  • I take my betta out too. He hates it lol

  • Why do you take the fish out of the Tank? If you do a 20% water change each week you wont need to, any more than that can damage the bacteria levels in the tank causing nitrates to rise.

  • @THErReZo I don't remember why she was out of the tank as it was a long time ago. I agree with you regarding the water changes. In my filtered tanks I only do a partial water change but I do a complete change in my smaller, unfiltered Betta tanks.

  • @THErReZo depending on the tank size 20% isnt enough each week also depending on the number of fish

  • @THErReZo it looks like the people wouldnt even have a heater or filter they probably keep it in the cruel vase or teeny bowl way :CCC hopefully they have goten a tank at least 30 - 40 litres and got a heater at 24-27 degrees and o water changes

  • @THErReZo i do this to all 22 of my bettas, all are very healthy and very bright. i have them in smaller jars so i have to clean "all" the water

  • shes pretty :o

  • So pretty, I thought it was a guy haha :D

  • i have a question would any water conditioner work with betta fish because i have one called aquasafe and it says works with all fresh adn salt water fish but someone told me to get one at a store specifically for bettas so i don't know plz help me i don't wanna waste money

  • @pkedjustin

Aquasafe is perfectly fine to use with a Betta. :)

  • LOL ALL female Betta's get so weird when its time to change the water. . .their like "WTF WTF WTF HAPPENED TO MY WORLD?!" lol dart-dart-dart

  • @pkedjustin

Dont use this store crap. Try to get the fruit of the alder tree (spell?) or is it called alder buckthorn? Use 3 in 100 litre water. That will help you reduce fungi and bacterias...

  • can some1 show me my way back 2 kansas?

  • i guess i don't have to tell you, that its a boy :)

  • @colin1Lplz It's a female,colin. Oviposter and all. :)

  • @Pandoranyx Males can sometimes have fake oviposters, just FYI :)

  • Hey I made some vids on my new betta fish! come check them out!

  • @mypetfishy Will do, thanks! :)

  • no thats a female

  • kiss ekhtak bi errriiii water change!!!!!

  • You will need a tester for pH, which tests the alkalinity/acid of the water. You should get yourself a test kit anyhow as it's an important part of keeping fish. I suggest the AP Master Test Kit.

I tried to post a link on water changes, but it won't let me post it. If you'll google aquarium water changes you'll find some info on how to do them correctly.

What size is your tank and what do you have in it?

  • @Pandoranyx pH test its to test for pH, not alkalinity nor acid, for those there are other tests.

  • Yes, I know. I was trying to explain it very simply & that seemed to be the best way.

Feel free to offer help to the poster.

  • @Pandoranyx Its Been 3 Months since he posted for help, so its useless now.

  • I was wondering if you realized how old this thread is.

Someone else may read it and enjoy your explanation though.

  • @Pandoranyx You Want an Explenation? Alright. Yes, the water will be fine, the pH doesn't have to be Exactly Like The Aquarium's one, and since its bootled water, i assume its alredy conditioned.

You Don't Exactly Need Test kits for Freshwater, but now Saltwater, thats another story, since they are 10 times for sensitive.

  • I don't really need an explanation. In my experience bottled water has a much lower pH than the tap water I've used.

I don't keep saltwater and don't know anything about them.

  • @rluix Moron.. PH is a measure to test the alkalinity and acidity of the water.. Go learn something before you post dribble.. Fuktard

  • @phr0 Wow, what are you? 12? nice way to respond, and i admit i was wrong, have a nice day.

  • Does anybody know if it's safe to put arrowhead mountain spring water in my betta tank without conditioner? My tank is dirty and i ran out of conditioner.

  • Do you know the pH of the spring water and the pH of your tank water?

  • I don't know what pH is, I'm new to taking care of fish so i don't know.

  • nice choice of words

  • Thank you.

  • Tell her that.

  • Really? Then how do you suggest I do a 100% water change on a Betta tank? I guess I should leave the Betta in there. That's genius.

  • yur not suppose to take fish out of the tank when doing a water change ... dumb ass

  • uhh its a fish

  • LMBO

  • looks like a male otherwise thats a sexy female and i will buy it for 2 billion dollars

  • looks like a male mostly

  • Thats a male!

  • Wow, that female has very gorgeous vibrant colours that it sort of looks like a young male from the top. =]

  • No, it's a male.

  • its amale not female

  • yea males have longer fins

  • this is a male plakat or pk or hmpk

  • i konw +_+

  • that looks like a male betta to me. Female bettas are gray in color although some can be colorful they do not sport the finnage a male(yours) has.

  • Trust me, it's a female...oviposter & all.

  • if you say so. I can't see the side anyway so youre probably right.

  • I only uncovered it to take the video. No worries.

  • She doesn't have popeye, which is not always fatal, btw. The pHs are matched when I do a water change.

  • ice betta all bettas have theyre eyes like pop out even my nbettas do and no they aint sick on e of my males is yellow with red teh other white with baby blu and the female yellow with red taiol

  • Thats one lively, healthy, female b. splenden. Do ya breed them?

I used to breed them years ago, and was a member of IBC, even wont a few shows/groups as well. Love these fish ;)

    -=Neo=-

  • Hi Neo,

I adopted her along with a pineapple CT male and an ADF from someone who was moving cross country and couldn't take them.

I love them too, but have no breeding plans. It sounds like you were quite successful with them! :)

    Dee

  • She has an oviposter.

  • thats not a female

  • Yes...that is a female.

  • Uh.... no its not. Females are smaller and less vibrant plus they have much shorter fins..

  • I breed them ... I should know. You should take a look at professional stock more often, especially through the IBC. Well bred females are much more vibrant, longer fins and sometimes hard to distinguish from males.

    Nooooooob

BTW! I LOVE your New Caledonians! They're always so damn cute.

  • lol you "should" know, but that doesn't mean you do. but I do also know that you are right.

  • yea
