  • good video.

  • can you run more than one effect at once?

  • Hey man,

I enjoy your playing. This pedal seems like it has a lot of potential. I had a DM4, but I sold it and bought an electro harmonix deluxe memory man. For delay you really only need one choice model. The mm4 thing seems like it can cover all the great modulation sounds, be it flanger, chorus, or rotary, I'm sold.

  • can you use more than one effect at the time in this pedal???

  • Friday im in love!

  • dont buy for live situations but other than that great.

  • @sixstring1975 why?

  • what is the opening song for this video?!

    Thank you :)

  • WOW! That univibe sound is pretty darn good!

  • how do you like the vibes and rotaries on the pedal?

  • Hi! Is it possible to use 2 preset at the same time??

  • @DeadStar2ooo no it is not possible to use 2 presets at the same time.

  • @MrPaulmotocross thats a major turn-off now, do you own one of these?

  • @THEGUYD0WNTHESTREET ya when i got it i was kinda disapointed but its still a good pedal if you like all the modulation. i took it off of my board tho because i got it mostly for the tremelo and chorus and it just takes up so much room for only usin 2 or 3 effects.... and excuse my spelling im tired :P

  • @blondegraemey thank u so much it's awesome!!!!

  • Line 6 MM4 or Eventide ModFactor.... comments? Which one's better and why?

  • How do u use a volume pedal for an expression pedal? plez respond?

  • @MrEvilQuaker Plug the output of the vol pedal into the exp pedal socket. It works great! G

  • great review mate, very helpful, only issue now is i own the dl4, dm4 and mm4.. gonna take me many late nights to figure them out :)

  • Maybe this is a stupid question but i would like to know if this efects (all of them) are included in the nex POD HD500. Thanks

  • How do u use a volume pedal as an expression pedal on the line6 fm4 some want to help me out?

  • whats your view on this pedal mate? how does it rate to the legendary effects its based on, i know it will not be as good but does it come close? sounds good to me if im honest. Jake

  • I love this pedal and use it on my pedal board.

It does sound somewhat different to the classic boxes it models but it also sound excellent in it's own way. G

  • @blondegraemey if you use it then it must be good with all the pedals youve demo's over the years mate ha the only problem i have with all line 6 modduler pedals is the volume drop, was it a big/exspensive job to fix? i got rid of my DL4 for this reason last year. Jake

  • Hi, I did the mod myself and it is quite tricky. I had to remove some tiny surface mounted components and replace with different values. G

  • @blondegraemey hey mate just got one for £100 with the volume mod (only getting one if it had that done) have you ever got any settings for a sitar sound? Jake

  • can't understand how pedals like this are from the same firm that produce shit like the pocket pod or their amps.

  • No reverb / delay?

  • @Noodles37UK The DL4 does delay, reverb and delay aren't modulation effects

  • @thebeastwithoutpants I know. These things are selling for about £250 in the UK. Both boxes will cost £500. A lot of cash, but that DL4 is amazing.

  • All we need is a good axe, a good amp and a cable... That's it!

  • Let's be really mean to the reviewer. What a jerk he is for trying to help us hear some of the sounds this thing can make. We should certainly critique his playing based on the noodling seen in the video.

  • hey i heard theres a pretty big volume drop with these pedals, can you confirm this?

and can you play more then one preset at a time?

  • There is a slight volume drop with this pedal but I modified mine to get rid of it. G

  • @blondegraemey how did you do that mate??

  • 3:25 does anyone else hear weeohhhh weeohhh from kung pow?

  • I like the song in the intro.

  • Kirk Hammett uses that what is his setup?

  • Comment removed

  • @96lolstar on stage he has a line 6 mm4, a line 6 dl4, a digitech whammy and the controller of the dunlop rack wah

    /watch?v=1jwkdGktP54

  • Kirk Hammett uses that what is his setup?

  • Yeah. Either the pedal sucks, or the guy giving the demo sucks, because all I hear is the same chorus sound on every different speed.

  • Whats the chords for the riff at 2:16? sounds really familiar.

  • I really like it, but i was hoping to hear some of the effects in higher frets.

Could you maybe do a second part to this video with some higher sounds? Really Appreciate it :D

  • Are all the line 6 modeler pedals true bypass?

As always, nice work on your demos!

  • The are buffered bypass. G

  • This demo makes this device look completely useless, I didn't hear any usable sounds at all...

  • @greasegat Then you have the chance to buy one, test it and show us how to use it and get usable sounds.

  • @greasegat

After watching some of your clips, I can see why you would say this.

This is a very good pedal. The number of pro musicians using these for their gigging setups attests to that.

  • @greasegat Thats cuz you dont have a shred of originality in you at all. Have fun playing covers

  • sounds good, whats' it like after a tube distortion with lots of gain on? like the blackstar ht dist for example

  • Nice color but seems cheesy and not very useful unless your playing to a crowd of trippin daisys. Actually I really like the Trippin Daisys. If you dont understand that, you were probally there man.

  • great review can you do a review of your mxr 6 band

  • can you only use ONE effect at a Time ?

  • yes.

  • @blondegraemey I'll stick with my individual BOSS Pedals Thanks ,,,Thats no uses AT ALL if only one effect can be used at a time ?,,,

  • These sounds majorly remind me of Inme's overgrown eden album which was full of some quite extreme modulations, dunno if Dave used/uses an MM4?

  • Thanks 4 the vid. I had this for about a year never really used much but this will help!

  • just sounds beautiful :) :)

  • to connect it to an adapter it's 9V?

  • yes but you will need on that handles 1500mA

  • 1:38 unlike so many other reviewers who keeping talking. thnx =D

  • does it have a looper?

  • please what is the song a 0:01

    thanks

  • It's my old band from the 90's. The whole track can be hear on the video I posted of pics of my pedal collection. Check my other videos to find it. G

  • is this pedal reliable, i jst read the harmony central reviews and fuck!! they talk shit about this pedal, and im afraid, imabout to buy it, beacuse it seem the perefect solution to get rid of some epdals, but it seems its not reliable....any help¿?

  • google ads suck cock

  • volume drop at all when engaged?

  • Not now. I have modified the pedal to get rid of the vol drop problem. G

  • @blondegraemey Is this pedal sturdy? Ive had some bad experiences with line6's footswitches

  • It's ok but replacing the momentary foot switches can be a good idea. G

  • @blondegraemey t Thanks.

  • @blondegraemey So this was modded by Robert Keeley? sounds great, i used to have one and sold it because of the volume and quality of the effects but yours sounds superb!!

  • I modded it myself. I just fixed the vol drop problem, the sounds are stock. G

  • @blondegraemey how did you mod it?? website/step by step or do you just know pedal wiring and circuits?

  • I found the info online. It's a very tricky mod to perform. G

  • can you put 2 fx in 1 memory bank? cause i read a little lower and u cant use 2 at a time!!that sucks

  • Nope, one only! G

  • he looks like Linde the main guitarist of H.I.M

  • i dont like the pedal tones very much,i like the other line 6 pedals though :D

  • thanks for the video. i love your accent. when you say socket it sounds like suck it lol

  • So, the pre-set storage function; does it store your settings (meaning the levels of depth, speed, mix etc) or does it just store the effect you want to jump to? Because that'd be pretty pointless if it didn't do that.

  • the vibe doesn't sound like a vibe :S

  • Hey man,

I have a question. I have a JCM2000 and I like to play shred. I want to use the MM4's chorus to blend it with my lead channel on my JCM2000 to get more colour on the tone like Steve Vai does. Do you think that the MM4 is capable of doing this job? I'm asking this because I never had a digital device like this.. Only analoges. I hope you can help me out. And if it's possible, can you please recommend a chorusmodel on the MM4 for my purpose?

  • what's the song playing at the introduction?

  • It's my old band, the whole track is uploaded along with photos of my pedals. Search my other videos. G

  • No. Its one effect at a time with this one. G

  • haha hella trying to be like Omar Lopez from Mars Volta..but it would be sick though

  • What color is your Strat? :)

  • @jcshirke pretty sure his strat is olympic white

  • i wanted to get one but it has bad reviews

i think im just gonna get individual modulation pedals over this.ive read the reviews at harmony central and it sucked

  • @aceman42 for standard modulation stuffs I'd say go with others, yeah. But Ross Childress uses these to good effect on collective soul albums to create cool warbly stuff that adds layers to their songs that cant be done much any other way... depends on what your shooting for. realized here in my old age that 'interesting' sometimes makse for great tunes too

  • Good idea, personally I only rate the dl4 and fm4, this one is good at what it does but I find through a decent amp it sounds week, you can just about get away with the other 2

  • I owned one of these few years back, and is was rather noisy at times, however the guy i sold it to still has it and all i need to buy is a power supply and hell give me it back, bargain. sure stand alone pedals are always going to give you better results, but given you can get these for £60 on ebay im sure youll be spending much more on individual effects. Very good at what it goes, as for sounding weak through good amps, i guess frusciante has lame amps then lol.

  • In fairness I was mistaking this for the amp modeling equivalence so my comment was unjust. As I said I rate the other 2.

Yes I can appreciate you will spend more on the individual effects, but they sound better so what do you expect. John has a sweet rig his moog pedals are awesome I have never seen him with this pedal just the fm7 not this version so thanks for the info. As for getting the pedal back hope it re lights the old fire

  • So do i mate, im sure it will as currently i use ZERO modulation effects apart from a uni vibe which is on my boss v wah (another hotly debated piece of gear), and until recently the detune function on my whammy pedal. So im sure itll relight the fire :) as for the lord frusciante lol, ive noticed these moog things he seems to have several, what on earth do they do? ive seen a few pedal boards sporting these.

  • Excellent demonstration of the key sounds. Thanks!

I like the Leslie emulation but it sounds louder and slightly clipped compared to the rest of the sounds. Also I notice you have effect level full on. Presumably some effects would sound richer with this at 50%?

  • Your right.

The leslie has a drive control that I may have had too high.

Actually, I've just modded this pedal to get rid of the slight vol drop problem that they have. Now there is now a slight boost when I turn an effect on, much better! It's a VERY difficult job to do though, but worth it. G

  • Thanks for replying. Good to know about the drive setting on the leslie

I'd probably use the mix at maybe 10 or 12 o'clock so the drop in level might not be as critical. Your review has made me keen to try it.

I also really liked your Line 6 distortion modeller review. Great idea to compare with original devices. What came across to me was how great the original Fuzz Face sounds!

    Pete

  • what chords are you playing the very first time?

  • Thanks for a great demo and good playing! I appreciated how thorough you were with each effect in the pedal. sounds extremely versatile and practical on my pedalboard

  • The only problem of this pedal is it need time and patience to tweak and find the sound u like.

An awesome and useful pedal for modulation freaks, and thumbs up for the good demo too btw.

  • Great demo and a pretty impressive pedal!

    Thanks a lot!

  • Hi great demo!!! what amp are you you going into? thanks

  • A small Vox 10 watt practice amp.

  • i really appreciate this demo! thanks so much!!

  • How does this compare to the TC Electronic Nova Modulator? I have heard that the MM4 suffers from some tone suck as well as varying volume level issues between differnet models. Cheers. James

  • No tone sucking but some slight vol drop on certain sounds. G

  • which sounds are those?

  • Keeley Effects offers a modification that solves the volume drop problem and adds clarity and bass response. I'm sending my MM4 in to them soon.

  • Curious if the unit can have more than one effect active at a time. Thx....

  • No, just one at a time!

  • Check out the line 6 m13, you could program it to have to mod effects at once.

  • I always see those ibanez TS808 series pedals sitting up there u should hook them all up bro :D

  • I love your guitar's sound... now I want a strat...

  • With the Expression pedal, is it possible to achieve whammy-like sounds?

  • No, the MM4 does not do pitch shifting. G

  • r u using the Line 6 Expression Pedal that was made for these Modelers?

  • No, just a vol pedal. G

  • Do you know wat that Expression pedal for the Line 6 Modelers does cause i want to get it?

  • It adjusts whatever parameters you program it to. G

  • o ok thnx :)

  • Nova Modulator from TC Electronic kicks this things sorry ass. Not gonna lie, it's a much better sounding box for the same price. It might be lacking some of the more extreme features, but for all your basic mod effects, it's flawless.

  • with the tremolo, can you adjust the shape of the wave as well as the rise and fall of the wave? thanks

  • Yes you can adjust the wave shape. G

  • can you control the speed of tremolo with a expression pedal?

  • You can control any and all of the parameters with an exp pedal. G

  • Yeah you're right. I am from South America.

  • what?

  • I noticed that you are running mono in and stereo out between two amps. When the pedal is in bypass, no effect, does it still have output to both amps? Thanks

  • Yes.

  • Would you use this pedal in the effects loop or in front of the amp?

  • Either. I go into the front. G

  • Hmm.. I think I just got convinced not to buy it!

  • When you store the settings and you put them back on how does it know the speed and stuff

  • Because it's a digital pedal, it just stores the parameters and recalls them when selected. G

  • Which controller pedal are you using to speed up and slow down the effects?

  • It's just a Protel volume pedal. G

  • nice, i'm debating on this or a fulltone mini deja vibe 2- i might go with the fulltone just because its true bypass and has that expression pedal built-in ( i know this has more effects though)

    Great demo sir-

  • how do you store settings with this pedal?

  • Dial in a sound then hold down the footswitch for 3 seconds. G

  • do you need two amps to run it in stereo?

  • Yes, unless you're recording, then you just record to two channels. G

  • thanks! i have this one can you tell me good settings for unvibe the sound? please im really needing it. Thank You!

  • Put the tweak and tweez in the middle, the mix up full then experiment with the speed and depth. G

  • Thanks for the settings. You['re not going to believe this: 4 guys with guns came in to my house and stoled everything including my Fender Strat and my pedals, I have nothing right now. It was horrible. Goodbye Line 6 MM4. Thank God im alive. Sorry for my english :)

  • I know this feeling man...it really is horrible. 8 years ago some idiots rob everhing that was in the house including my old rehearsing tapes from 30 some years ago. AMps, guitars and all that...fine, but those tapes? Horrible. Feel sorry for you man!

  • Thank you!. I was in the house when it happened. Im only 14 but i have alot of effects for my age, It`s a shame

  • That sucks. Even if I was needing the money I would steal computer stuff. I would never steal guitar equipment as that is where people's souls are.

  • @VDGG94ki

you are soul full man.. *respect*

  • @rhcpmd Thats terrible I feel compelled to find you and help you along, but I dont even have an mm4 or a strat. I got a Dean z79 and a shitty amp with built in effects thats more trouble than its worth. I hope those guys break in, take my amp and leave me ur amp and ur mm4.

  • @rhcpmd that sucks hard. I hope the people that stole ALL of your guitar gear will payback by karma.

  • how's the reliability of this thing?...have heard many horror stories about it...

  • Almost 10 years with no problems for this one. G

  • what does tweez mean?

  • Tweek and Tweez control different parameters, depending on which effect is selected. G

  • Whered you get your shirt?

  • Outta my wardrobe dude! Rock-on!! G

  • This line 6 pedals (i´d say specialy this one) grow everytime you tweak them, you´ll need to spend some serious time to find the right setting to every effect. This is a good demo but there is much more inside this MM4.

  • thanks for doing this, man. i'd been wondering how this thing sounded for a while and there weren't any really good videos on youtube. good job on that dm4 one too, btw!

  • Yeah, the phaser sounds like it's with a wah, wich I hate, but in my opinion the Chorus is pretty much what I'm looking for...The Tremolo's choppy, almost-killlswitch/ping-pong sound is pretty nice...

Flanger is very cool, but kind like the phaser, a little bit too cartoonic in some settings...The vibe is OK, kinda like an auto wah, but it's k...nice rotary...I like it and highly recomend it if you're like me and drown yourself in Buckethead's modulated riffs...Very cool pedal...

  • Good review of this product, however the sound is not so good in my opinion specially the chorus and the phaser. They can't be compared with the CE-2 and the Phase 90.

  • Great demo! Just to add ... the nine volt power is NOT compatible with the Boss power supply but the larger Line 6 power supply.

My only frustration with this unit was the inability of this (and any of my Line 6 effects - Mod Pro and POD XT LIve) to give a nice buttery Univibe emulation.

  • finally!!! a nice demo for this pedal. Thank you!

  • There is no slicer on this pedal. But you can come close on your adjustments. Great video blondegraemey! Line six should give you a commision!

  • Im thinkin of buying one how is this unit soundwise compared to the originals

  • Pretty good but not quite as extreme as some of the analog oldies. G

  • wow awsome, is there any slicer in that product?

  • Hi, what do you mean by 'slicer' ??

  • i think, this is kind of flanger + tremolo, there is in boss gt product, but the sound like triplet feel,

  • The "peak follower" effect for the tremolo would be an excellent way to play Radiohead's Bones without having to kneel down constantly.

  • great job-love the riff you played for the tremolo

  • YES!!!At last someone put a proper demo of this great unit on yt, Thank's a lot man, btw - this demo is very helpful!

  • wow cool stuff i still really want the dl4

  • How much it cost?
