Hey, believe it or not I've heard that this particular scene in the game when Venom meets Sandman in the park was actually a deleted scene from Spider - Man 3 the movie, This was confirmed by Peter David although, Sam Raimi decided to cut a lot out.

Sandman takes the form of a rather large sandcastle in a park, just as his ex-wife and daughter come by. Penny plays with the sandcastle briefly. When Penny and her mother arent looking for a moment, the sandcastle disappears. Venom talks to Sandman from the shadows, beneath a tree. He brings up Sandmans family as conversation, not as a threat, but as a way to illustrate how bitter he is at what he feels Parkers taken from him.

What garbage. Venom always hated Spiderman, but he had more of a sense of honor. He wouldn't kidnap a child to try and form a plan to kill him. Now Carnage, on the other hand, would definitely stoop to this level. It would be good if something like this were to happen in Spiderman 4 if they still planned on using Lizard and Carnage. It's simple. While Connors is slowly becoming more lizard than man, he still loves his family. Carnage kidnaps his son Billy, forcing a partnership to kill Spidey.

Well, seeing as I just said that what they did in the game with Sandman and Venom would have been better with Carnage and Lizard, yes, just like in Spiderman 3. Pretty much the exact same thing, except instead of Venom, Sandman and Penny, Marco's daughter, it would be Carnage, Lizard and Connor's son, Billy. I personally think it would fit better, and because this same confrontation happened in the shitty Spiderman 3 game and not the shitty Spiderman 3 movie, they could use it in Spiderman 4.

How is the symbiote story-line "too unhealthy"? Venom and Carnage have gained a lot of fan-support over the years, and have become essential to the Spiderman plight of heroics over villainy throughout the numerous interpretations of it. A shapeless spore that acts as a large parasite, feeding off people, definitely falls into Spiderman's sci-fi technological villain foundation. And with all this time bashing Venom and Carnage, you haven't even said what you would prefer for a fourth. Ante-up.

Too true. Directors can't just work with material they're aware of, otherwise their talent would be far too limited. He should read up on Carnage in the Spiderman comics; there's years of material to work with. He should seriously studying the character mythos before deciding to not use him. If he decides to go in another direction afterwards, fine. At least he would know the character before deciding "no".
