Super metroid was not on the NES but on the SNES. You mean metroid on the nes and Zero mission for the GBA. Zero mission was: Easier Shorter Had an extra story at the end Metroid was: TERRORLY HUGE! AND YOU HAD NO MAP HARD NO GUIDE LINES WHAT HOW EVER! BUT TOTALY AWSOME, but Super metroid is way better though, still the best metroid ever.

I love side scrollers and miss them. This game was so good I never even realized it was a side scroller until I looked back and thought about it. Now that all games on PS3 and Wii are 3D they lose their original game play. Zelda & Metroid used to be completely different games to me but now the new ones have the same exact game play.

The best thing about Super Metroid was that you could control your character REALLY WELL, doing wall-jumps and stuff after practice. If these kinds of things were put into a 3-D game, it would feel very awkward and glitchy.

I LOVE this game! I remember playing this for the first time, and the one thing that stuck out the most was the soundtrack. Oh, and the gameplay is totally kick-ass. I want to play this game again!

another metroid one that should definatly be in the top 100 is from metroid fusion, the water theme from the water sector ( i think sector 3) but when you are in there the second time behind the red doors, amazing music.

Super Metroid is one of the greatest achievements in video game music. It's hard to believe this was from the 16-bit era. This is a great track, but my favorite has always been the slower song played in the "red" areas of Brinstar. So hauntingly atmospheric.
