Before I wrote the song "Imaginary" I wrote Self Control which was recorded by Laura Branigan. The two songs have something in common, besides me..."Where the raindrops as they're falling tell a story" - Imaginary..."Before the morning comes, A story's told" - Self Control. Self Control inspired me to also write Lose Control performed by Evanesence.

A few years ago two parents went out for dinner. A few hours later, the babysitter was calling to see if she could cover up the clown statue in the kids' room, the father said "Get the kids and get out of the house, we'll call the police we don't have a clown statue". The "clown statue" was actually a killer that escaped from jail. If you don't post this on 10 videos tonight the clown will be in your bed at 3:00am with a chainsaw in his hand. Sorry don't want this to happen to me
Very creepy song, as is the symbolism. It's basically about a dark obsession with someone, hence the use of Mary and her little lamb. She's singing about the darker side of the story, and how it relates to how she (or someone else she knows) has lost control and spiralled downwards into a horrible obsession.
@ObsequiousPictures Actually, in an interview, Amy speculated that it was the sexiest song the band's ever done. It discusses a religious belief that one should not have sex until marriage, but in the song she's saying she wants to play around and lose this religious control that prevents her from having what she wants with her "lamb". I'm not sure if the song is just a story, or if it's what Amy actually felt at the time, but that's what was said.

this reminds me of "Haunted" too. God...I love this. Her voice is so...dark and amazing. ^^ This song is one of my favroites by Evanescence and Amy Lee. I can't wait until her next Album too!
