I really like this film/TV-series although I'm not Christian or a believer at all. I just find interesting about this extraordinary mans life, and Robert Powells portrayal of Jesus is astonishing! I don't know what it is really, if it is his eyes that is somewhat staring into your soul... or something else. It may be though because I watched this the very first time as a little kid. I didn't really like The Passion of the Christ with Jim Gaviezel. The music in this is a pure joy to listen too!

I really like this film/TV-series although I'm not Christian or a believer at all. I just find interesting about this extraordinary mans life, and Robert Powells portrayal of Jesus is astonishing! I don't know what it is really, if it is his eyes that is somewhat staring into your soul... or something else. It may be though because I watched this the very first time as a little kid. I didn't really like The Passion of the Christ with Jim Gaviezel. The music in this is a pure joy to listen too!

first off, besides being the Son of God, Jesus had to be an extraordinary person...funny and impressionable enough to draw thousands of people to Him...Special enough to hang with foul mouthed fishermen and tax collectors and adulteresses...He made common folk want to be with Him, He didnt turn them away because of who they were. Just like the god-given-speech people who wrote the bible, a book that whoever reads it feels true love in his heart, it may seem that Franco Zeffirelli had a god-given-direction to make this fantastic film. The cast is great, the music is divine and Robert Powell has made an appearance so memorable, it seems like he has the face people bring in their minds when they're thinking about God. Personally i doubt i have ever seen such an actor that fits a role so perfectly like Powel-Jesus.
