did you find the 1d mk II do the 35mm F/1.4 justice considering its 1.3x crop factor? (assuming you bought it before your 5d). I only ask because i'm looking at purchasing one for my 7d!

The lens is great either way, but I actually bought the 35 anticipating going full-frame. On my 1D it made a great 50mm(@45.5mm) lens. For a 7D, because it is 1.6x crop, a 35mm will be close to a normal 50mm (@56mm) as well. So if you are looking for something similar to a 35mm, for your 7D, grab the 24mm L 1.4 II which will be 38.5mm, and 35mm for a 56mm equivalent; etc.

I made it sound worse than it is. I do like to keep it around for the occasional (but very rare) times I shoot outdoor sports or events.

With the exceptions of my video (smile) and that hot woman's video -- this was the most interesting so far.

Great lenses. Although, I'd put my seventeen year old Nikkor up against that 85L any day. Perhaps we should do a "shoot out."

Thanks Drew! I really do love the lenses.. I watched your submission earlier too and looked up your setup because I thought it was interesting. It is kind of like putting a ford engine in a Camaro hah. I also watched your test video with that Nikkor f/2-- beautiful lens! I do feel like i would miss f/1.2 though, I rarely go higher than f/2.

As for the hot woman... I wouldn't have minded her winning either... but then she said she had a boyfriend. (evil grin) haha
