@cuewizchris thank-you very much for the kind words - they're very much appreciated. re: the remix itself, it's taken on a wonderful life beyond the original e.p., but i've sometimes wondered why no-one else ever asked me to do another one! re: *the new work* - that's actually being written now (under 4 separate pseudonyms) after a 5 year gestation period (ouch...), but i might not be linking it to FD - i.e. it may just appear but without me acknowledging that it's my work. we'll see, we'll see.

(blushing!) here's a thing that i've never shared online: for me, the remix reminds me of being ill. the last time in my adult life i took to my bed was late 2005 when i was making this and ended up with terrible winter vomiting virus halfway through. the more love it gets though, the less this association haunts me. actually, 4 years on, it hardly feels as if it was something i made...more that it just *is*. okay, i'm rambling, aren't i?...xxx

the simple answer is 'no'. i'm pretty much ambivalent about what the FortDax project achieved anyway, but as with a lot of producers, i guess what you hear in your own work is the architecture and the flaws. it's great that *other* people like it, don't get me wrong, but for me it'll always be something else...xxx

@hairyhoff - feeling love! i don't get a cut as the model for rights/payments back then was that remixer gets a flat fee, but subsequent sales/broadcast revenue goes to the orig artist. not an issue at all, i knew this and was happy w/ it when i agreed to do it. problems can arise tho when a track becomes far more successful on the back of it being used in tv or film (and the remixer has no say about this or any revenue from it - i.e. what's morally 'the right thing to do' vs. the cold contract)

@hairyhoff - everything's okay now, and i always think it sounds like 'sour grapes', but it was definitely a *learning experience*. i'm really pleased the track was used for a great show, but it's just a queasy feeling that even though it's very much 'my' work, each time it's played or d'loaded from iTunes etc, someone else gets paid... ;0)

anyway, i bought royksopp's "junior" album and was pretty pissed to hear that the best track of the CD is totally copied on your piece. it's "royksopp forever", which i really like, but i feel "frustrated for you" as it seems to have more success than your track...

of course i'm not you, and you might not be frustrated (umh, dk if that's english) so i just hope you're glad you inspired famous electronic artists :)

well...to give you some history, there was another video up here for a long time, which Holden eventually got taken down, possibly because he thought i was the person who posted it (that's just a guess). as it stands, despite it being 95% my work, i don't own any of the rights, so even though i'm perfectly happy to see it (along with 12,000 other viewers), i'm not the person who'll get the final say. that might not be fair, but it's legal...xxx
