn and in their physical conditioning. plus many of them fight more than once a month.
thanks for asking for our location. HYBRID YAW-YAN MIXED MARTIAL ARTS TRAINING CENTER: 5th floor Karen Building # 9 Annapolis corner Montreal Sts., Cubao, Quezon City, Philippines. You can download the location map of our gym at our Facebook Account, just type hybridyawyan teamkobayashi
if yuo want to believe that the Wu Su schools in china, taiwan, and elsewhere are also doing sand da, go ahead, but yuo are completely wrong. which schools did you train in in china, taiwan and elsewhere? the reality is, only a very small percentage of the wu su schools do any san da. they concentrate on tau lu also called biao yuen. i didnt realize we needed to speak chinese here. i am nearly fluent. how well do you speak chinese?
if by research you mean, go study at the shaolin temple plus three years of studying in taiwan, then i have completed my research. wu su is taught completely seperately. 90% or more of the total kung fu schools in china teach wu su demonstration type kung fu. most of those people will never learn san da or san schau. in shaolin temple, san da or san schau makes up less than 5% of the total student population or training.
Muay Thai has more effective Kicks than Yaw Yan, Yaw Yan is mor ewuicker but there's no impact on it, very bad move of you fight in the streets or in MMA
@brooklynmonk1 Watching your videos and I can tell that Asia is picking up mma very quickly and they may even become dominant in martial arts again! Not to take away from the foreigners who reminded people you need to know how to fight in all phases.
P.S Bruce lee also contributed with his philosophy of Jeet kune do.
es the yaw yan guys are great, but honestly the philippines is the only country in southeast asia where you will find asian mma teachers, teaching mma to asian students who go and fight. in the rest of southeast asia most MMA programs were founded by or run by foreigners.
is this like a cheap version of fight quest or something

through wikipedia:
Competitive wushu is composed of two disciplines: taolu (套路; forms) and sanda (散打; sparring)[4]

Snake, have you ever fought a yaw yan fighter before? Do you know they have been winning a lot of MMA bouts in the Philippines?
Badsinger96826 2 years ago
hahahaha i just laugh at you people who underestimate yaw yan....
you underestimate because you've never fought one before....
well before you talk more shit...try actually fighting one and then say what you want....but until then, SHUT your incompetent ASS up.
its not the fighting style that determines the fight, its the fighter.... styles are just ways to get the victory

Nice video. I think only kali and Escrima are in Germany. Yaw Yan is not so famous so I think it wont reach Europe as of this time.

you wrap lleather cord around a regular heavy bag and cover it with rubber cement. let it dry and do it over and over again.
