I have to respectfully disagree with the topics mentioned in this book. With a degree in clinical exercise physiology,& fair amount of knowledge in regards to diet I find some topics at fault. Recommending cheese or any fat only slows the metabolic processes down for the body, not to mention what it does to the lymphatic system. In contrast, fructose is so easily assimilated that it is the most recommended form of "sugar". Note the rate of adult onset diabetes in vegans & fruitarians is minimal
Mike, you are a fabulous orator. Thank you for the videos. Reading the synopsis of Sugar Nation on Amazon, it sounds similar to a book I just finished last night called "Wheat Belly" by William Davis. I found it very enlightening and will also read Sugar Nation. The realization for me is that the more we can think of "food" as nothing more than fuel, and dose it in accurate quantities and types, the better we would all be. It's a little sad though. It takes the enjoyment out of it.
@zzQUEzz so true...it's paradoxical and not easy...my solution is to practice a lot more self control, with rewards every now and then...your body will thank u in the long run...peace
Thank you so mug for recommending this book. I am reading it! I am on page 99. Enjoy most of the book so far, very informative. However, what he said about how culture could play a role in the course and using the sample of Chinese "In china, for example, memories of famine lead to the overfeeding of children. Another problem is that many Chinese don't like having their blood drawn for lab work." made me wanna laugh so hard.
It is not only pure ignorant based on no fact but also sadly arrogant
I have a potato chip problem! I run 30mins a day, 5 days a week. I'm a pescatarian, eat mostly vegetables and legumes, low carbs (when I do it's whole grains), and high quality proteins. About ever 2 or 3 days I sit down to a movie and eat an entire large size bag of chips, then I'm guilty for 2 days. It sounds silly but it's a real problem.
@TheCanadianRob potato chips are so good yet soooo bad for ya...hang in there and try to eliminate them from your daily diet...maybe just a few times a month...good luck and peace...
Finish the book! Thank you! Would love to see more book review by you.
