Wow, so many of these predictions came a year later with the better display- retina- video conferencing, video and editing! Crazy. it makes me wonder, did people hear true rumors that just didn't make the cut or did Apple not even think about these things until people thought them up as rumors (unlikely). I don't know. Very interesting to watch these rumor vids in hindsight!!

i agree that iphone is lacking about 4 years technology as of now (dont know about new one) but one of iphone's strongest feature is the apps.. as of now they have thousands and thousands of apps available and i hate to say it, most people buy it for apps to show off ... no matter how outdated the iphone is, every app has the power of making the iphone feel like a whole new device .. if you think apple doesnt know how to develop product, think again :) they know how to stretch out product life

They didn't. The iPhone 2.0 OS came out the following month to coincide with the iPhone 3G release. The results were rather hectic however. So this time it would be logical to release it straight away, but if it follows the traditional pattern... you'll have to wait until July for both.

Apple always releases new products that are minor upgrades. Like the iphone came out then they ( a month down the road) lowered the price. Same thing with the ipods they all do the same thing. And macs are never upgradable, you always have to buy a new one.

I'm sorry. My mistake. OK.....one half as much more for 8 gigs more. Wow, 8 more gigs warrants you $100 more. So if 8gig Ipod cost $200 that means the 8gigs of memory is half the price of the Ipod because for $100 more you can get 8 more gigs. Hmm, that still sounds like a lot of money for 8gigs of memory since you can buy a 16gig flash SD card for $30. duh...ok great engineering Apple. Great. Makes perfect sense to me. NOT!!!!

Obviously you don't know that an iPhone 16GB is not an iPhone 8GB + 2nd 8GB chip, but an iPhone with a 16GB chip, which indeed do cost MORE than twice the price of 2*8GB.

iPod touch have 2 chips, the 2nd being placed where phone parts are.

BTW, SD card are nothing near chips in the iPhone, in price, speed, reliability.

SO please spare us you wannabe expert attitude, when it' obvious you don't care nor know what your complaining about (ie Firewire)

I'm gonna switch from a Macintosh to a Hackintosh. Macs are too overpriced. OS X Leopard is the best OS out there, though. So I'll double boot Windows 7 (for gaming) and Leopard (for normal use, maybe video editing).

Regarding the bezel, consider this: the 1st Gen iPod touch had a black bezel around the screen, made of aluminum, and then the chrome backing. The 2nd Gen iPod touch changed that by wrapping the backing all the way to the screen.

And a glowing Apple logo would really be a waste of time on Apple's part. No matter what, people can tell when you have an iPhone. It's harder to tell when someone uses a MacBook if they have a sticker over it or something.

I really don't give a S*** about the F'in iPhone anymore. I remember when Apple were Apple Computer inc. when the keynotes were all about Mac OS, I miss those days. I'm sick of the iPhone, the amount of care they're putting into the iPhone OS is stopping them evolving OS X. Apple fails without Steve Jobs, it's like 1993 all over again.

lol ye i do miss the focal point of the keynotes being about the MAC. i think apple believe the iphone and ipod game is more lucrative for them, if you look at there profits and sales, its all from the iphone and ipods, they gone down especially since recession has began, in terms of mac sales. but i beleive the next os after snow, will HAVE TO BE BIG. as snow contains very little new features.

the iPod touch shares the iPhones OS with the iPhone, the iPhone OS 3.0 will be presented at WWDC, this is the why it correct but not accurate.

the macrumors buyers guide is a better reference for incoming update, and "mactracker (dot) ca" a good source for all things Apple (database of all released products : Hardware, software, OS)

"Digital Compass" Points the North, therefore is able to show on a Map which direction you're facing, or in a seperate app just show a representation of the compass pointing the north (south in south emisphere)

And Not : "telling your were you are" which is the Assisted GPS (GPS-A) part.

3G+ : 3.6 to 7.2 MB/s, the actual iPhone has a Max of 3.6, the next could have 7.2 (network already in place in europe)

The OLED screens are not so expensive, anymore (still pricier, but not out of the ligue)

the lenses are not anymore systematically considered mechanical part: the focus being controlled by piezzo-electric component controling the tension of the "oily" separator of the lenses and therefore the focus.

I think if there going to put a decent camera on it it should be at least a 5mp. There are phones on the market now with 8mp and i think even 10mp. The black thing around the ourside I think would look good. But there should be an option. Also more colours would be nice. And i'm not sure whether there going to keep the plastic, or go back to the aluminium. Snow Leopard is going to be good though.

Here in Australia Telstra's network runs at 21mbps and later on in the year it will be 42mbps. Apple would be silly not to have at least 7.2mbps speeds on the new iphone i think.
