  • I love speedos

  • nice suit

  • "regulation" or not, getting out of *anything* heavier than a T-shirt while underwater ain't easy. Very impressive, you're nuts, and I mean that as a compliement!

  • keep up the escapes john

  • Looks like a "gimmicked" straight jacket, no loops in the front for the arms. Still looks super dangerous. Thumbs down.

  • clintonearlwalker,

No sure why you think that but it is not. Regulation jacket. To each his own.

  • @Alexanderiathegreat I don't know what "regulations" u are using, but I was at the Trans Allegheny Lunatic Asylum about 1 month ago and a woman that worked there said they used straight jackets all the time. No one ever escaped from them because they had loops in the front for the arms, unlike the one u take off in this vid. The Posey company currently manufactures patient transport jackets still in use today, that are inescapable, (unless they are gimmicked)

  • @clintonearlwalker original straitjackets didn't have the loops at the front, just posey ones

  • @JakersMagic99

You are correct. I do not own a possey. If Clintonwalker would like to get me one I will do it in that one too.

  • well done as always, alex! once you feel confident enough, consider switching to a more difficult straitjacket to escape from, like a posey.

  • KisaSohmaTheFinal,

Regulation strait jacket used for this escape. I will be doing a number of different things in the future. Keeping watching as we have only just begun.

  • @Alexanderiathegreat

Yeah I'm aware of the model of the SJ you used. Keep up the good work!

  • That would be a good idea... I can't do it any more, for health reasons...

  • Do You have scuba divers on hand just in case you get into trouble?

  • AceTheBathound,

I do not have divers on hand. My husband is there filming but I guess I should huh?

  • He's watching you while filming, so if you do get into trouble he'd come after you, right?

  • mike53593,

Yes he is and he has. He has saved me plenty of times.

  • Well done Alex. That must be so difficult with the material clinging to you when it gets wet. Great job.

  • rolandsc,

It takes a bit to do the leap not knowing if and how quickly you will get out. I have to do a lot of wriggling to get the jacket off my body. Thrashing also limits your breath hold abilities as it eats up a lot of your oxygen. Harry Houdini said he would not do a strait jacket underwater as it was too dangerous given the unpredictability of the material. He said the same about ropes underwater too. He would not do them.

  • @Alexanderiathegreat Glad to see you have headed his advice then!!!! NOT! It's the daredevil in you!!

  • Rolandsc,

You know me too well. I like the edge. The video you see is my very first time attempt at jumping into the deep end in sj. And truth be told it was only the 4th time I had attempted this escape underwater. The other 3 times were minutes earlier in the shallow end. Harry Houdini said never to do rope or a strait jacket escape underwater as it is too unpredictable. I admire Harry but I like to push things to the limit. So far so good.

  • That was an impressive escape Alex. Well done xx

  • jeff,

Thanks I have been working on this at a local Helath club which has been kind enough to let me train there.
