  • Ah yes, this is simply perfect. Most certainly will do kind sir.

  • I grew up disliking the sound of crickets, especially during late August. We all knew this sound meant summer was ending. Not as I'm aging, I love this sound for different reasons, more for nostalgia and yearning to go back to both summertime and freedom as a child. It's so serene and warms the soul. I hear this sound most strongly in rural Baltimore, but they're not as loud and populated where I normally am in suburban NY.

  • @adpny yeah i am also in suburb of NY too.they come out in mid july and i love it.i noticed it seems like there r different types of cricket sounds.what i really love r the spring peepers too bad they r only out for a month or so in the spring in a pond at my church.

  • Dont be sorry I was on here searching for sounds similar to what I hear because when I stop the video for a brief moment I think the noise stops, I am told if you play somthing at a similar sound for hours it can trick your brain for short periods that the sounds gone, I used to love hearing crickets before I had this permantley

  • somone commented they wish they heard this all summer? hmmmm as a tinnitus sufferer for 20yrs id like this noise to stop I now found out this is menieres disease, so cricket sounds, a low hum and bouts of vertigo what a joy lol,

  • @Flutterbyzz147 im sorry about that.

  • You've captured it perfectly--the sound I always hear at the lake at the beginning of August. I call it Jingle Bells. Always a Bittersweet chorus because I know what's ahead--and I'd just as soon have it be summer forever... Great job!

  • @mieleD thank you.yes i love hearing them.they come in mid summer and last to the middle of fall.i will sure miss summer when it done in a few weeks:( i even hear crickets in the morning and during the daytime too.

  • What part of the country is this, I'm guessing somwhere in the South East. It reminds me of summer evenings in North Carolina. Thank You for this!

    Best Regards

  • @nhra76 this is in the northeast.your welcome im glad you enjoyed it.i love hearing them wish they would sing all summer long.

  • Thank you for making this video, I am using it in my Y2 class tomorrow when teaching them about insects at night time :)

  • @samantha1989rigby wow thank you.im honored.im glad you are going to use this video in your class.are you a teacher?

  • @RavishingRedheadd Yes I am a trainee teacher on my final placement, we are learning about night time and I thought this was a really good video for them to see so they could hear all the noises from the nocturnal insects. They really enjoyed it!! Thank you

  • @samantha1989rigby wow im so glad they enjoyed it! crickets and these insects come out in july and end in october.i really look forward to hearing them.do you have crickets in the Uk?

  • You know, I did a cricket sound for half an hour from Spain, something to remember and to relax with and the love of the sound. My family thought i was crackers, but I am glad there is someone else on my wave length. Yes this could be me recording this. Thanks, I have found someone else akin..

  • @mpoth49 wow yeah i love the hear the crickets too.seems like some are different then others or different insects what do you think? yeah i made this video on a very hot night after a walk.you made a video when you were in spain for a half hour of crickets? cool.

  • @RavishingRedheadd Yes you are dead on. When you listen to other areas of the country, they actually are different. Longer second half vibes and sometimes rising. Sitting on balcony at 2 a.m., full moon bright , hot air surrounding you, all peace except crickets, what an escape. Even when going to bed and having them lull you to sleep is wonderful.

  • @mpoth49 yeah in fact i have an alarm clock radio plays nature sounds crickets and stuff i love it.i listen to it everytime i sleep.i use it to block out other sounds too.yeah the crickets come in mid july but mostly august wish id hear them all summer long! the latest i heard them was in early november cuz we had a mild night that was cool.i also hear them during the day in the summer.love it.some people hate the sound.i love listening to them!i even have other nature videos too of birds enjoy

  • @mpoth49 i totally agree i emigrated out to australia 6 years ago i now have to go back to uk so thought this might make me think of my real home

  • @saint2perth Now that is a shame, after all that time. Trouble is sometimes you can't stop change. Hope all goes well.

  • I see fire flies :3

  • makes me miss summer, and its only October

  • @gregrocks66 yeah i miss summer already too.i don't like the fall or winter.they are too long up here and depressing

  • @RavishingRedheadd i dont either, i like the holidays that come in the fall and winter, but yeah, Jan Feb and March are the 3 most depressing months of the year

  • @gregrocks66 yes you are right.i just like some snow for christmas then it can all go away lol then summer can come back lol what a dream.those 3 months r super depressing.now that we have the clocks ahead in early march it helps alot.i know we are almost out of the woods.then april comes, but those 3 months are soooo long it seems!

  • @RavishingRedheadd lol, i agree with the snow, after christmas, go away, lol i wish december would take longer, cuz i love all the christmas decorations, Jan and Feb are longest months, March is a long start, April and May are cool, I love April weather, May is my bday month, June is finaly hot, July is also hot, and a month full of fireworks, then the rest is just august and sept are ok, then its a repeat lol

  • @gregrocks66 well my birthday is the best time of the year in june.love it when the days are longer and the weather is nearly perfect!i love to decorate for christmas.in fact i have alot of videos up you might want to check out from last years and stuff of my tree and decorations.i will sure miss the sounds of the crickets.they start here in mid july early august.i don't hear anything in may and june for some reason lol.
