Please feel free to spread this all over the place, and post your own videos encouraging allies to get involved with the fight--especially ENDA which is heating up right now. Its legal in 30 states to be fired for being lesbian, gay or bisexual. Its legal in 38 states to fire someone for being transgender. Both houses are about to tackle ENDA now. Please get everyone to contact Congress to support ENDA TODAY!

Don't hold your breath. Straight progressives - on the whole - just don't give LGBT issues that much thought or take them that seriously. Example:  a progressive talk radio show the other day did not even mention Maine when they were talking about the elections in the hour I heard. Good for you for calling them on it. I saw that same vibe too, from some writer on a progressive site called 'truthout', and he said there was nothing really important being voted for in the country, so not to get upset about a few gov. races where 1 gov. sealed his firing for poor performance anyhow. And had to be corrected about the VERY important close vote for LGBT marriage in Maine!

Becuase I tried to go to the link on my laptop and got blocked by the military's filter system. If any of you have checked out the link, the content is great and PG. But oh no we can't talk about LGBT issues here, or even privately visit a web site at our home on base. I know how the Iranian progressives feel.

I am a female officer in the Army and my boyfriend is too. I cannot use my uniform to endorse any political leaning, and I don't intend to. My boyfriend and I both agree that what happened in Maine and California is abhorrent and embarrassing. Moderates and progressives need to get to the poles and fight as hard as the LGBT community, otherwise the "nonprogressives" will win out. Civil Rights is more important than high taxes or even WAR... aren't we fighting for FREEDOM in the end?? I
